Ryff's(1989) psychological well-being measure is used to assess and sometimes compare Korean and American adults, however, there is no information regarding whether its dimensions are psychometrically invariant across, whether its items provide sufficient information for, and whether each item measures identical trait levels in, the two nations. Confirmatory factor analysis on response 1,696 Korean and 3,669 American adults, gave to the measure revealed lack of fit and absence of factorial invariance across the two nations. Item response theory revealed significant variance for items on each factor across two countries that most items yielded limited psychometric information. And that each item measure different trait levels, suggesting that in its present form, the measure might lead to misleading results for, and across the two nations.
As SNS(Social Network Service) becomes a part of our life, new information can be derived through various information provided by SNS. Through the public timeline analysis of SNS, we can extract the latest tour trends for the public and the intimacy through the social relationship analysis in the SNS. The extracted intimacy can also be used to make the personalized recommendation by adding the weights to friends with high intimacy. We apply SNS elements such as analyzed latest trends and intimacy to item-based collaborative filtering techniques to achieve better accuracy and satisfaction than existing travel recommendation services in a new way. In this paper, we propose a social travel recommendation system using item - based collaborative filtering.
As a step preliminary to the factor-analysis of a child-rearing attitude scale under construction, its preliminary form containing a total of 368 self-answered questions was administerd to 88 married women with one or more children in the grade school age. all graduates of colleges and in possession of a home telephone and a house, twice from one week apart. The test-retest correlation coefficients, calculated for each test item based on the subject's choice among the three response alternatives on two test ocasions, ranged from .80 to .10. The cut-off point of r=.41 or lower led to the elimination of 48 items. As a point of incidental interest, the rate of response concordance. The namber of subjects giving the same categroy response on two occasions was calculated for each item and it was correlated with its test. retest correlation coefficient. The two different indices of item test-retest reliability were found not related to each other. Empirical evidence, as well as rational justifications, was presented to show that the correlation coefficient is the better of the tow indices of item test-retest reliability.
The purpose of this study was to develop the Daily Hassles Scale for children in Korea. The subject were 444 children of 184 fourth graders and 260 sixth graders selected form five elementary schools in Seoul(217 male and 227 female). A questionnaire consisting of 90-item daily hassles scale, demographic questions, and some additional questions was used as a methodological instrument. statistics used for data analysis were X2, cramer's V, factor analysis, multi-regression, Pearson's r, Cronbach's α. The major findings of this study were as follows. 1) 87 items of the 90-item scale were acceptible through item discriminant method. The discriminant coefficients of the items(Cramer's V) ranged form .28 to .73. 2) 6 factors(parents, home environment, friends, studies, teachers & school, the surroundings) were extracted from factor analysis. Multi-regression analysis conducted to reduce the length of scale have drawed 42 items for 'the Daily Hassles Scale for Children in Korea'. The correlation between this scale and the Quality of Life Scale(Olson & Barnes, 1982) was conducted to test the criterion-related validity, and the coefficient was significant(r=-.52, p<.001).3) Finally, reliability coefficients(Cronbach'α) of this scale was. 85.
The purpose of this study was to develop a scale for evaluation of preschool children's peer competence and to examine its validity and reliability. The 15 items of the preliminary scale were completed by teachers, and peer rating scale for assessment of peer acceptance was administered to 365 children 5 to 6 years of age. The methods for data analysis included item analysis, factor analysis for construct validity, Pearson correlations between teacher's ratings of peer competence and children's ratings of peer acceptance for concurrent validity, and Cronbach's u for reliability. The 15 items of the scathe were found be satisfactory in terms of item response distribution and item discrimination. Factor analysis revealed that a 3-factor solution was the best fit: sociability, prosocial behavior, leadership in peer relations. Correlations between teacher's ratings and children's ratings were as significant. Cronbach'so ranged from .88 to .93 for three subscales and .93 for the total scale. It was concluded that the psychometric properties of the peer competence scale in general were acceptable for use.
The purpose of this study was to development and validation of the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university. The research collected preliminary data from 1,567 university students's responses for item and scale quality analyses, and collected 2,539 university students's for item and scale quality analyses, and 300 university professors's responses for validation. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability, and validity analysis. The results of the study were as follows; The 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university was defined by 5 factors. The 5 factors were structure and sincerity of lecture, suitability of report and test, level of consulting for student, application of educational media, communication. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed five sub-scales in the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university scale. Criterion-related validity evidence was obtained from the correlation analysis as the criterion measures. Cross validity evidence was obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis in university professors.
This study was performed to develop a scale of maternal conflict based on already established scales and the literature review. The major purpose of this study was to develop a scale of which contains difficulties which mother can feel to rearing her child and can be applied to mothers at home or employed mothers. 68 items were developed. For content validity test, the items were examined by 7 experts panel with Likert 4 scale. The 39 items were selected as high validity from 86% of the experts. The item number of each area and the misunderstanding words were corrected by advices of experts. 10 mothers again examined 39 items in order to correct the misunderstanding words and the long sentences. For reliability and factor analysis of 39 items, 496 mothers participated. 34 items were chosen because 5 items that corrected item-total correlation coefficient were lower than 0.2 were excluded by the result of reliability analysis. Factor analysis was done with 34items. 6 factors were classified higher than eigen value 1.0, 28 items were chosen because 6 items that factor loadings were lower than 0.4 were excluded. These factors were named as employment and caring for child(6 items), child education(5 items), support system for caring for child(4 items), interaction with mother and child(4 items), view of maternal role(5 items) and me as human being(4 items). Reliability analysis was done with 28 items. 1 item(36 number of factor 1) was excluded because corrected item-total correlation coefficient were lower than 0.2. Therefore, 27 items were chosen. Maternal Conflict Scale was contained 27 items. The corrected item-total correlation coefficient of 27 items were ranged from .2345 to .5240 and Cronbach alpha coefficient of those was .8207 by the results of reliability analysis. It can be evaluated that this scale had a high validity and reliability because of passing through an objective process of test.

Objective This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Korean Anxiety Screening Assessment (K-ANX) developed for screening anxiety disorders. Methods Data from 613 participants were analyzed. The K-ANX was evaluated for reliability using Cronbach's alpha, item-total correlation, and test information curve, and for validity using focus group interviews, factor analysis, correlational analysis, and item characteristics based on item response theory (IRT). The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of the K-ANX were compared with those of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale (GAD-7). Results The K-ANX showed excellent internal consistency (${\alpha}=0.97$) and item-total coefficients (0.92-0.97), and a one-factor structure was suggested. All items were highly correlated with the total scores of the BAI, GAD-7, and Penn State Worry Questionnaire. IRT analysis indicated the K-ANX was most informative as a screening tool for anxiety disorders at the range between 0.8 and 1.6 (i.e., top 21.2 to 5.5 percentiles). Higher sensitivity (0.795) and specificity (0.937) for identifying anxiety disorders were observed in the K-ANX compared to the BAI and GAD-7. Conclusion The K-ANX is a reliable and valid measure to screen anxiety disorders in a Korean sample, with greater sensitivity and specificity than current measures of anxiety symptoms.
