  • Purpose: This study aimed to valuate the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the 5C Psychological Antecedents of Vaccination (K-5C) scale. Methods: The English version of the 5C scale was translated into Korean, following the World Health Organization guidelines. Data were collected from 316 community-dwelling adults. Content validity was evaluated using the content validity index, while construct validity was evaluated through confirmatory factor analysis. Convergent validity was examined by assessing the correlation with vaccination attitude, and concurrent validity was evaluated by examining the association with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination status. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability were also evaluated. Results: Content validity results indicated an item-level content validity index ranging from .83 to 1, and scale-level content validity index, averaging method was .95. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the fit of the measurement model, comprising a five-factor structure with a 15-item questionnaire (RMSEA = .05, SRMR = .05, CFI = .97, TLI = .96). Convergent validity was acceptable with a significant correlation between each sub-scale of the 5C scale and vaccination attitude. In concurrent validity evaluation, confidence, constraints, and collective responsibility of the 5C scale were significant independent predictors of the current COVID-19 vaccination status. Cronbach's alpha for each subscale ranged from .78 to .88, and the intraclass correlation coefficient for each subscale ranged from .67 to .89. Conclusion: The Korean version of the 5C scale is a valid and reliable tool to assess the psychological antecedents of vaccination among Korean adults.

  • Data mining is the representative analysis methodology in the era of big data, and is the process to analyze a massive volume database and summarize it into meaningful information. Association rule technique finds the relationship among several items in huge database using the interestingness measures such as support, confidence, lift, etc. But these interestingness measures cannot be used to establish a causality relationship between antecedent and consequent item sets. Moreover, we can not know association direction by them. This paper propose causally confirmed association thresholds to compensate for these problems, and then check the three conditions of interestingness measures. The comparative studies with basic association thresholds, causal association thresholds, and causally confirmed association thresholds are shown by simulation studies. The results show that causally confirmed association thresholds are better than basic and causal association thresholds.

  • One of the main concerns of the present age, is attending to the issue of sustainability that in recent decades, the concept of it has grown in terms of recognition and importance. Sustainability have defined further the development of the welfare and living standards of the present generation, without the lives of future generations is at stake. One of these tasks of the business is project management and today, "green or sustainable project management" as one of the most important global trends of project management have been identified. The issue of present study was to investigate the relationship of sustainability factors with success of a project. The population of the research consists of directors of oil and gas in the South Pars region including 150 people that according to Cochran formula, the number of samples were obtained 108 people. In this study, data collection was conducted based on a structured questionnaire that from a sample set of questions was used for sustainability impact on 6 scale of project management success. For this purpose, the whole five-item Likert has been used. Also for statistical analysis, PLS software was used. The results of path analysis at confidence level of 95%, showed a significant relationship exists between "sustainability factor" and "project success criteria." Since the correlation coefficient is positive, so this type of relationship is positive. Thus all the hypotheses at confidence level of 95 percent was confirmed and it became clear that there is a significant positive relationship between "sustainability factors" and "project success criteria."

  • Background: In contemporary China, most parents are dual-earner couples and there is only one child in the family. We aimed to examine the associations of parents' work stress with suicidal ideation among the corresponding adolescent. We further hypothesized that low parental support experienced by adolescents may mediate the associations. Methods: Cross-sectional data from school students and their working parents were used, with 907 families from Kunming City, China. Stress at work was measured by the effort-reward imbalance questionnaire. Perceived parental support was assessed by an item on parental empathy and their willingness to communicate with the adolescent. Suicidal ideation was considered positive if students reported thoughts about suicide every month or more frequently during the previous 6 months. Logistic regression was used to examine the associations. Results: We observed that parents' work stress was positively associated with low parental support, which was in turn associated with adolescent suicidal ideation. The odds ratio for parents' work stress and adolescent suicidal ideation was 2.91 (95% confidence interval: 1.53-5.53), and this association was markedly attenuated to 2.24 (95% confidence interval: 1.15-4.36) after additional adjustment for parental support. Notably, mothers' work stress levels exerted stronger effects on children's suicidal ideation than those of fathers. Conclusion: Parents' work stress (particularly mother's work stress) was strongly associated with adolescent's suicidal ideation, and the association was partially mediated by low parental support. These results need to be replicated and extended in prospective investigations within and beyond China, in order to explore potential causal pathways as a basis of preventive action.

  • When conducting a survey, item nonresponse occurs if the respondent does not respond to some items. Since analysis based only on completely observed data may cause biased results, imputation is often conducted to analyze data in its complete form. The panel study is a survey method that examines changes of responses over time. In panel studies, there has been a preference for using information from response values of previous waves when the imputation of item nonresponses is performed; however, limited research has been conducted to support this preference. Therefore, this study compares the performance of imputation methods according to whether or not information from previous waves is utilized in the panel study. Among imputation methods that utilize information from previous responses, we consider ratio imputation, imputation based on the linear mixed model, and imputation based on the Bayesian linear mixed model approach. We compare the results from these methods against the results of methods that do not use information from previous responses, such as mean imputation and hot deck imputation. Simulation results show that imputation based on the Bayesian linear mixed model performs best and yields small biases and high coverage rates of the 95% confidence interval even at higher nonresponse rates.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable and valid instrument to measure hope for cancer patients in Korea. This Hope Scale(Kim & Lee Hope Scale ; KLHS ) was developed based on not only critical universal attributes explaining both basic hope (generalized hope) and specific hope but also particular characteristics varing from culture and situation, which were revealed in a comprehensive review of the literature. Initially 60 items were generated from three sources : 36 items from the Q-sample used in the Kim's study, 1992, 21 representative items(statements) from the rest Q-population of the above study, 3 items related to the newly discovered category in the new qualitative study using 10 open ended question(death and dying) from the new qualitative study on the 20 cancer patients. At first 3 items were eliminated by the critique of the content validity experts, who were high experienced nurse, nursing professors. And then 4 items were eliminated in consideration of corrected item total correlation coefficiency, theoretical framework of this study. After that, 14 items were eliminated in comparing two or three items identified with the same meaning in each factor by this research team with factor loading and communality. This Hope Scale was finally constructed with 39 items. Psychometric evaluation was done on 492 adults(104 cancer patients, 388 adults who imagined who were cancer patients ranging from 18 to 76 years old. The results revealed high internal consistency Alpha coefficiency of .9351. Princial Component Factor Analysis with Varimax Rotation resulted in 8 factors with more than 1.0 of Eigenvalue. Referring to Eigenvalues, percent of variances(>60%), reproduced correlation matrix, and our theoretical framework, we decided the eight factors were the best1 solution to represent hope dimensions sufficiently. The eight factors were "confidence in possibility of cure", "sense of internal satisfaction", "being in communion", "meaning of life", "Korean hope perspectives", "belief in god", "self confidence", "self-worth". Among these factors, "confidence in possibility of cure", "sense of internal satisfaction", "Korean hope perspectives" were identified as different hope dimensions from those of Nowotny Hope Scale and Herth Hope Scale. There was significant negative correlation of r=-.4736 between this hope scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS), and significant positive correlation of r=.3685 between this hope scale and Life Orientation Test (LOT) which indicate convergent and discriminant validity. The range of hope scores was from 71 to 244, with a mean of 171.97(SD=28.16).

  • This study aimed to explore the over-efficacy in problem solving and overconfidence of knowledge of students performing assessments in two different test formats: multiple-choice and supply-type. Two hundred and four female middle school students participated in this study. Multiple-choice and supply-type formats of tests on photosynthesis were used, and each item contained scales indicating one's self-efficacy on problem-solving and confidence of knowledge. The results showed that the correlation coefficients of performance between the two different assessment formats were less than 0.5 and the correlation coefficients between efficacy/confidence and actual performance were less than 0.45. Moreover, students tended to exhibit more over-efficacy and overconfidence in multiple-choice formats. The percentage of over-efficacy and overconfidence was higher in the group that completed the multiple-choice test first followed by the supply-type assessment than in the group that started with the supply-type followed by the multiple-choice assessment. From this study, it can be suggested that more use of supply-type assessment is required in science education. If test administrators require the combination of both multiple-choice and supply-type in an assessment, the supply-type assessment format should come first so that students can maintain the appropriate level of efficacy and confidence. In addition, science educators need to develop new learning programs to enhance students' self-monitoring skills of their problem-solving ability and knowledge.

  • This study investigated the means-end chain theory more concretely through the APT hard laddering technique. This is carrying out a questionnaire survey targeting users by hair salon type, and the items drawn from the qualitative laddering technique are applied. The technique is a comparative analysis of each attribute, consequences, and value item by analyzing each step's questions. The results are as follows. First, hairdresser's ability, acceptance of individual-customized opinions, and cheap price were the most mentioned items in the selection attributes. As for the consequences items, image transformation, neatness, novelty, and psychological stability were drawn in order. The items indicated as important among the value items were satisfaction, followed by happiness, confidence, beauty, and bond. Second, the remarkable selection attributes, irrelevant of hair salon type, was revealed as hairdresser's ability and the key values pursued when using a hair salon were drawn as satisfaction, confidence, and beauty. From this result, it was found that meeting the desire of consumers using hair salons can be linked with ultimately pursued values. It was also verified that partial differences were shown by hair salon type and this meant that consumers' desire and expected benefits were different by hair salon type. Although this study drew value perception through comparison with hair salon types based on the means-end chain theory, it was confirmed that the most important selection attribute was hairdresser's ability and they select and use hair salons to gain satisfaction and confidence.
