Previous research on pounding between seismically isolated buildings during earthquakes has been focused on impacts at the bases of structures and the effect of simultaneous interactions at the bases and at the superstructures has not been studied in details. In this paper, the seismic responses of adjacent buildings supported on different or similar base systems considering impacts between bases and superstructures are numerically investigated. The study is carried out in three parts for the two types of adjacent buildings: (i) both structures have fixed bases; (ii) one structure has fixed base and the other is seismically isolated and (iii) both structures have base isolation systems. The results of the study indicate that the pounding-involved responses of the buildings depend mainly on the type of structural base systems and on the structural parameters of both buildings. For the base-isolated building, the variation of the peak accelerations and displacements of the storeys have been found to be relatively low. On the other hand, significant differences have been observed for the fixed base building. The results of the parametric study conducted for different values of the gap size between colliding structures show the reduction in the peak base displacements as the gap distance decreases.
The post-LOCA long term cooling (LTC) performance of the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant (KSNPP) is analyzed for both small break loss-of-coolant accidents (LOCA) and large break LOCA at cold leg. The RELAP5/MOD3.2.2 beta code is used to calculate the LTC sequences based on the LTC plan of the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plants (KSNPP). A standard input model is developed such that LOCA and the followed LTC sequence can be calculated in a single run for both small break LOCA and large break LOCA. A spectrum of small break LOCA ranging from \ulcorner.02 to 0.5 k2 of break area and a double-ended guillotine break are analyzed. Through the code calculations, the thermal-hydraulic behavior and the boron behavior are evaluated and the effect of the important action including the safety injection tank (SIT isolation and the simultaneous injection in LTC procedure is investigated. As a result, it is found that the sufficient margin is available in avoiding the boron precipitation in the core. It is also found that a further specific condition for the SIT isolation action need to be setup and it is recommended that the early initiation of the simultaneous injection be taken for larger break LTC sequences.
The total ethanol extract of Angelica koreana radix (UmbeUiferae) showed potent inhibitory effect on tumor necrosis factors (TNF-${\alpha}$) production from LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells in screening studies on 118 Korean medicinal plants. The activity-guided fractionation of the total ethanol extract resulted in the isolation of 4 compounds, including active substances. The chemical structures of the compounds isolated were established by chemical and spectrometric analyses as imperatorin, isoimperatorin, osthol and oxypeucedanin. Among them, osthol, oxypeucedariin and isoimperatorin showed significant inhibitory activities on TNF-${\alpha}$ production as 54.3${\pm}$2.1%, 33.6${\pm}$1.0% and 17.7${\pm}$3.0%, respectively, at 12.5${\mu}$g/ml.

In this paper, we designed power divider that using cellular and PCS band as 2-way device, because each port of designed power divider have reversion that is used to divide the power or compose the power in case of the 2 way, if input port of characteristic impedance with 50$\Omega$ is loading the power then size and phase of power appear on two output port being shared to two parts equally. Usually, divider have division effect of 3dB, but divider have insertion loss when designed in this paper, we have the purpose to design that have good isolation and design that equal insertion loss with minimum insertion loss in the broadband.

South Korea's rapid ageing and the fast increase of nuclear families have led to the social isolation of the elderly and generational conflicts. In order to solve these social problems, this study explores the ways in which different generations can communicate and interact more actively. We surveyed 110 social workers who run generation-integrated programs at community centers in Gyeonggi province, and also examined the spatial design of the four age-integrated community centers and analysed its effect on the intergenerational exchange. We propose several suggestions for intergenerational exchange programs and effective space planning to facilitate intergenerational interactions in multi-generational community centers. To develop intergenerational interactions and keep their constant relationship, the users of community centers should be the core of generation-integrated programs which can facilitate the intergenerational exchange and interactions.
The MeOH extract of the bark of Paeonia moutan showed potent inhibitory effect on the mushroom tyrosinase activity in vitro. The activity-guided fractionation of t he MeOH extract resulted in the isolation of three active compounds. The chemical structures of these compounds were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic evidence as catechin, 1,2,3,6-tetra-O-galloyl-${\beta}$-D-glucose and 1,2,3,4,6-penta-0-galloyl-${\beta}$-D-glucose, respectively. Among them, the inhibitory activity by 1,2,3,6-tetra-galloyl-${\beta}$-D-glucose on mushroom tyrosinase was more potent $(IC_{50}=3.5\;{\mu}M)$ than that of kojic acid $(IC_{50}=8.7\;{\mu}M)$ ,but catechin enhanced the mushroom tyrosinase activity 50% in the concentration of 34.5M.
Base isolation technology has been accepted as a feasible and attractive way in improving seismic resistance of structures. The seismic design of new seismically isolated structures is mainly governed by the Uniform Building Code (UBC-97) published by the International Conference of Building Officials. In the UBC code, the distribution formula of the inertial (or lateral) forces leads to an inverted triangular shape in the vertical direction. It has been found to be too conservative for most isolated structures through experimental, computational and real earthquake examinations. In this paper, four simple and reasonable design formulae, based on the first mode of the base-isolated structures, for the lateral force distribution on isolated structures have been validated by a multiple-bay three-story base-isolated steel structure tested on the shaking table. Moreover, to obtain more accurate results for base-isolated structures in which higher mode contributions are more likely expected during earthquakes, another four inertial force distribution formulae are also proposed to include higher mode effects. Besides the experimental verification through shaking table tests, the vertical distributions of peak accelerations computed by the proposed design formulae are in good agreement with the recorded floor accelerations of the USC University Hospital during the Northridge earthquake.
The anti-allergic actions of the leaves of Castanea crenata (Fagaceae) were studied. The water extract demonstrated potent anti-allergic actions in in vivo and in vitro experiments. The oral or intraperitoneal administration of the extract (100 or 200 mg/kg) caused a significant inhibition of the 48 hr-PCA (up to 90%) and the vascular permeability induced by histamine or serotonin in rats (about 80%). The anaphylactic release of ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase for RBL-2H3 cells was also significantly inhibited by the extract in as dose-dependent manner with an IC50 value of 230 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml. The activity-guided fractionation of the extract, based on the determination of inhibitor effect upon the release of ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase, led to the isolation of quercetin as an active principle responsible for the inhibition of degranulation.
Limiting the displacement of seismic isolators causes a pounding phenomenon under severe earthquakes. Therefore, the ASCE 7-16 has provided minimum criteria for the design of the isolated building. In this research the seismic response of isolated buildings by Triple Friction Pendulum Isolator (TFPI) under the impact, expected, and unexpected mass eccentricity was evaluated. Also, the effect of different design parameters on the seismic behavior of structural and nonstructural elements was found. For this, a special steel moment frame structure with a surrounding moat wall was designed according to the criteria, by considering different response modification coefficients (RI), and 20% mass eccentricity in one direction. Then, different values of these parameters and the damping of the base isolation were evaluated. The results show that the structural elements have acceptable behavior after impact, but the nonstructural components are placed in a moderate damage range after impact and the used improved methods could not ameliorate the level of damage. The reduction in the RI and the enhancement of the isolator's damping are beneficial up to a certain point for improving the seismic response after impact. The moat wall reduces torque and maximum absolute acceleration (MAA) due to unexpected enhancement of mass eccentricity. However, drifts of some stories increase. Also, the difference between the response of story drift by expected and unexpected mass eccentricity is less. This indicates that the minimum requirement displacement according to ASCE 7-16 criteria lead to acceptable results under the unexpected enhancement of mass eccentricity.

Legume seed isoflavones may have a variety of desirable physiological effect on the human health including both the circulatory and skeletal systems. The present study was performed to determine the isoflavone content of leaf and seed as well as to purify and identify the types of isoflavone from leaf extract of hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet). Reverse phase HPLC revealed six different types of isoflavone such as daidzin, genistin, daidzein, genistein, 6"-o-acetyl genistin and 6"-o-acetyl daidzin in aqueous methanol extract from seeds and leaves of the hyacinth bean. Relatively, leaf isoflavone content of hyacinth bean was greater than seed isoflavone content. Using DiAion HP-20 silica gel and sephadex LH-20 chromatography, pure daidzein was identified in the ether layer, whereas genistin was in the EtOAC fraction.
