Smart Gateway VPN Tunneling Control System based on IoT (IoT 기반 스마트 게이트웨이 VPN 터널링 제어 시스템)

  • Recently, research have smart gateways can provide additional services through the IoT and Big Data. However, the existing System is number of devices connected increases to the Server, the stability of the network is degraded and data security is poor. In this paper, we design a smart gateway VPN tunneling control system based on IoT to solve these problems. we propose an effective VPN tunneling technology for low-end targets such as routers, and a method for efficiently controlling traffic in real-time in an environment where the quality of the Internet line changes dramatically. It is possible to control the sensor in the home safely through the VPN at the remote place.

  • 다양한 IoT 장비를 모니터링 하고 제어할 수 있는 gateway system을 설계하고 구현할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 효율적으로 스마트홈을 구축하기 위한 방안 및 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 현재의 스마트 홈 케어솔루션은 공기질 측정, 온/습도 측정, 동작 감지, 음성제어 장치 등 다양한 IoT 장치들을 사용하지만 사용자에 따라 필요성이 떨어지는 기능들이 존재한다는 단점이 존재한다. 이러한 이슈를 해결하면서 편리한 스마트홈을 구축할 수 있도록 plug and play 기술을 이용해 집안에서 사용하는 다양한 IoT 기능들을 사용자가 직접 선택할 수 있는 gateway system으르 제시하고자 한다. 저비용 고효율의 효율적 시스템을 구성할 수 있는 IoT 센서와 아두이노 및 라떼판다를 활용해 다양한 IoT 장비들을 모니터링하고 분석하여 쾌적하고 경제적인 스마트홈을 구축할 수 있는 방향을 제시할 수 있었다.

A Survey of the State-of-the-Art in Korean Commercial IoT Services for deriving Core elements of Curriculum for Major Courses of IoT using RaspberryPi3 (라즈베리파이3 활용 IoT 교육과정 핵심요소 도출을 위한 한국의 상용 서비스 현황 고찰)

  • This paper surveys the state-of-the-art in korean commercial Internet of Things(IoT) services for deriving the core elements of a curriculum for major courses of IoT using RaspberryPi3. First, we survey the state-of-the-art of IoT researches and commercial services in three korean major telecommunication corporations such as Korean Telecommunications (KT), LGU+ Telecommunication (LGT), and SK Telecommunication(SKT). Second, we consider the components and advantages of the RaspberryPi3 which is popular as a representative educational tool. Concludingly, this paper derives the core elements of curriculum for major courses of IoT using RaspberryPi3 from above both processes. The corresponding elements consist of platforms, hardwares, softwares, and big-data network. Based on the important design elements of the IoT curriculum using Raspberry Pie 3, we taught embedded system course to junior students for one semester. It was successfully completed and more than 90% students were satisfied with its contents and amounts.

Design of Marine IoT Wireless Network for Building Fishing Gear Monitoring System (어구 모니터링 시스템 구축을 위한 해상 IoT 무선망 설계)

  • In order to prevent overusing the fishing gear and to reduce discarded fishing gear, there is a need for a technique that can efficiently transmit the information including the type and location of the fishing gear and the user's real name to the fishing boat and the control center using IoT-based communication. In order to do this, it is necessary to be able to confirm the position information of a plurality of buoys that can be identified by the base stations on the land. In this paper, in order to service the maritime IoT communication system, we calculate the link budget between the land base station and the targets on the sea to derive the service coverage. To design a marine IoT radio network for building a fishing gear monitoring system, we calculate link budget for wireless service optimization at sea for NB-IoT using 1.8 GHz frequency band and LoRa service using 900 MHz frequency band. In addition, the link budget between the land base station and buoy, the link budget between the land base station and fishing boat are calculated and the results are analyzed.

Design of the Smart Feeding System based on the LPWA network for Inland Fish Farms (내수면 양식장을 위한 LPWA망 기반 스마트 급이 시스템 설계)

  • IoT technologies have been rapidly developed in recent years, and applied to many industries. In the field of fisheries, the water quality management system have been developed, helping in improving productivity and working environment. In this paper, we have designed the smart feeding system, interoperable with the water quality system, using LPWA network. LPWA network is an IoT network, which is appropriate to fish farms because of its wide area coverages and low power consumption. We expect this work to contribute to developing the aquaculture technology through the big data analysis with the accumulated data.

  • Internet of Things(IoT)-devices are now expanding inter-connecting networking technologies to invent healthcare monitoring system especially for assessing physiological conditions of the chronically-ill patients those with cardiovascular diseases. Hence, IoT system is expected to be utilized for home healthcare by dedicating the original usage of IoT devices to collect the biomedical data such as electrocardiogram(ECG) and photoplethysmography(PPG) signal. The aim of this work is to implement health monitoring system by integrating IoT devices with Raspberry-pi components to measure and analyze ECG and the multi-channel PPG signals. The acquired data and fiducial features from our system can be transmitted to mobile devices via wireless networking technology to support the concept of tele-monitoring services based on IoT devices.

  • This paper provides the trend of Internet of Things (IoT) for smart healthcare services and applications. IoT has provided a promising opportunity to build intelligent healthcare system and smart wearable applications by using the growing capability of wireless mobile devices, interactive sensors/actuators, and RFID technologies. For analysis of state-of-art technology of smart healthcare system, this paper includes comparative analysis and investigation of existing standard, network protocol, and devices, etc. In this paper, we examine the market trend of IoT healthcare. In particular, we examine the variety of IoT based healthcare type such as mobile, wearable device. After that, we examine the technologies of IoT healthcare such as standard, sensor, network and security. This survey contributes to better understanding of the challenges in existing IoT healthcare and further new light on future research directions.

  • Data center has a lot of management efforts for the facility, energy, and efficient usage monitoring. Data center power management is important to make the data center have reliable service and cost-effective business. In this paper, IoT based energy measurements monitoring which gives support to energy consumption analysis including indoor, outdoor temperature condition. This converged information for energy analysis gives various aspects of energy consumption effects. With IoT big data, energy machine learning system can give the relation of energy components and measurements, it is the key information of the quick energy analysis in the just one month data trend for the prediction and estimation.

  • In order for an IoT system to automatically make the house temperature pleasant for the user, the system needs to predict the optimal start-up time of air-conditioner or heater to get to the temperature that the user has set. Predicting the optimal start-up time is important because it prevents extra fee from the unnecessary operation of the air-conditioner and heater. This paper introduces an ANN(Artificial Neural Network) and an IoT system that predicts the cooling and heating time in households using air-conditioner and heater. Many variables such as house structure, house size, and external weather condition affect the cooling and heating. Out of the many variables, measurable variables such as house temperature, house humidity, outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and wind chill was used to create training data for constructing the model. After constructing the ANN model, an IoT system that uses the model was developed. The IoT system comprises of a main system powered by Raspberry Pi 3 and a mobile application powered by Android. The mobile's GPS sensor and an developed feature used to predict user's return.

  • The Internet of Things(IoT) is to build a hyper-connected society through interconnection, and on this basis, to improve the quality of life and productivity, including solving social problems, and to become the next growth engine for the nation. The open common eco-system pursued by the IoT can start with the under- standing of the word 'open'. The IoT can achieve the expected effect of lowering the barriers to entry of technology development, and in these changes, OSSW and OSHW play a very important role in accelerating IoT eco-system maturity and breaking the boundaries between industries to promote convergence. Recently, it has developed into an intelligent IoT that combines artificial intelligence (AI) with the connectivity of the IoT. Here, I will analyze the direction of development of the IoT through understanding and analysis of open source.
