  • Stress induces change to the body functions and causes chronic problems such as worsening a disease. Thus, humans want to evade anxiety and would try any means to reduce stressful situations. Generally, a person would handle their stress by either regulating their emotions or merely coping with the situation, for which the former is most widely used. Our research aims to effectively reduce stress by using the emotional response structure developed by Plutichik and the vitalization method. We extracted the relevant components of the stress-reduction method that would be applicable in any space using digital technologies such as sensors, IoT, and augmented reality. An architect or designer may incorporate these structural components into any structure to effectively reduce people's stress. The research aims to provide a new perspective of architectural space and to show applications of the stress-reducing architectural spaces, which should also fulfill the people's needs. Further research is needed to develop an automatic system to utilize spatial components more effectively.

  • One of the main technical constraints of a conventional battery is the limited lifetime of electric energy supplied. With self-power generation using an internal radioisotope as an emitter of beta particles, and a PN-junction semiconductor as an absorber of the beta particles, a betavoltaic battery can provide electric energy to electric devices in a semi-permanent manner. Hence, a betavoltaic battery can be adopted as the solution to the power source issue of IoT devices placed in locations that people cannot easily access, such as in the deep sea, a desert, and space, and requiring a long operation time without an electrical charging. This paper covers the current trends in betavoltaic batteries including issues regarding their technology, application, and patents.

  • Infrared optical systems are operated at low temperature and vacuum (LT-V) condition, whereas the assembly and alignment are performed at room temperature and non-vacuum (RT-NV) condition. The differences in temperature and pressure between assembly/alignment environments and operation environment change the physical characteristics of optical and opto-mechanical parts (e.g., thickness, height, length, curvature, and refractive index), and the resultant optical performance changes accordingly. In this study, using input relay optics (IO), among the components of the Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrograph (IGRINS) which is an infrared spectrograph, a simulation based on the physical information of this optical system and an actual experiment were performed; and optical performances in the RT-NV, RT-V, and LT-V environments were predicted with an accuracy of $0.014{\pm}0.007{\lambda}$ rms WFE, by developing an adaptive fitting line. The developed adaptive fitting line can quantitatively control assembly and alignment processes below ${\lambda}/70$ rms WFE. Therefore, it is expected that the subsequent processes of assembly, alignment, and performance analysis could not be repeated.

  • Tangible Space is a new emerging interaction space with mobile AR/VR computing and ubiquitous computing environment with IoT. Tangible Space spans from a physical environment augmented with virtual entities to immersive virtual environments mirroring the physical environment. Interacting with Tangible Space is logged just like interacting with the Web. By webizing Tangible Space, we can gain persistence as a by-product so that human life experience in the physical environment can be logged and shared just like the information being created and shared in the current Web. The result is a powerful future direction of the web from a World Wide Web of Information to World Wide Web of Life experiences.

  • The purpose of this paper is to predict the future changes of housing through the Delphi technique. The targets to predict were set by housing type, housing space, housing demand, and architectural technology. The results were as follows: ① The influences of social and value perspectives on the change of housing type, space, and demand would be high, on the other hands, the influence of political perspective would be low. ② In terms of housing type, the increase in demand for downsizing housing for high-rise buildings and the possibility of realizing remote medical support services and homecare using big data are highly predicted. That is, ③ it is anticipated that IoTs will have a significant influences on future housing changes, and ④ enactment of co-housing and related laws by the sharing economy, services for maintenance through the supply of high-rise and high-density homes, housing support for residents, and advanced lease markets by developed architectural technology are expected as anticipated forms of future housing.

  • Rapid changes to the paradigm of smart media have created a communication environment through merging with various media such as IoT technology, which is internet of things. Among them, user' need for a start home, which is one of people living conditions, has been growing and values of the communication environment in a living space using a smart mirror have been growing. However, studies on figuring out behavior and analyzing needs of family members who actually use the living space are insufficient. This study is to draw the service system of the home smart mirror by analysis of behavior and needs of users of the living space. For a research method for analysis of behavior of family members, I wrote two kinds of user's experience maps, which are frequency of use of a quantitative space of a living space and space's important value scales by persona study and depth interview. Through this, applied spaces of the home smart mirror (living room, bathroom, powder room, dress room, porch, kitchen, room) and the types of user needs (type of providing information, entertainment type, control type, service type) have been drawn and statistical analysis methodology has been utilized for a research of user preferences in regard to correlation between living spaces and types of user needs based on a survey. As a result of analysis of ages and gender, types of user needs by space have been drawn and the service system of the home smart mirror has been drawn. It would be utilized as a basic material for various contents development and design using the smart mirror in the future.

  • Children should be provided with the right to be protected by adults, related organizations, or countries because they lack power, situation recognition ability, and situation judgment ability compared to adults. Also, children's accidents and accidents caused by neglect of management occur every year. Currently, there are about 3 to 20 children managed by one teacher in a daycare center, and it is very difficult for teachers to care for all children as many children have to be managed. Especially, when outdoor activities are conducted in open space, children's activities are expanded compared to the in-house, and children who do not follow the control of the in-house teacher may occur, so there is a limit to the control and management of children depending on the viewpoint of teachers. In this study, we designed and implemented IoT terminal and system to provide safety to children and to provide convenience to guardians and teachers by systemizing the location or interval between children and in-service teachers using portable devices that can communicate with each other. It is hoped that this will contribute to the safety of infants.

  • Today our society is approaching new intelligence information society, which has been caused by the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the development of information and communication technology(ICT). And this has just opened a new era of Internet of Things(IoT) that connects between human and objects and between objects through network, allowing transmission and reception of information beyond the limits of space. However, many crises occurred in the existing communication environment may threaten the security of Internet of Things, by violating the three components of information security. In this paper, this study aims to analyze security technology to achieve advanced security by dividing IoT security technology for coping with security vulnerability found in different components into three groups.

  • Although various kinds of VR services are being carried out in the tourism field, The virtual reality experiences are still costly, since they could be realized in a limited space with some kinds of expensive equipment such as HMD. In this study, we propose a mobile virtual reality tourism experience using an easy and simple Google card board and user's smartphone because most tourist sites are outdoors and most of users like enjoying sightseeing and experience at the same time. For this purpose, we constructed a system that provides tourist information in real time employing both the IoT and VR techniques. Especially we develpoed a tourism contents for the UNESCO World Heritage Communities of Baekje Historical Site and Songsanri Tumulus. In addition, we virtually restored the royal palace in Gongju and confirmed the historical experience by VR flatform could be popular with people.

  • Malware mutants based on existing malware is widely used because it can easily avoid the existing security system even with a slight pattern change. These malware appear on average more than 1.6 million times a day, and they are gradually expanding to IoT / ICS as well as cyber space, which has a large scale of damage. In this paper, we propose an analytical method based on features of PE Section and DLL that do not give much significance, rather than pattern-based analysis, Sandbox-based analysis, and CFG, Strings-based analysis. It is expected that the proposed model will be able to cope with effective malicious code in case of combined operation of various existing analysis technologies.
