ogy is being used in many fields, such as smart farms, smart oceans, smart homes, and smart energy. Various IoT terminals are used for these IoT services. Here, IoT devices are physically installed in various places. A malicious attacker can access the IoT service using an unauthorized IoT device, access unauthorized important information, and then modify it. In this study, to solve these problems, we propose an authentication system for IoT devices used in IoT services. The IoT device authentication system proposed in this study consists of an authentication module mounted on the IoT device and an authentication module of the IoT server. If the IoT device authentication system proposed in this study is used, only authorized IoT devices can access the service and access of unauthorized IoT devices can be denied. Since this study proposes only the basic IoT device authentication mechanism, additional research on additional IoT device authentication functions according to the security strength is required.IoT technol

IoT is being used in a lot of industry domain such as smart home, smart ocean, smart energy, and smart farm, as well as legacy information services. For a server, an IoT device using the same protocol is a trusted object. Therefore, a malicious attacker can use an unauthorized IoT device to access IoT-based information services and access unauthorized important information, and then modify or extract it to the outside. In this study, to improve these problems, we propose an IoT device authentication system used in IoT-based information service. The IoT device authentication system proposed in this study applies identifier-based authentication such as MAC address. If the IoT device authentication function proposed in this study is used, only the authenticated IoT device can access the server. Since this study applies a method of terminating the session of an unauthorized IoT device, additional research on the access deny method, which is a more secure authentication method, is needed.

IoT(Internet of Things) security is becoming increasingly important because IoT potentially has a variety of security threats, including limited hardware specifications and physical attacks. This paper is a study on the certification technology suitable for the lightened IoT environment, and we propose a system in which many gateways share authentication information and issue authentication tokens for mutual authentication using blockchain. The IoT node can be issued an authentication token from one gateway to continuously perform authentication with a gateway in the block-chain network using an existing issued token without performing re-authentication from another gateway participating in the block-chain network. Since we do not perform re-authentication for other devices in a blockchain network with only one authentication, we proposed multi phase authentication consisting of device authentication and message authentication in order to enhance the authentication function. By sharing the authentication information on the blockchain network, it is possible to guarantee the integrity and reliability of the authentication token.

With ICT technology develops, IoT environment is attracting attention. However, IoT devices have various CPU performance as much as various purpose of use. Some IoT devices use the cpu that doesn't support public key cryptogrphy or crypto acceleration. In this paper, we study Blockchain-based IoT Device Authentication Scheme that provides authentication, integirity and non-repudation through analysis of Lamport Hash-chain, Lamport Signature, Blockchain and existing Authentication protocols. The proposed scheme requires only simple hash operation in IoT devices and it can operate in low performance IoT device, thus ensuring secure authentication in IoT environment.
Recently, users' interest in IoT related products is increasing as the 4th industrial revolution has become social. The types and functions of sensors used in IoT devices are becoming increasingly diverse, and mutual authentication technology of IoT devices is required. In this paper, we propose an efficient double signature authentication scheme using Pascal's triangle theory so that different types of IoT devices can operate smoothly with each other. The proposed scheme divides the authentication path between IoT devices into two (main path and auxiliary path) to guarantee authentication and integrity of the IoT device. In addition, the proposed scheme is suitable for IoT devices that require a small capacity because they generate keys so that additional encryption algorithms are unnecessary when authenticating IoT devices. As a result of the performance evaluation, the delay time of the IoT device is improved by 6.9% and the overhead is 11.1% lower than that of the existing technique. The throughput of IoT devices was improved by an average of 12.5% over the existing techniques.

IoT is collection of different "things" which are associated with open web. As all the things are connected to the Internet, it offers convenience to end users for accessing the resources from "Any Where, Any Time" throughout the globe. At the same time, open nature of IoT provides a fertile ground to an intruder for launching different security related threats. If we can no apply proper security safeguards to the IoT System, then it will be not useful to society. Authentication, Encryption, Trust Management and Secure Routing are different domains to offer security in IoT system. Among them, Authentication is very much important security service as it validates device identity before granting access to system services/ resources. Existing IoT Authentication algorithms are fail to verify device identity in unambiguous way. They are vulnerable to different security threats such as Key Stolen threat, MITM threat and Location Spoofing threat. So, it is a demand of time to design an efficient and secure Multi-factor IoT algorithm which can offer better security and validate device identity in unambiguous way.

Internet of Thing is a collection of various technical components, and the interworking among heterogeneous devices, networks, applications is expected to be accelerated through the openness of IoT platform. For this reason, many technical and administrative security threats will occur in IoT environments. In this paper, authentication methods of recent researches are analyzed for safe IoT services, and new mutual authentication protocol is proposed to provide more secure communication. The proposed protocol prevents an impersonation as malicious gateway or illegal device providing mutual authentication between gateway and IoT device. The performance analysis and evaluation of proposed authentication protocol are performed.

Recently on IoT environment, there is necessary of protected network, which is only specific user can access it. Applying OAuth protocol on IoT, it can be easier to construct network authentication system, but it is hard to construct protected network authentication system. And there is weakness of OAuth protocol, which is easily attacked by sniffing Token by attacker. So, it is necessary to secondary authentication for OAuth. In ultimate IoT, the fog computing is essential. Fog computing is extension of cloud that enables networking not only in core system but also in edge system and communication node to node. Strength of fog computing is location awareness, support for mobility, and so on. If authentication in fog computing uses this strength, it can be more specialized in Fog Computing. So, in secondary Authentication, using Cyber-Physical-Social System will increase convenience of user than using existing authentication system, such as authentication certificate, id/password and group key, which is inconvenient for user. This study is about authentication based Cyber-Physical-Social System.
It is difficult to apply authentication methods of existing wired or wireless networks to Internet of Things (IoT) devices due to their poor environment, low capacity, and low-performance processor. In particular, there are many problems in applying methods such as blockchain to the IoT environment. In this paper, edge computing is used to serve as a server that authenticates disposable templates among biometric information in an IoT environment. In this environment, we propose a lightweight and strong authentication procedure using the IoT-edge computing (IoT-EC) system based on elliptic curve cryptographic (ECC) and evaluate its safety.

As the IoT market continues to grow, security threats to IoT devices with limited resources are also increasing. However, the application of security technology to the existing system to IoT devices with limited resources is impossible due to the inherent characteristics of IoT devices. Various methods for solving related problems have been studied in existing studies to solve this problem. Therefore, this study analyzes the characteristics of domestic IoT authentication standards and existing research to propose an algorithm that applies blockchain-based authentication and lightweight encryption algorithms to IoT equipment with limited resources. In this study, a key generation method was applied using a Lamport hash-chain and data integrity between IoT devices were provided using a Merkle Tree, and an LEA encryption algorithm was applied using confidentiality in data communication. In the experiment, it was verified that the efficiency is high when the LEA encryption algorithm, which is a lightweight encryption algorithm, is applied to IoT devices with limited resources.
