  • ogy is being used in many fields, such as smart farms, smart oceans, smart homes, and smart energy. Various IoT terminals are used for these IoT services. Here, IoT devices are physically installed in various places. A malicious attacker can access the IoT service using an unauthorized IoT device, access unauthorized important information, and then modify it. In this study, to solve these problems, we propose an authentication system for IoT devices used in IoT services. The IoT device authentication system proposed in this study consists of an authentication module mounted on the IoT device and an authentication module of the IoT server. If the IoT device authentication system proposed in this study is used, only authorized IoT devices can access the service and access of unauthorized IoT devices can be denied. Since this study proposes only the basic IoT device authentication mechanism, additional research on additional IoT device authentication functions according to the security strength is required.IoT technol

  • The growth of mobile devices in Internet of Things (IoT) leads to a number of intelligent buildings related IoT applications. For instance, home automation controlling system uses client system such web apps on smartphone or web service to access the home server by sending control commands. The home server receives the command, then controls for instance the light system. The gateway based RESTful technology responsible for handling clients' requests attests an internet latency in case a large number of clients' requests submit toward the gateway increases. In this paper, we propose the design tasks of the IoT gateway for handling concurrency events. In the procedure of designing tasks, concurrency is best understood by employing multiple levels of abstraction. The way that is eminently to accomplish concurrency is to build an object-oriented environment with support for messages passing between concurrent objects. We also investigate the performance of event-driven architecture for building IoT gateway using node.js on one side and communication protocol based message-oriented middleware known as XMPP to handle communications of intelligent building control devices connected to the gateway through a centralized hub. The Node.JS is 40% faster than the traditional web server side features thread-based approach. The use of Node.js server-side handles a large number of clients' requests, then therefore, reduces delay in performing predefined actions automatically in intelligent building IoT environment.

  • 본 논문은 IoT 환경에서 MQTT 대량 브로커와 대량 클라이언트간 효율적인 접속을 지원하기 위해 대량 접속처리 기능을 제공하는 CA(Connectionb Agent)를 포함한 MQTT 메시지 서버를 설계, 구현하였다. MTQQ 프로토콜은 MQTT 브로커와 MQTT 클라이언트로 구성되며, 각 MQTT 클라이언트는 MQTT 브로커의 중재를 받아 Pub/Sub 방식으로 메시지를 상호 전송한다. 이를 위해 MQTT 프로토콜은 MQTT 브로커와 MQTT 클라이언트 간 접속기능만을 제공한다. 실험결과에서 MQTT 메시지 서버는 초당 평균 12,500 건의 클라이언트 접속요청을 처리하였고, 20만건의 접속요청 처리에 16초가 소요되었다.

  • This service uses beacon with BLE technology, and USER APP has priority with Anchor IPS which secures location and device. Since then, it has been linked with character beacons that can be used in various places. The character beacon which is recognized as a service is able to confirm the user's location through API key of the LBS CMS server, and receives various contents services of the UESR CMS server. The service network consists of character beacon, Anchor IPS, USER APP, LBS CMS server, and USER CMS server. The purpose of the service is to promote local tourism and local culture to tourists through local unique characters.

  • Radio base stations, which are widely distributed across large areas, have many difficulties in managing them. Unmanned radio base stations in remote mountains are having a hard time accessing them in case of emergencies. Major telephone service providers only remotely control incoming and outgoing information and local small business partners responsible for maintaining actual facilities do not possess such technologies, so they are each checked during field visits. In this study, in order to monitor temperature, humidity, fire condition, and power operation at a wide range of radio base stations, real-time monitoring is carried out at the office of Klaus server through real-time monitoring.

  • Many IoT devices like sensors lack screen and input devices, thus making them hard to meet the consent conditions that GDPR requires. This is acting as a legal barrier for further advancement in the business field. In this paper, we designed the process for consent of personal information collection that meets the legal conditions. In this design, user's personal data is received in an encrypted form by data collecting server first. The encrypted personal data can be decrypted after associating with user agent based on the consent procedure of the collection of personal information. During the consent procedure, user agent understands the privacy policy about personal information collection and offers the key to decrypt the data. This kind of personal information collection agreement procedure will satisfy the transparent and freely given consent requirements of GDPR. Thus, we can speculate from here that the proposed procedure will contribute to the evolution of IoT business area dealing with personal information.

  • In this paper, we developed a vehicle control terminal using IoT and low-power long-distance communication (NB-IoT) technology. This system collects information on the location and status of a parked vehicle, and transmits the vehicle status to the vehicle owner's terminal in real time with low power to prevent vehicle theft, and in the case of a vehicle in motion, When primary information about the vehicle, such as an impact, is collected and transmitted to the server, the server analyzes the relevant data to generate secondary information on traffic congestion, road damage, and safety accidents. By sending it, you can know the exact arrival time of the vehicle at its destination. This terminal device is an IoT gateway for a vehicle and can be connected to various wired and wireless sensors inside the vehicle. In addition, the data collected from vehicle maintenance, efficient operation, and vehicles can be usefully used in the private or public sector.

  • The purpose of this study is to design a process for developing wearable sports helmet devices by utilizing IoT server technology, focusing on sports where helmet wear is essential at sports sites. This enables customized training of athletes by continuously accumulating personal biometric information during training, checking players' condition based on data, and informing them of injury prevention and dangerous situations. In addition, the wearable device that can be useful when the training place is likely to damage the physical health due to heat waves or extremes can provide a foundation for improving the performance. Since such technology can be applied not only to the sports field but also to the society such as the industrial field or the underprivileged, it can be expected to be expandable.

IoT-based Indoor Localization Scheme (IoT 기반의 실내 위치 추정 기법)

  • This paper is about IoT(Internet of Things)-based indoor localization scheme. GPS and WiFi are widely used to estimate the location of things. However, GPS has drawback of poor reception and radio disturbance in doors. To estimate the location in WiFi-based method, the user collects the information by scanning nearby WiFi(s) and transferring the information to WiFi database server. This is a fingerprint method with disadvantage of having an additional DB server. IoT is the internetworking of things, and this is on rapid rise. I propose the IoT-based indoor localization scheme. Under the proposed method, a device internetworking with another device with its own location information like GPS coordinate can estimate its own location through RSSI. With more devices localizing its own, the localization accuracy goes high. The proposed method allows the user to estimate the location without GPS and WiFi DB server.

  • It is difficult to apply authentication methods of existing wired or wireless networks to Internet of Things (IoT) devices due to their poor environment, low capacity, and low-performance processor. In particular, there are many problems in applying methods such as blockchain to the IoT environment. In this paper, edge computing is used to serve as a server that authenticates disposable templates among biometric information in an IoT environment. In this environment, we propose a lightweight and strong authentication procedure using the IoT-edge computing (IoT-EC) system based on elliptic curve cryptographic (ECC) and evaluate its safety.
