  • Smart factory has the function of integrated management of production process management, logistics management as a intelligent factory, it is also emerging as the core of new industry which converges ICT and manufacturing business. We suggested Smart factory logistics management system which embedded position tracking technology and the system converges ICT and IoT. This suggested system can manage all the processes from production to release by tracking route and position based on signal strength of bluetooth 4.0 beacon tag. For the more, we will expect to apply to the various type of factory environments like detachable installation, optimized management using sensor.

  • Edge computing 환경에서는 노드끼리 직접 또는 간접적으로 전송되는 많은 수의 데이터가 Computing 노드에 의해 수집된다. Computing 노드에 실시간 적으로 전송되어지는 데이터의 저장 및 처리를 위해 기계학습(Machine learning) 기법이 사용된다. 기존의 기계학습 모델의 학습방법의 경우 Edge computing 노드의 지능화에 다소 맞지 않는 방법이며 노드들 간의 협업 시스템을 기계학습 모델에 구축하는 것 또한 중요개선사항 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 Edge computing 환경에서 적용 가능한 기계학습 모델을 조사하였다. 본 조사를 통하여 향후 edge computing 환경에서의 제약사항에 대해 더 구체적이며 다양한 연구방향을 제시할 수 있으며 효율적인 모델 적용을 목표로 한다.

  • At present, the world is witnessing a rapid change in all the fields of human civilization business interests and goals of all the sectors are changing very fast. Global changes are taking place quickly in all fields - manufacturing, service, agriculture, and external sectors. There are plenty of hurdles in the emerging technologies in agriculture in the modern days. While adopting such technologies as transparency and trust issues among stakeholders, there arises a pressurized necessity on food suppliers because it has to create sustainable systems not only addressing demand-supply disparities but also ensuring food authenticity. Recent studies have attempted to explore the potential of technologies like blockchain and practices for smart and sustainable agriculture. Besides, this well-researched work investigates how a scientific cum technological blockchain architecture addresses supply chain challenges in Precision Agriculture to take up challenges related to transparency traceability, and security. A robust registration phase, efficient authentication mechanisms, and optimized data management strategies are the key components of the proposed architecture. Through secured key exchange mechanisms and encryption techniques, client's identities are verified with inevitable complexity. The confluence of IoT and blockchain technologies that set up modern farms amplify control within supply chain networks. The practical manifestation of the researchers' novel blockchain architecture that has been executed on the Hyperledger network, exposes a clear validation using corroboration of concept. Through exhaustive experimental analyses that encompass, transaction confirmation time and scalability metrics, the proposed architecture not only demonstrates efficiency but also underscores its usability to meet the demands of contemporary Precision Agriculture systems. However, the scholarly paper based upon a comprehensive overview resolves a solution as a fruitful and impactful contribution to blockchain applications in agriculture supply chains.

Performance of Battery-less Backscatter Sensor Networks Based on Good Channel Sensing (채널 센싱 기반의 무전원 백스케터 센서 네트워크의 성능)

  • In this paper, we studied a spectrum sensing algorithm for the efficient use of available spectrum in RF energy harvesting system combined with backscatter communication. We first looked for white spaces and then, selected low fading channel among white spaces using spectrum sensing algorithm at a transmitter. The transmitter employing the algorithm alleviates signal interference and improves the received signal strength indication through signals transmitted by low fading channel. The proposed RF energy harvesting system combined with backscatter communication is used the transmitter employing the algorithm. As a result of computer simulations, we can find the performance improvements of RF energy harvesting, BER of backscatter communication, and the received signal strength per distance of backscatter tag.

An Efficient Object Augmentation Scheme for Supporting Pervasiveness in a Mobile Augmented Reality

  • Pervasive augmented reality (AR) technology can be used to efficiently search for the required information regarding products in stores through text augmentation in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment. The evolution of context awareness and image processing technologies are the main driving forces that realize this type of AR service. One of the problems to be addressed in the service is that augmented objects are fixed and cannot be replaced efficiently in real time. To address this problem, a real-time mobile AR framework is proposed. In this framework, an optimal object to be augmented is selected based on object similarity comparison, and the augmented objects are efficiently managed using distributed metadata servers to adapt to the user requirements, in a given situation. To evaluate the feasibility of the proposed framework, a prototype system was implemented, and a qualitative evaluation based on questionnaires was conducted. The experimental results show that the proposed framework provides a better user experience than existing features in smartphones, and through fast AR service, the users are able to conveniently obtain additional information on products or objects.

Implementation of a Sensor Fusion FPGA for an IoT System (사물인터넷 시스템을 위한 센서 융합 FPGA 구현)

  • In this paper, a Kalman filter-based sensor fusion filter that measures posture by calibrating and combining information obtained from acceleration and gyro sensors was proposed. Recent advancements in sensor network technology have required sensor fusion technology. In the proposed approach, the nonlinear system model of the filter is converted to a linear system model through a Jacobian matrix operation, and the measurement value predicted via Euler integration. The proposed filter was implemented at an operating frequency of 74 MHz using a Virtex-6 FPGA Board from Xilinx Inc. Further, the accuracy and reliability of the measured posture were validated by comparing the values obtained using the implemented filters with those from existing filters.

  • In these days, cloud environments such as cloud platforms, cloud services like Amazon AWS, IBM Bluemix are used in the Internet of Things for providing efficient services. These cloud platform environments have various security threats according to increasing of use, so the recent research results on cloud security and privacy protection technologies and related regimes and legislations are written in this paper and we suggest prospect of research on cloud platform environment security and privacy preserving.

  • With the development of intelligent technologies, the Internet of Things(IoT) has been applied to various applications. A platform technology including a sensor-server-DB for easily managing data at a remote site is required. In this paper, we implemented a servo motor control system that moves by the smart phone tilt value using NodeJS and MongoDB. The system consists of Rasberry Pi, servo motor and smart phone and the servo motor sensor data is transmitted to NodeJS so that data can be stored in database.

  • 본 논문에서는 사물인터넷(Internet of Things, IoT)에 적용되어 사용될 수 있는 다중 게이트웨이 환경에서 각 게이트웨이의 자원 상황에 따라 종단 노드를 클라우드 단으로 직접 트레이드하여 처리함으로서 게이트웨이의 자원 소모를 줄이고 높은 처리량을 요구하는 종단 노드를 빠르게 처리 가능한 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 해당 기법의 효율성 입증을 위하여 클라우드 컴퓨팅이라는 대규모 환경을 가정하여 실험을 진행하였으며, 해당 실험의 결과에 따르면 높은 처리량을 요구하는 종단 노드를 클라우드 단에 트레이드하여 직접 처리함으로서 클라우드 단 하부의 다중 게이트웨이의 자원 소모율 감소 및 데이터 처리 속도가 증대 되었음을 확인할 수 있다.

Review of Exposure Assessment Methodology for Future Directions (노출평가 방법론에 대한 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래)

  • Public interest has been increasing the focus on the management of exposure to pollutants and the related health effects. This study reviewed exposure assessment methodologies and addressed future directions. Exposure can be assessed by direct (exposure monitoring) or indirect approaches (exposure modelling). Exposure modelling is a cost-effective tool to assess exposure among individuals, but direct personal monitoring provides more accurate exposure data. There are several population exposure models: stochastic human exposure and dose simulation (SHEDS), air pollutants exposure (APEX), and air pollution exposure distributions within adult urban population in Europe (EXPOLIS). A South Korean population exposure model is needed since the resolution of ambient concentrations and time-activity patterns are country specific. Population exposure models could be useful to find the association between exposure to pollutants and adverse health effects in epidemiologic studies. With the advancement of sensor technology and the internet of things (IoT), exposure assessment could be applied in a real-time surveillance system. In the future, environmental health services will be useful to protect and promote human health from exposure to pollutants.
