  • In the 21st century, Korea had radical economic development with accelerating urban sprawl, and following declination with social polarization. City declination makes socially vulnerable people unstable and increase homelessness. The projects revitalizing decayed area utilize local idle spaces to build new facility with creative supportive programs. The purpose of this study is to analyze inclusive characteristics of a supportive housing 'The Brook'. A field visit walk through observation and in-depth interview were utilized as research methods. The information of a representative supportive housing field will promote understanding the concept, and create base for further research. As results, state and knowhow of information concerning housing first policy, active government investment, space planning, management, social integration, service providing, architecture and so on offered to facilitate inclusive insights. In conclusion, the characteristics of supportive housing were realistically analyzed through a field research. This research is significant to introduce initially the effective supportive housing which has been practiced for 30 years in USA to that needs alternatives for the socially vulnerable in Korea.

  • This paper presents GDOCF(Government Document Enterprise Architecture Framework) based on the direction of EA(Enterprise Architecture) framework to build GDOCEA. The construction of EA for GDOC offered various types of information technology Platform which advanced the interoperability between Government Information Systems. In addition, it insured the interoperability between the e-Government Initiatives and helped a consistent management for information resource. As a result, MOGAHA could support a policy decision and capital investment plan for information. Also, all the information needed for the operation and management of GDOC has been being referenced, shared and utilized as EA repository. Eventually Pilot EA would be a corner stone to build EA master plan considering all the information systems in MOGAHA.

  • This study aims to reconsider public architecture as effective resources for the local regeneration and draws a couple of issues based on analysis of planning status and cases from the perspectives of local regeneration. Through the analysis, this study suggests following as ways of improvement of public architecture planning: first, in order to secure systematic management of local regeneration, it is necessary to build up a dedicated organization or collaboration system that organically links and manages public facilities. Also related criteria that include the feasibility study, preliminary examination system, conduct review of investment and review standards need to be supplemented. Second, it is necessary to establish an integrated plan including the periphery of public architecture in the aspect of integrated urban planning, and to set up a selection of location standard that supports public architecture be a local center. Lastly, to activate local communities, the study proposes diversification of ways of combining programs and a process for participation and operating funds.

  • The need for a system to promote the effectiveness of national R&D investment has become an important issue. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI) is developing National Science and Technology Information System(NTIS) to meet this need. For the consistency of IT strategy and to promote more effective IT investment the NTIS have been established Information Technology Architecture (ITA). NTIS is the system for coordination outcomes of each R&D centers. This case study's contents are the process of NTIS ITA establishment, the major contents and the effectiveness of NTIS ITA.

  • In order to make good educational circumstance of the Technical High-school, it is important that we must aware of the characteristics of technical high-school and take all considerations into the planning. This study is to plan the architectural space and path of flow in practice rooms through questionnare survey. The result are as follow. A majority of respondents recognize that the existing facility and space condition are not appropriate, because the past investment has overemphasized on the quantitative aspect. It is time to need the change of its directions toward the quantitative investment in future. It is also necessary to plan the space and the path of flow of the practice rooms in consideration of the characteristics of school.

  • Differing from civil engineering and construction, landscape architecture projects are far from efforts in operation and project management. Under the circumstances, it is worthwhile to adopt scope definition from project management for construction and civil engineering in some respects. First, scope definition is able to be conducted through a simple procedure without additional investment in capital and time. Second, the output produced by scope definition is very substantial. The research scrutinized scope definition procedures accompanied by landscape architecture project execution and derived various methods in order to help scope definition for efficient landscape architecture projects. Based on the literature review, a design case study, and an exert interview, the project success elements were developed consisting of 3 sections, 8 categories and 50 elements, grounded on the theoretical base of PDRI. The elements are expected to pave a way to an adequate level of scope definition among participants of landscape architecture projects and contribute in efficient project execution.

  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which supports various features such as interoperability and reusability of IT resources, comes into the spotlight as an effective approach for adapting new business environmental changes. SOA, however, has some problems including the high realization complexity and low Return on Investment (ROI). To solve these problems, Web Oriented Architecture (WOA) has gained attention. However, it also has some drawbacks about security concerns and unstable message transmissions. In this paper, we design a novel integrated architecture that classifies services into inside and outside ones and applies SOA for the former and WOA for the latter, respectively. By converging the advantages of SOA and WOA simultaneously, the proposed architecture becomes more simple and service-oriented, and can satisfy diverse requirements of customers. The usefulness evaluation of the proposed architecture is conducted through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) scheme.

  • This study investigates the main characteristics of Chinese automobile industry based on the technology learning, architecture theory and cluster. As a case study sample, we chose three most representative automobile firms from three main cities in China, FAW from northern part of China, SAIC from middle part of China, and BYD from southern part of China. According to the research findings, FAW has equipped self-production ability in virtue of political support but felled behind in future transportation due to lack of convergence with local cluster. In case of SAIS, similar phenomenon happened in spite of highest purchasing power of shanghai. BYD has achieved great quantum jump through the aggressive investment strategy in electric vehicle even though there are still many technological learning and experience to be cumulated. Overall, this research extends the current literature on key roles (technological learning, architecture, and cluster features) in the automobile industry growth by suggesting their crucial aspects in knowledge management and strategic planning to a newly emerging market, China, and sheds light on the relationship between regional characteristics and automobile growth.

  • The current automotive industry is transitioning from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to Electric Vehicles (EVs), adopting a mixed assembly production approach to respond to fluctuating demand. While mixed assembly production offers the advantages of lower investment costs and flexibility in responding to changing demands, the supply of EV components requires more extensive provisioning compared to ICE vehicle components, potentially leading to unexpected issues such as congestion of transport vehicles. This study proposes a digital twin system architecture that uses Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to specifically address logistics challenges. The proposed architecture facilitates real-time, data-driven decision making across three layers; Data source, Simulation, and BI. It was implemented in factories engaged in the mixed assembly production of ICE and EV vehicles. The simulation challenges involve a tier 1 vendor supplying parts to Korean automobile manufacturers that produce both ICE and EV parts. A total of 240 scenarios were created to run the simulations. The deployment of the proposed architecture demonstrates its capability to quickly respond to diverse experimental situations and promptly identify potential issues.
