Design of a Robust Control System Using the Fuzzy-LQ Control Technique (퍼지-LQ 제어 기법을 이용한 강인한 제어시스템의 설계)

  • The conventional control techniques based a mathematical model are not well suited for dealing with ill-defined and uncertain system like a linear quadratic control. Recently, fuzzy control has been successfully applied to a wide variety of practical problems such as robot, water purification, automatic train operation system etc. In this paper, a design technique of robust Fuzzy-LQ controller for each subsystem is designed. Secondly , all the subsystem controllers are combined by fuzzy weighted averaging method. Finally the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through a series of computer simulations for an inverted pole system.

  • 한전 전력연구원이 주관하고 (주)효성이 참여하는 협동 연구의 형태로 진행된 연구과제의 결과물로써 100MVA급 STATCOM에 사용될 인버터 폴이 설계, 제작되었다. 100MVA STATCOM 인버터 폴은 순수 국내 기술로 설계, 제작되었으며, (주)효성 안양공장 H-Bridge 시험장에서 전압, 전류 시험 및 Heatrun 시험을 완료 하였다. 본 논문에서는 100MVA STATCOM 인버터 폴의 시스템 구성, 시험방법 및 실증시험에 대하여 정리하였다.

  • To analyze influences under open faults in switching devices of the PWM inverter and under the isolation between the inverter and motor terminal, a faulty model for the inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented. Even though the conventional dq motor model obtained through the transformation of phase voltage model is widely used to analyze and control AC motor, it can not be used under open faults in switching devices since the 3-phase balanced condition is no longer hold under the open fault and it is not easy to obtain motor input voltages in open phase from the pole voltage. To deal with this problem, a faulty model for an inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is derived by using the line voltage of motor according to switch open, which can be effectively used for performance evaluation of the diagnostic algorithm. The validity of the proposed faulty model is verified through comparative simulations and experiments using DSP TMS320F28335.

  • In this paper, a novel fault detection method for fault tolerant control is proposed when the NPC inverter has a open failure in the switching device. The open fault of switching device is detected by checking the variation of a leg-voltage in the neutral-point-clamped inverter and the two phases control method is used for continuously balance the three phases voltage to the load. It can be achieve the fault tolerant control for improving the reliability of the NPC inverter by the fault detection and reconfiguration. This method has fast detection ability and a simple realization for fault detection, compared with a conventional method. Also, this fast detection ability improved the harmful effects such as DC-link voltage unbalance and overstress to other switching devices from a delay of fault detection. The proposed method has been verified by simulation and experiment.

  • In this paper, a novel overmodulation strategy for PWM inverters to extend linearity region is presented. The proposed strategy uses the concept of space-vector PWM(SVPWM) based on the zero sequence signal(offset voltage) injection principle. So, by modifying the pole voltage simply, the linear control of inverter output voltage over the whole overmodulation range can be achieved easily. The proposed strategy is so simple that its practical implementation is easy. The validity of the proposed strategy is confirmed by the experimental results.

Design of filters with double coupled line for PCS (이중결합선로를 이용한 PCS용 여파기의 설계)

  • We propose comb-line filter using SIR(Stepped Impedance Resonator) with two transmission line. The coupling structure of the filter is double coupled line where two coupled lines are linked with cascade. We find out the inverter function of the filter. using even and odd mode impedance. The merits of the filter are that first, we can design transmission zero point at any frequency that we wanted without using lumped elements : chip capacitors and inductors. Second, we can design small size filters. To validate the inverter function of the filter with double coupled line we designed and fabricated two-pole band pass filter with the proposed filter structure.

An On-Line Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation Scheme for Voltage Source Inverter

  • This paper proposes a new harmonic elimination PWM (HEPWM) scheme for voltage source inverters (VSI) based on the curve fittings of certain polynomials functions. The resulting equations to calculate the switching angle of the HEPWM require only the addition and multiplication processes; therefore any number of harmonics to be eliminated and the fundamental amplitude of the pole switching waveform (NP1) can be controlled on-line. An extensive angle error analysis is carried out to determine the accuracy of the algorithm in comparison to the exact solution. To verify the workability of the technique, an experimental single phase VSI is constructed. The algorithm is implemented on a VSI using a 16-bit microprocessor. The results obtained from the test rig are compared to the theoretical prediction and the results of the MATLAB simulations.

  • this paper suggest a new space vector PWM modulation method with short processing time which does not need idenfication of nearest three vectors(NTV) and duty calculation for each vector. The suggested PWM method makes mean value of phase voltage to be same as reference during every modulation period by use of a triangle in small hexagon on multi-level vector space. This paper described the suggested modulation method can be successfully applied to the space vector modulation use of multi-level inverter by computer simulations and experiments.

  • This study presents a model of a drivetrain for an integrated design of a light electric vehicle (EV). For the drivetrain of each front wheel of the single-person, battery-powered EV tricycle consists of a battery, an inverter, and an outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), which is connected to an in-wheel gearbox. The efficiency of the inverter, motor, and gearbox is analyzed over the New European Driving Cycle. To calculate the losses and efficiency of the PMSM, the power electronics in the inverter and gearbox are used. The analytical models provide a fast, but less accurate result, useful for optimization purposes. To accurately predict the efficiency of the PMSM, a finite element model is used. The models are validated by test setups. Correspondingly, a good agreement between the measurements and the calculated results is achieved. A parameter study is performed to investigate the influence of the detailed component parameters (i.e., outer rotor radius, gear ratio, and number of pole pairs and stator slots) on the average efficiency of the drivetrain.

Half Wavelength Partial H-Plane Filter with Inverters having Attenuation Poles (감쇄극 인버터를 이용한 반파장 Partial H-Plane 여파기)

  • This paper presents half wavelength partial H-plane filters with multiple attenuation poles using narrow H-plane slot of evanescent waveguide. The narrow H-plane slot operates as an admittance inverter o( the bandpass filter and, simultaneously, generates an attenuation pole at particular frequency. Therefore, proposed filters with attenuation poles are simply implemented without any additional coupling and extra modification of the structure. The number of attenuation poles of the filters equals to that of the H-plane slots. Moreover, proposed filters are compact waveguide filter since ones are embodied by partial H-plane waveguide which has 1/4 cross section of conventional waveguide. The third and fourth-order half wavelength filters having 4 and 5 attenuation poles, respectively, are designed in H-band and their frequency responses are confirmed by simulation and measurement.
