Recently, more power facilities are needed to cope with the increasing electric demand. However, the additional construction of generators, transmission and distribution installations is not easy because of environmental problems and citizen's complaints. Under this circumstance, a microgrid system with distributed renewable resources emerges as an alternative of the traditional power systems. Moreover, the configuration of power system changes with more DC loads and more DC installations. This paper is written to introduce an idea of a genetic algorithm-based solution to determine the optimal capacity of the distributed generators depending on the types of system configuration: AC-link, DC-link and Hybrid-link types. In this paper, photovoltaic, wind turbine, energy storage system and diesel generator are considered as distributed generators and the feasibility of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparing the calculated capacity of each distributed resource with HOMER simulation results for 3 types of system configuration.

Recently KS documents related to lightning protection were revised complying with the requirements of IEC standards. Lightning protection parts are divided three in IEC, those are arrestor(60099), SPD(61643), and protection facilities(62305). According as international standard is applicable in Korea, type tests, routine tests, and acceptance tests shall be made to demonstrate compliance with the relevant standards. KESRI have installed test equipment which is funded by Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy fit for lightning surge test form 2002, and we introduce the test equipments in detail.

Recently, the development of u-City and u-City services have been actively pursued by individual local government bodies in South Korea. This study focuses on the development of u-Health service, one of the services of u-City, by studying u-Health services in development (domestic and foreign) and by analyzing and proposing the communication infrastructure required to provide such services. Mainly, this study will focus on analyzing the current trend in personal mobile device based u-Health services domestically and internationally, and propose a new type of u-Health service, u-Diet service. The study will introduce the architecture, service scenario, technologies, characteristics, and the business model for the u-Diet service. It is expected that this study will provide the guideline for developing new u-Health services.

In this paper, we introduce a platform of advanced multiple antenna system based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). The advanced multiple antennas have beamforming gain using array antenna. In array antenna systems, received signal has phase delay caused distance of each antennas, therefore it should compensate with optimum weight vector which calculated by Lagrange algorithm. To implement the presented above procedures using Digital Signal Processor (DSP), we should fixed-point design. The performance of implemented platform is verified through MATLAB$^{(R)}$ simulations with various signal environments.

This article describes a design and implementation of low power consumption wireless sensor network platform for intelligent motorway monitoring. There are many dangerous situations on motorway, foggy weathers, rapidly changes of temperature, etc. We designed a system for monitoring motorway environment for report dangerous situation. We introduce this system and its lowpower consumption characteristics which important to battery based system.

In this paper, we introduce the positioning methods using the grid sensor network. The basic operational principle of grid sensor network can be the wireless communication using the sensor node attached on the objects. Sink node receives the environmental information (e.g., temperature, humidity and so on), and transmits the information to the core database. Since the grid sensor network basically uses wireless communication, it is necessary to observe the place where grid sensor nodes to be installed. In this sense, we carried out the practical measurement on the wireless propagation in an applicable field. In addition, link budget study and SNR estimation works were done in accordance with the results from the measurement.

The purpose of this research is to introduce the best practice of the Japanese national dementia strategy and explore implications to the Korean national dementia strategy. Interview was conducted among professions those who is in charge of Kumamoto dementia care practice in Kumamoto province, upon review of related literature and public documents. The Kumamoto model is implemented by the department of neuropsychiatry in public university hospitals, which can offer dementia-specialized medical services. Medical centers for dementia in public university hospitals play a leading role for managing practice and training local dementia centers specialist, coordinating medical services among medical institutions and community welfare facilities. In reference to the Kumamoto model, the Korean national dementia strategy can find implications in the direction of current system, specifically its approaches toward policy governance.

Approximately 25% of military establishments became superannuated to unable perform their function, and it influences on the environment by construction wastes and the waste of national budget, as there is no rational and objective standard even though old facilities have been replaced through modernization project. Therefore, it has been searched to introduce industrial building system that can cope with the new building-construction and transference for the improvement of existing military establishments. However, as there is no economical estimation standard for practical use, industrial building-construction is still remaining at the initial stage, and the study is insufficient too. So. in this study, I would like to develope LCC cost model for rational LCC comparative analysis between industrial construction system (Modular) and existing reinforced concrete structure and cage, and to evaluate economical efficiency through case analysis.

Recent observation of the neutron star merger event, GW170817, through both gravitational wave (GW) and electromagnetic wave (EM) observations opened a new way of exploring the universe, namely, multi-messenger astronomy (MMA). One of the keys to the success of MMA is a rapid identification of EM counterpart. We will introduce the strategy for prioritization of GW source host galaxy candidates. Our method relies on recent simulation results regarding plausible properties of GW source host galaxies and the low latency localization map from LIGO/Virgo. We will show the test results for both NS merger and BH merger events using previous events and describe observing strategy with our facilities for GW events during the ongoing LIGO/Virgo O3 run. Finally, we report the result of follow-up observation on, the first neutron star merger event, S190425z, during LIGO/VIrgo O3 run.

We will show a test result for both binary neutron star merger events using previous event and describe observing strategy with our facilities for GW events during the ongoing LIGO/Virgo O3 run. Finally, we report the results of optical/NIR follow-up observation of GW190425, the first neutron.
