This study was conducted to understand the degree of personality and interpersonal relationships among dental hygiene students. The survey was conducted from April 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021. As a result of the study, personality was 3.42 points and interpersonal relationships were 3.46 points. In general, there was a statistically significant difference in both personality and interpersonal subdomains in interpersonal satisfaction and college life satisfaction (p<.05, p<.001). The more experience they had in clinical practice, the lower their scores for friendship and professorship among interpersonal relationships. Among the sub-domains of personality, morality and sociality were analyzed as having the highest positive correlation (r=.674), and in interpersonal relationships, the relationship between friends and professors was analyzed as high (r=.606). Therefore, for the holistic growth of dental hygiene students as preliminary dental hygienists and their adaptation to the dental care field, a long-term strategy and continuous educational approach are needed at the university for cultivating character and interpersonal relationships, which are the basics. In addition, various programs related to the duties of dental hygienists should be developed and methods to be applied should be sought.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the perceived nursing work environment (NWE) on person-centered critical care nursing (PCCN) practices among nurses in intensive care units (ICUs). Methods : A cross-sectional research design was adopted for this study; participants were 126 ICU nurses working in five hospitals in B city. From December 2018 to February 2019, a survey questionnaire on NWE and PCCN were conducted. The collected data were analyzed with a multiple hierarchical regression analysis. Results : The mean score for NWE was $2.98{\pm}0.39$. Among the factors, basic work system was the highest ($3.39{\pm}0.41$), followed by leadership of the head nurse ($3.31{\pm}0.55$), interpersonal relationships ($2.77{\pm}0.62$), and institutional support ($2.58{\pm}0.52$). The mean score for PCCN was $3.52{\pm}0.46$. Among the factors, comfort was the highest ($3.77{\pm}0.62$), followed by respect ($3.55{\pm}0.56$), compassion ($3.43{\pm}0.60$), and individuality ($3.38{\pm}0.56$). The interpersonal relationship (${\beta}=.31$, p=.001) and the number of patients per shift (${\beta}=-.23$, p=.005) had a significant effect on PCCN, accounting for 25.9% of the total variance. Conclusion : These results suggest that it is necessary to enhance the relationship-oriented culture and reduce the workload of nurses in order to improve the quality of nursing care in ICUs.

The data were analyed using Pearson's correlation, t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: There were statistically significant differences in HRQoL to gender, age, marital state, and level of pain. HRQoL had significant correlations with ADL, IADL, relationship change, and depression. In regression analysis, depression, marital state, ADL, and level of pain explained 48% of the HRQoL. Conclusion: Findings of this study allow a comprehensive understanding of patients with traumatic hand injury. It is necessary to develop nursing intervention program for improving the health-related quality of life in patients with traumatic hand injury by considering psychological care for depression as well as physical care.

Method: Walker & Avant's concept analysis framework was employed to review the clinical guidelines, nursing text books, and nursing research articles which were related to spiritual care and published from 1985 to 2005. Result: The attributes of the concept of spiritual care were a three stage process such as spiritual assessment, spiritual intervention, and spiritual evaluation. Spiritual care included three dimensions of relationships such as transpersonal, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. The quality of spiritual care was dependent upon characteristics of care-givers such as perception and knowledge of spiritual care, and the clinical environment. The antecedents of spiritual care was spiritual needs due to the prompt events. The consequence of spiritual care was spiritual well-being. Conclusion: This concept analysis of spiritual care contributed to promote performance of spiritual care in clinical fields by removing conceptual ambiguity and confirming the true meaning of spiritual care.
We aimed to identify personal-interpersonal-social factors influencing Person-Centered Care Competence (PCCC) of senior grade nursing students based on King's dynamic interaction system model. The data were collected using online based questionnaires that contained items on ethical sensitivity, peer group care interaction, interpersonal competence, social support and PCCC. The participants were 242 4th grade nursing students who had undergone clinical practicum. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Multiple regression analysis with the SPSS 26.0. In the multiple regression analysis, interpersonal competence(β=0.42, p<.001) and social support(β=0.29, p<.001) were statistically significant factors that explained 44.1% of PCCC(F=23.77, p<.001). This study could provide basic data for the development of an intervention program to improve PCCC of senior nursing students.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effects of an empathy education program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: The study employed a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 46 nursing students were voluntarily recruited by convenience sampling from senior nursing students from the nursing department of K college in I city, Korea. Participants were divided into two groups, an experimental group of 23 and a control group of 23. The experimental intervention (empathy education program) was conducted from April 19 to May 6, 2016 and consisted of 150-minute sessions, twice a week, for 3 weeks for a total of 15 hours. Results: Participants demonstrated improvements in perspective taking in cognitive empathy, improved empathic concern in emotional empathy, and improved communicative empathy. Analysis of reflective writings identified four theme clusters regarding communicative empathy: improvement of empathic expression, experiencing comfort and healing, improvement of interpersonal relationships, and experience of conflict resolution. Improved interpersonal ability and caring were also identified.
