The Influence of Psychological Well-being on Spiritual Well-being: Mediating Effets of Resilience and Social Support (목회자 사모의 심리적 안녕감이 영적 안녕감에 미치는 영향: 회복탄력성과 사회적 지지의 매개효과)

  • This study investigated the mediating effects of resilience and social support on the association between psychological and spiritual well-being. The survey findings and resulting analysis of the 236 participants measured their psychological well-being, spiritual well-being, resilience, and social support follow: First, psychological well-being, resilience, and social support showed a positive correlation with spiritual well-being. Resilience shows high correlations with psychological and spiritual well-being. Second, the relationship between psychological and spiritual well-being was partially mediated by resilience, but was not mediated by social support. Lastly, the influence of resilience sub factors(self control capability, interpersonal relationship ability, positivity) on spiritual well-being shows that positivity was highly significant. Finally, this study discusses educational implications for increasing spiritual well-being for pastors' wives.

A Study on Health Promoting Lifestyle of Hospital Nurses (간호사의 건강증진 생활양식과 관련요인 연구)

  • The purpose of study was to assess how hospital nurses practice their health promoting lifestyle and to identify affecting factors. The subjects were 286 nurses working at three general hospitals in Kwang-ju. The data were collected by questionnaire from September 1st. to September 10th, 1999. The instruments for this study were the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile developed by Walker et al., perceived health status scale developed by Ware et al., self-efficacy scale developed by Sherer et al., and social support scale developed by Cohen et al.. The data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The mean score of health promoting lifestyle was 2.36. Interpersonal support showed the highest score(2.67) and health responsibility (1.92) showed the lowest score. The mean score of perceived health status was 3.07, self-efficacy was 2.62, and social support was 2.91. 2. The relationship between general characteristics of subjects and health promoting lifestyle showed significant differences according to duty cycle(t=4.15, p=.042), disease experience (t=5.18, p=.023), monthly income(F=3.13, p=.025), exercise frequency(F=9.12, p=.000), stress reliefe method(F=5.98, p=.000), job satisfaction(t=11.44, p=.000), and perceived fatigue(F=6.13, p=.002). 3. Health promoting lifestyle showed significant positive correlations with perceived health status (r=.2190, p=.0002), self-efficacy (r=.5137, p=.0001) and social support (r=.5181, p=.0001). 4. The combination of social support(27.1%), exercise frequency(10.4%), self-efficacy(8.8%), job satisfaction, perceived health status, perceived fatigue and explained 53.5% of the variance of health promoting lifestyle. Therefore, this study suggests that a replicate study is needed until more affecting factors other than health promoting lifestyle.

  • There are common features among successful entrepreneurs without regarding to the stages of startup like challenge, growth, leap and maturity stages. We know that the successful entrepreneurs have strong entrepreneurship and interpersonal competency through many experiences in the real field of startup ecosystem. Entrepreneurship has a positive effect on intention to start a business, and the importance of entrepreneurship in business startups has been found through many studies. In addition, in most curriculum of startup, entrepreneurship education is operated like an introduction to the startup education. However, in research on entrepreneurship and education on entrepreneurship, it is not easy to find other factors related to interpersonal competence except for leadership. In this study, we redefined relation-building competences in consideration of relation-building parts such as self-openness, affinity, communication, empathy and consideration among various competencies of interpersonal relations, and analyzed the difference of startup intention according to the degree of relation-building competences. As a result, there was a significant difference in the degree of relation-building competences between the group of start-up entrepreneurs and the group with no intention of starting a business. It was proved that the relation-building competences is important for entrepreneurs. Therefore, in addition to studying entrepreneurship, which is represented by conductivity, innovation, autonomy, and risk sensitivity, the studying of relationship-building competences should be continued. It is expected that various research results analyzing the relationship between startups and relationship-building competences will be reflected in entrepreneurship education.

The Effects of College Students' Life Events, Interpersonal Emotion, Psychological Hardiness, and Self-Control on College-Based Stress (대학생의 생활사건, 대인감정, 심리적 강인성, 자기통제력이 대학차원스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting college-based stress and develop stress-relieving educational programs. Data were collected from 169 students in G-province, from June 15th to july 15th, 2020. Analysis was done using IBM SPSS 21.0 for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple regression. College-based stress positively correlated with life event, life event importance, interpersonal emotion, and self-control. The most important factor affecting college-based stress was psychological hardiness (β=-.323, p<.001), followed by club activities (β=.237, p<.001), interpersonal conflict (β=.215, p=.001), grade-2 (β=-.203, p=.001), department adaptation (β=.161, p=.010), and age-21 (β=-.149, p=.024). The explanatory power was 44.4% (F=42.43, p<.001). The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for the development of educational programs for stress reduction at the university level. Therefore, educational programs considering age and grade, using club activities as support systems, and dealing with psychological hardiness and department adaptation are needed.

Study on Health Promoting Behavior Determinant of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 건강증진 행위 결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • This descriptive correlational study was conducted to identify the variables related to a health promoting behavior in nursing students. 238 nursing students were selected by a convenience sampling method. The data were collected by self - reported questionnaires from 12 to November 19, 2001. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficient, stepwise multiple regression with an SPSS program. The result of this study were as follows: 1. The average score of health promoting behavior was 2.47(SD=0.36)of a 4 point scale. Self actualization (mean=2.94, SD=0.50), interpersonal support (mean=2.91, SD=0.53), stress management(mean=2.58, SD=0.48), health responsibility(mean=2.07, SD=0.48)) nutrition & exercise(mean=2.07, SD=0.48)) were also analyzed. 2. Health promoting behavior showed significant positive correlations with self­esteem(r=0.446, p<0.001) perceived health status(r=0.180, p<0.01), perceived benefits (r=0.183. p<0.01). self-efficacy(r=0.311, p<0.001), social support(r=0.447, p<0.001), control(r=0.169, p<0.01). 3. The combination of self-esteem, social support, affect related to action explained $38.0\%$ of the variance in health promoting behavior. On the basis of the above findings. self-esteem and social support were identified as the variables which explained most of Pender's health promoting model. Nursing strategies enhancing self-esteem and social support which have a more significant effect on health promoting lifestyles should be developed.

An Analysis of Middle School Students' Resilience on Their School Adjustment (중학생의 회복탄력성과 학교적응성에 관한 실증적 인과관계 분석)

  • This study aims to draw the implication in improving middle school students' school adjustment and suggest policy methods for their school adjustment depending on the degree of social support. As a result of the research, it was found that middle school students' resilience factors such as self-control ability and interpersonal relationship ability had the influence on their impulse control, self-esteem, communication and self-expansion ability on their social competence. Emotional regulation, impulse control, self-esteem, communication and self-expansion ability had the influence on school adjustment. It was also known that middle school students' social competence had high influence on their school adjustment and their self-expansion ability had the highest influence on social competence. Middle school students' resilience factors such as emotional regulation, empathy and self-expansion ability may be different in their influence on social competence. Impulse control may be different depending on their school adjustment and a degree of social support, and social competence may be different depending on their school adjustment and a degree of social support.

Uncertainty, Social Support & Powerlessness in Mothers of Handicapped Children (장애아 어머니의 불확실성, 사회적 지지 및 무력감)

  • The purposes of this study were to measure the degree of perceived uncertainty, social support & powerlessness, to examine the relationship between the perceived uncertainty, social support & powerlessness and then to find the predictors of powerlessness in mother's of handicapped children. The subjects of this study consist of 102 mothers of handicapped children, registered at rehabilitation & handicapped children school. Data was collected from September 1998 to March 1999. The tools used in this study were Mishel's the Parents' Perception of Uncertainty Scale (28 item, 4 likert scale), Miller's Powerlessness measurement Scale(28 itewt 4 likert scale) & Cohen's Interpersonal Support Evaluation List (40 items, 4 likert scale). Data was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Duncan comparison, Pearson Correlation coefficient & Stepwise multiple regression Results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Mothers perceived their uncertainty to be slightly high(Mn 2.50). The degree of perceived uncertainty by the four components were followed as : lack of clarity(2.69), unpredictability(2.56), ambiguity(2.56) & lack of information(2.46). The degree of perceived uncertainty of the mothers of handicapped children revealed to be influenced significantly by age of children, admission experience, disability types of children. 2. The degree of mothers' powerlessness was measured to be slightly high(Mn 2.14). The degree of perceived powerlessness of the mothers with handicapped children revealed to be influenced significantly by age of children, duration of illness admission experience,8E marital status of the mothers. 3. Mothers perceived their social support to be slightly high(Mn 2.71). The degree of perceived social support revealed to be influenced significantly by sex of children, married state of mothers. 4. Mothers' uncertainty was related positively to the mothers' powerlessness(r=.33, p=.0008). And also mothers' powerlessness was related inversely to social support(r=-.50, p=.0001). But, mothers' uncertainty was not related to social support significantly. 5. To analyze the variables which affect powerlessness, stepwise regression was implemented. As a result, about 61% of the powerlessness were explained by social support, marital status of the mothers and perceived uncertainty. Based upon these results, it is recommended that the nurses, who are caring handicapped children and their families, provide various support programs for them to overcome their difficulties. Also programs which decrease the uncertainty & powerlessness used social support multidimensionally & individually are recommended to be developed.

A Study on Childcare Teacher's Career Happiness according to Personal and Organizational Variables (어린이집 교사의 개인변인과 기관변인에 따른 직업행복감 연구)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the condition of career happiness according to personal and organizational variables of childcare teachers. Methods: For this purpose, a total of 1,035 teachers were surveyed. The validity of the career happiness survey tool was examined through previous research, expert review, and factor analysis. Results: The results of the study are as follows. The individual variables influencing career happiness of childcare teachers were mainly age, and there was a difference in the career happiness of teachers over 40 years old and teachers under 29 years old. Second, the teachers at home daycare centers showed a high level of interpersonal relationships and working hours. The teachers at workplace daycare centers have a good balance between work and life, and teachers at corporate group daycare centers have a high sense of happiness about income. The childcare teacher's career happiness was generally higher than infant teachers, and the support of the assistant teacher had an effect on the career Happiness of the teachers. Conclusion/Implications: The results suggest that separate teacher support is needed to increase the career happiness of teachers according to their age and institutional variables.

A Study of Factors Influencing Health Promoting Behaviors in Nursing Students (일 지역 간호대학생의 건강증진행위와 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing Health Promoting Behavior(HPB) of nursing students. Method: The sample consisted of 418 college nursing students in G city. data collection method was a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean score for HPB was 2.48. In the subcategories, the highest degree of performance was interpersonal relationship and the lowest degree was exercise. HPB was significantly different according to economic status of parents, health concern of parents, and body mass index. The most powerful predictor of HPB was self esteem(33%). A combination of self esteem, social support, self efficacy and perceived health status accounted for 43% of the variance in HPB of nursing students. Conclusion: This study suggests that self esteem, social support, self efficacy and perceived health status are significantly influencing factors in HPB of nursing students.

Effects of the supportive nursing care on the chronic arthritis patients : outcomes of the treatment for 8-week followup. (만성 관절염환자의 지지간호 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the supportive nursing care for arthritis patients enrolled in a rheumatoid clinic. To achieve this purpose, this study adopted a quasi-experimental, pre- and post-test research design, categorized subjects into experimental and control groups. Outpatient clinic nurse alloted the subjects by experimental and control groups and nurse researcher meets the experimental subject with in-depth, direct personal interview and advices via telephone for 8 weeks. During this pre and after the treatment period, the level of pain, uncertainty, self-efficacy, family support, and perception for health were measured. Analyses for the measured results for pre- and post-test showed that the supportive program conducted during this study decreased the level of uncertainty and increased the perception of family support in experimental group. So, the supportive healing interpersonal communication service proved to be effective and this result justifies the argument that the role of the nursing professionals at out-patient clinic should be extended for the more qualified care for the patient.
