혼종모형을 이용한 한국인의 영적건강 개념분석 (Concept analysis of Korean spiritual health: Using a hybrid model)

  • Purpose: This study is a qualitative study that investigated the nature of Koreans' spiritual health using a hybrid model, clarifying the definition and attributes of the concept. Methods: The nature and definition of Koreans' spiritual health were identified through a review of the extensive literature at the theoretical stage and then compared with an analysis of the in-depth interview data conducted by the researcher in the fieldwork stage. Results: Koreans' spiritual health comprised nine attributes: awareness of the meaning and purpose of life, self-awareness, self-acceptance and recognition, self-transcendence, self-integration, harmony of relationships, self-actualization and development, the inner affective attributes of hope, happiness, fulfillment and thankful mind, and the interpersonal affective attributes of one connected mind, compassion, generosity and humility. The scope of the Absolute is expanded to 'heaven' and 'ancestors', and harmony with the community is emphasized. Conclusion: We have found that Koreans' spiritual health is important for total nursing care and that mental, social and physical health can be improved if spiritual health is promoted. Considering this point, personal and organizational efforts are needed to ensure that spiritual nursing is positively applied in community and clinical settings.

간호대학생의 대인관계, 자기효능감, 학과만족도 비교 -수업연한 4년제 전문대학 간호과와 4년제 간호학과 중심으로- (A comparative study on interpersonal relationship, self-efficacy, and department satisfaction of students majoring in nursing: focus on a four-year technical college and university)

  • 본 연구는 수업연한 4년제 간호대학생의 대인관계, 자기효능감 및 학과만족도를 조사하고, 학과만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하여 4년제 간호대학생과의 차이점을 비교하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 4년제 교육과정을 운영하는 2개 전문대학과 3개의 4년제 간호대학 재학생 372명이며, 2015년 9월 7일~11월 30일까지 설문조사 하였고, 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, Stepwise multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 학과만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 수업연한 4년제 전문대학은 간호학 전공만족도(${\beta}$=-.509, p<.001), 대인관계조화(${\beta}$=.410, p<.001), 학업성적(${\beta}$=.119, p=.022)으로 60%의 설명력을 보였으며, 4년제 간호대학은 간호학 전공만족도(${\beta}$=-.438, p<.001), 간호학 지원동기(${\beta}$=-.128, p=.011), 대인관계조화(${\beta}$=.403, p<.001)이었으며 50%의 설명력을 보였다. 결론적으로 타인과의 조화로운 대인관계가 학과적응도를 높일 수 있으므로 대인관계조화프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

  • 인간은 여러 가지의 관점에서 정의될 수 있다. 첫째는 생물학적인 측면이며, 두 번째는 심리적인 측면이며, 세 번째는 사회적인 측면이다. 생물학적인 측면과 심리적인 측면은 인간내적(intrapersonal)인 면을 다루고, 사회적인 측면은 대인관계(interpersonal)적인 면을 다루고 있다. 인간의 행동이나 정신병리에 대하여는 그 동안 수많은 이론과 가설들이 있어왔으나 몸(body)과 마음(mind), 인간내적인 면과 대인관계적인 면을 동시에 통괄적으로 설명하는 이론은 없다고 할 것이다. 이에 저자는 신체와 정신에 동시에 적용이 가능한 용어들인 '힘(power)과 통제(control) 그리고 생존(survival)'의 개념으로 이 네 가지 측면을 모두 통괄하는 방법을 강구하고자 한다. 즉 힘에는 신체적인 힘, 정신적인 힘, 내적인 힘, 외적인 힘의 네 종류가 있다. 통제에도 역시 신체적인 통제, 정신적인 통제, 내적인 통제, 외적인 통제의 네 종류의 통제가 존재한다. 내적이란 자신에게로 향하는 과정을 의미하며, 외적이란 타인에게로 향하는 과정을 뜻한다. 한 개인에 있어서의 생존과 건강, 인격적 성숙, 성격적인 특성은 이 네 종류의 힘과 네 종류의 통제의 조화와 균형에 의하여 유지될 수 있다. 또한 이에 바탕을 두어 이 네 종류의 힘과 네 종류의 통제의 부조화와 불균형의 특성에 따라서 정상(normality)과 비정상(abnormality)에 대한 새로운 정의를 내리고자 한다.

유방암 여성들의 자조집단 활동 경험 (The Experience of Self-help Group Activities among Women with Breast Cancer in Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the experience of breast cancer self-help group activities in Korea. Methods: The data were collected via individual in-depth interviews with 8 women with breast cancer, who participated in self-help groups during 2012~2013. All interviews were audio-taped and transcribed, and they were analyzed using a phenomenological method. Results: Six theme clusters were identified. "Breakthrough toward survival" describes how the participants identified self-help groups and got involved in the activities. "Genuine comfort obtained by 'misery loves company' deals with the emotional relief and catharsis. "New life fully recharged" demonstrates the changed belief system and the joy for life and living. "Rebirth in family" deals with how family dynamics has been changed. "Societal change by raising collective consciousness" illustrates many activities to improve their rights and advocate employment issues. "Obstacles to the group harmony" illustrates the major difficulties including interpersonal conflicts the participants encountered during their participation. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that participating in self-help groups was mostly beneficial for women with breast cancer. Therefore, oncology professionals need to encourage them to participate in self-help groups and also need to provide professional support to self-help groups for their harmonious interpersonal relationships.

재미 한국 간호사들이 경험한 한국과 미국 병원의 간호실무의 차이 (A Comparison of Hospital Nursing Practice in Korea and the U.S. as Experienced by Korean Nurses)

  • Since the introduction of Western concept of nursing to Korea in late 1880s, Korean nursing practice has evolved into Korean culture. The purpose of this study was to explore and identify similarities and differences in hospital nursing practice between Korea and the United States using the grounded theory method. The data were gathered from 15 Korean nurses working in U.S. hospitals using semi-structured, in-depth interview method. Major similarities in nursing practice between Korea and U.S. existed in the 7 domains that Benner indicated in 1984. The nursing administration system was also similar in both countries. On the other hand, differences existed in how nurses execute these domains of nursing practice. These are the roles of nurses. nurse aides and family members. and the interpersonal relationships, and problem presentation and problem-solving strategies. American family members rarely participated in the patient's bedside nursing care, while Korean family members actively participated. American nurse aide participated in direct patient care, while Korean nurse aides did not. Also Korean nurses were participated more in administering and managiang the patient's diagnostic and treatment modalities, while American nurses foucused on the needs and demands of the patient. In terms of interpersonal relationships, American patients were more self-centered and demanding than Korean. American nurses focused more on the right of individuals while Korean nurses were more oriented to harmony with the coworkers. With inferiors and superiors, American members were more egalitarian, while Koreans tended to be hierachical. In ways of suggesting problems, American nurses tended to pick out the problems more frequently than Korean nurses did.. As to ways to solve the problems, American nurses relied heavily on explicit verbal explanations, while Korean nurses relied more on bodily action and behaviors. The results of this comparative study contribute to nursing by adding knowledge on the theory of culture care by describing the similarities and differences in nursing practice between Korea and the United States.

한국인 인간관계의 문화적 특성과 척도개발 - 온정적 인간관계 (Cultural characteristics of Korean interpersonal relationships and scale development - affective relationships)

  • 본 연구는 한국적 인간관계의 문화적 특성을 발견하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구1에서는 한국인·한국사회의 특성에 관한 전문서적 21권과 한국인 인간관계의 문화적 특성에 관한 선행연구를 검토하여 한국적 인간관계의 특성을 이해하고 이를 대표할 수 있는 예비문항 45개를 선별하였다. 이를 활용하여 국내 대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 문항-총점 간상관관계를 분석하여 5개의 예비문항을 삭제하고 40개의 예비문항으로 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과 6개 하위요인(32개 문항)으로 분석되었고, 측정문항의 내용타당도를 검토하는 과정에서 의미가 중복되는 문항을 통합·수정하여 총 20개로 재구성하였다. 연구2에서는 연구1에서 재구성한 20개의 예비문항을 활용하여 국내 일반인을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 탐색적 요인분석 결과 '우호적 관계, 정, 조화, 관계유지중시'의 4개 하위요인을 발견하였다. 확인적 요인분석을 통해 측정모형의 타당도를 검토하고 개념타당도를 검토하는 과정에서 3개의 측정문항을 삭제하여 17개 측정문항을 온정적 인간관계 척도로 확정하였다. 이후 온정적 인간관계 척도와 유사 개념 간의 상관관계를 분석함으로써 변별타당도를 분석하였다. 또한 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 본 척도의 4개 하위요인을 한국의 문화적 특성 관점에서 해석하고 본 척도가 갖는 의의와 한계점을 논의하였다.

관계에 어려움이 있는 중년기 여성의 모래놀이치료 사례연구 (A Case Study of Sandplay Therapy with a Middle-Aged Woman Having Difficulty in Relationships)

  • This study explored the sandplay therapy case of a middle-aged woman having difficulty with interpersonal relationships and wanting to increase her self-identity. The goal of the therapy was to change her relationships with others by self-examination and becoming conscious of her negative animus and femininity in a free and protected space provided by sandplay therapy. Forty-five therapy sessions were held. The client exhibited her lonesomeness and fantasies by making sandtrays of a house she would like to live in, a park she would like to relax at and dreams she would like to fulfill in the initial phase of therapy (1~8, Who am I?). In the intermediate phase of therapy (9~33, Meeting myself), she displayed scenes of her negative self and breaking away from her negative self by making sandtrays of shadows, deaths, creations, a soaring scene and a disappearing alligator. In the final phase of therapy (34~45, Discovery of the real Self), she showed scenes of her meeting a positive self by making sandtrays of hope, coexistence, start, harmony and community. This study showed the effectiveness of sandplay therapy since the client' relationships with others were improved through her self-awareness by sandplay therapy in the free and protected space.

수간호사가 인지하는 리더십의 구성요소 (Structural Components of Leadership Perceived by Head Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the components of successful leadership and organizational structural barrier to apply leadership perceived by head nurses. Method: We collected the data using interviews from August 1 to August 31 in 2003. The participants of this study were 19 head nurses from two university hospitals in Pusan. Result: Three categories of successful leadership in nursing organization were identified; leadership, opportunity, authority. Leadership category included accepting nurses' opinions, providing comfortable work environment, and interpersonal harmony. Opportunity category included verbal convincing for professional development and emotional support. Authority category included accomplishment and competence. Head nurses included autonomy, incentives, and equal opportunity across to different discipline as power category. Barriers identified by head nurses were lack of opportunity and power from hospital level. They seem to be frustrated when they don't have enough support from hospital. Conclusion: We think that head nurses have to apply effective leadership to achieve organizational goal and harmonious nursing environment. Based on the barriers identified in the study, interdisciplinary managemental intervention can lead better quality of care and nurses' work satisfaction which could further enhance hospital productivity and quality of care.

현대의학과 환상통 - 이응준의 『약혼』을 중심으로 (Modern Medicine and Phantom Pain)

  • Modern medicine has early experienced the absence of mimesis and has been trying to replace the absence with objective grounds and experimental data. However, as medicine became science, the crisis of medicine spread more widely. Microscopic powers and violences are invisible, but individuals are powerless and vainly unable to resist. The anguish or introspection about the situation is sometimes described in stories such as An Engagement by Lee Eung Jun. An Engagement is mentioned in this article due to the writer's attitude, which shows his introspection and desire for harmony through the wounds of each trivial character. The writer is unceasingly talking about suffering people in his story and his seriousness enables readers to find his stronger sympathy over life and death than in any other medical stories. In fact, it is impossible for readers to comprehend the confusing propositions which the writer pours out, and even uncomfortable to read the story. Nevertheless, the propositions are always in contact with reality. Perhaps it is not the writer's confusing propositions that make us uncomfortable. It might be ourselves who are always alienated and starved. We can say that the characters' pains and wounds are phantom pains caused by the absence of mimesis. Since there is no affected area, their pains cannot be measured by only scientific medicine. However, the current medical profession regards objective research evidences as absolute truth and allows them to be the sole criterion. Although scientific skills such as DNA analysis and MRI scan can be the substitutes for doctors' judgment, so much of medicine is still interpersonal relationships. An Engagement. As a person promises to marry another, as all beings together in the world promise to subordinate to one another, every subject is consistently a valuable part of each other for the writer's eyes. He is aware that it is originally impossible to get engaged to the world, but he does not give up the possibility of genuine communication. In today's post-modernism society, where a large number of pathological views define the members and the world itself, endless questioning of existence and digging into pathology will be the only way to reduce the gap between individuals and their world. This article does not say that a literary work will lead the change of medical paradigm. It sprang from a desire for medical humanities to gain more interest of the medical field, where the encounter between literature and medicine is still unfamiliar, and to make medical education recognize the importance of humanities. Starting with this work, I believe that the humanities will help us to find the solution to the age of absence of mimesis and to the crisis of medicine.

부모의 행복감이 양육스트레스와 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Happiness on Parental Stress and Employer-supported Childcare Centers Satisfaction Level)

  • 본 연구는 직장어린이집 이용 부모의 행복감이 양육스트레스와 어린이집 이용만족도에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 일 가정의 조화로운 양립과 직장어린이집 운영의 질적 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 직장어린이집 이용 부모 206명을 대상으로 7개 영역 35문항으로 구성된 행복감 검사도구와 2개 영역 20문항으로 구성된 양육스트레스 검사도구 및 5개 영역 25문항으로 구성된 이용만족도 검사도구를 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감과 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 대한 인식은 높은 수준으로 나타났고, 양육스트레스는 보통보다 약간 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감과 양육스트레스는 부적상관을 보였으며, 행복감과 직장어린이집 이용만족도는 정적상관을 보였다. 셋째, 직장어린이집 부모의 행복감은 행복성, 가족의 화목 순으로 양육스트레스에 영향을 미치고, 행복감은 행복성, 대인관계 순으로 직장어린이집 이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 양육지원을 위한 지원 방향이 물질적 구조적 접근뿐만 아니라 부모의 행복감을 증진시키는 정의적 차원의 접근이 필요함을 시사한다.
