Development of an Orff Musical Activity Intervention Program based on Interpersonal Care for Children from Multicultural Families (다문화가정 아동을 위한 대인 돌봄 기반의 오르프 음악 활동 프로그램 개발)

  • This study aims to develop an Orff musical activity program based on interpersonal care for children from multicultural families in South Korea. The Orff music activity program based on interpersonal care consists of a program that can control ego-resilience, peer relationships, happiness, anxiety, and stress, and was developed based on the Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation (ADDI) model. As a result, a ten-session program was developed based on the expressive area of care, theme, goal, interpersonal care technique, Orff technique. The research results of the developed program show that interpersonal care nursing can be effective for children from multicultural families, and this program can be used as an intervention to improve children's mental health.

The Effects of Gratitude Enhancement Program on Psycho-social and Physical Health of Chronic Schizophrenia (감사증진프로그램이 만성 조현병 환자의 심리사회적·신체적 건강에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the Gratitude Enhancement Program on self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, gratitude disposition, subjective happiness, stress index in patients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods: The research was designed for a nonequivalent control group before and after the test design. The subjects of this study were 29 patients in the experimental group and 28 patients in the control group. The Gratitude Enhancement Program was conducted three times a week for a total of nine sessions. Data were collected with questionnaires and measured with autonomic nervous system response (stress index) and was analyzed by t-test, chi-square test, Fisher's exact, and repeated measures ANOVA with the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results: There are no significant differences in the homogeneity test of a dependent variable between groups. The experimental group showed significant higher scores of self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, gratitude disposition, and subjective happiness than the control group. There was no significant difference in the stress index between two groups. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, this Gratitude Enhancement Program can be a good nursing intervention to improve self-esteem, interpersonal relationship, gratitude disposition, and subjective happiness for chronic schizophrenia patients.

Development of Empowerment Program for Persons with Chronic Mental Illness and Evaluation of Impact (만성 정신질환을 가진 환자를 위한 임파워먼트프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop an empowerment program for people with chronic mental illness and to analyze effects of the program on level of empowerment. Methods: The research was conducted using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Participants were 37 people with chronic mental illness (experimental group: 18, control group: 19). The empowerment program was provided for 8 weeks (15 sessions). Data were collected between July 21 and October 17, 2014. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, Sapiro-wilk test, and Repeated measure ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Quantitative results show that self-efficacy, interpersonal relationships, attitudes in the workplace, occupational performance capacity, and levels of empowered execute were significantly better in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Study findings indicate that this empowerment program for persons with chronic mental illness is effective for improving self efficacy, interpersonal skills, attitudes in the workplace, occupational performance capacity, levels of empowered execute.

Analysis of Metaphor for Teacher Happiness in Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers (예비유아교사의 교사행복에 대한 은유분석)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the way pre-service early childhood teachers think about teacher happiness through metaphor analysis. Methods: A total of 225 pre-service teachers were selected from 4-year universities in the Gyeongnam area and open questionnaires were distributed to the participants. A total of 207 out of the 225 questionnaires were selected for the study. Results: First, based on psychological well-being, positive interpersonal relationship, self-acceptance, autonomy, environmental control, and life purpose were derived. Pre-service early childhood teachers typified teacher happiness into five types: positive interpersonal relationships, self-acceptance, autonomy, environmental control, and life purpose. Second, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived teacher happiness as positive. Third, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived interpersonal relationships, self-acceptance, and purpose of life as positive, while environmental control and autonomy were perceived as negative. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to improve the quality of teachers' education and to develop a program to raise positive awareness of future early childhood teachers. These study results can also be used as basic data for high quality teacher education.

The Effect of Applying Learning Theory to Horticultural Therapy on Improving Personal Relationships in High School Students with Intellectual Disabilities

  • In order to actively apply horticultural therapy to vocational education base schools, this study applied the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism to improve the vocational skills of high school students with intellectual disabilities. The horticultural therapy program was carried out in total 12 sessions with three groups composed of 20 students each: 20 in the control group, 20 in the experimental group with a normal horticultural program, and 20 in the experimental group with a horticultural therapy program which applied the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. The results were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 using the Interpersonal Negotiation Strategies evaluation tool. The study found that in terms of interpersonal relationship, there was no significant difference between the pre and post tests within each group. However, in the post tests among the three groups, there was no significant difference between control group and experimental group with normal horticultural program (p=.82), but there was a significant difference between the control group and experimental group with the horticultural therapy program applying the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism (p=.03). This proved that the horticultural therapy program applying the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism is effective for improving interpersonal relationship. Ultimately the program is expected to be continuously, and systematically improved and applied as a learning method contributing to developing the basic vocational skills of persons with intellectual disabilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of small group collaboration learning program through MBTI on interpersonal relationship and career identity of nursing college students. 30 experimental group and 30 control group, nursing students were randomly assigned 2nd grade nursing students were selected from nursing program of T university in Daegu, Korea. The 30 experimental group students received small group collaboration learning program through MBTI for 30 hours(2 times in a week for 15 weeks). Measures were MBTI test, interpersonal relationships and career identity scale. The data were analyzed with SPSS Win 17.0 program, chi-square test, t-test. The experimental group which received small group collaboration learning program through MBTI will have a higher level of interpersonal relationships and career identity change score than the control group.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the mediating effect of work environment and the moderating effect of gender on the influence of interpersonal relationship of fusion integrated generation of youths on organizational commitment. For this purpose, Korean Labor and Income Panel Study KLIPS 19th year data was used and the effect of interpersonal relationship of youths on the organizational commitment of 540 subjects in accordance with the study was examined and explored focusing on the model in relation to the mediating effects of the work environment and the control effects of gender. The main results are as follows. First, the interpersonal relationship and working environment of youths showed a positive effect on organizational commitment. Second, the working environment was found to be mediated completely in the relationship between the interpersonal relationship of youths and work environment and organizational commitment. Third, in the relationship between interpersonal relationship and organizational commitment of youths, it appeared that there was moderating effects of gender.

A Study on the Relationship of Locus of Control, Organizational Justice and Job Satisfaction (통제위치, 조직공정성 그리고 직무만족의 관계에 대한 실증적 연구)

  • This study investigates the relationship among locus of control, organizational justice, and job satisfaction. First, this study examines the conceptual structures of organizational justice through field study. Second, organizational justice influences job satisfaction. Third, locus of control influences organizational justice. Literature review identified four factors of organizational justice - distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational justice. These identified determinants are expected to have significant relationships with locus of control and job satisfaction. Questionnaires were distributed to 500 members of a manufacturing companies. Among returned questionnaires, 357 samples were used for empirical study. Structural equation analyses based on PLS (partial least square) method were employed to test the hypotheses and the model. The overall adequacy of fit was found to be acceptable. Confirmatory factor analyses supported a 4-factor structure of organizational justice. Distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational justice had significant positive effects on job satisfaction. In addition, the effects of locus of control had significant positive effects on organizational justice factors. The results of this study suggest that interpersonal and informational justice should be regarded as important factors of organizational justice to analyze the relationships between locus of control and job satisfaction as well as the relationships among the justice constructs.

The Effects of Home connected Praise and Encouragement Programs on Children's Interpersonal Relationships and Subjective Well-being (가정연계 칭찬.격려프로그램이 초등학생의 대인관계 및 주관적안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the home connected praise and encouragement program which it affects the interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being of elementary children. To achieve this purpose, 58 fifth grade students were measured based on the interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being scale. Then 29 students were placed in the experimental group while the other 29 children were placed in the control group. The experimental group participated in home connected praise and encouragement program, the control group didn't. The quantitative analysis results verifying the effects of the program were as follows: The experimental group treated by the home connected praise and encouragement program showed significant improvement in interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being compared to the control group. Follows are results from qualitative analysis. First, children have increased positive personal relations with companion, parents, teacher, and improved closeness with family by the home connected praise and encouragement program. Second, children have increased edification of self-confidence, satisfaction in school and home by them. These results supported our hypothesis that the home connected praise and encouragement program effectively improved interpersonal relationships and subjective well-being of elementary school children.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating effect of interpersonal relationship skills in adapting military life and stress in the army. For this purpose, 453 soldiers in Chungnam and Daejeon were surveyed. First, the main result of this study is the difference in interpersonal skills and group life adjustment in accordance with the rank and class of the soldiers. Second, too much stress can cause difficulty to adapt military life and interpersonal skills. Also high interpersonal skills can help to adjust well to military life. Third, according to the survey, it was confirmed that the openness in the sub-factors of military life and military life stress was effective. This study suggests that it is important to help control the stress of military life to improve the ability of the openness of interpersonal skills in order to increase the adaptability military life.
