Agent for Home Server Management in Intelligent Smart Home Network

  • The intelligent home network system integrates various devices in the home into one communication network to provide information sharing, control, and operation environment between devices. This intelligent home network system operates around a home server. Home appliances in the era of the 4th industrial revolution will have numerous home servers in logical areas as the intelligent home network in the home accelerates. Therefore, the need for systematic management of home servers is emerging. We propose an agent system for efficient intelligent smart home server management. The agent system monitors the home server and operating environment for home server management of the intelligent smart home network. By referring to this monitored information, the service module of the home server is managed, and the home server is dealt with whether it is normal or not. In addition, by referring to the information collected by the service agent created in the group management server while migrating the home server, it is possible to deal with integrated meter reading, crime prevention, and topics. And when a new service is applied to the home server, it is registered in the management server and distributed to the home server through the agent, so that the intelligent smart home network can be efficiently managed.

  • This study aims to propose a framework for evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) services, based on the concept of AI service impact. It also suggests a model for evaluating this impact and identifies relevant factors and measurement approaches for each item of the model. The study classifies the impact of AI services into five categories: ethics, safety and reliability, compliance, user rights, and environmental friendliness. It discusses these five categories from a broad perspective and provides 21 detailed factors for evaluating each category. In terms of ethics, the study introduces three additional factors-accessibility, openness, and fairness-to the ten items initially developed by KISDI. In the safety and reliability category, the study excludes factors such as dependability, policy, compliance, and awareness improvement as they can be better addressed from a technical perspective. The compliance category includes factors such as human rights protection, privacy protection, non-infringement, publicness, accountability, safety, transparency, policy compliance, and explainability.For the user rights category, the study excludes factors such as publicness, data management, policy compliance, awareness improvement, recoverability, openness, and accuracy. The environmental friendliness category encompasses diversity, publicness, dependability, transparency, awareness improvement, recoverability, and openness.This study lays the foundation for further related research and contributes to the establishment of relevant policies by establishing a model for evaluating the impact of AI services. Future research is required to assess the validity of the developed indicators and provide specific evaluation items for practical use, based on expert evaluations.

  • As demand for IT services increase, which are based on SOA and cloud computing, service level agreements (SLAs) have received more attention in the parties concerned. An SLA is usually a paper contract written in natural language. SLA management tools which are commercially available, implement SLAs implicitly in the application with a procedural language. This makes automation of SLA management difficult. It is also laborious to maintain contract management systems because changes in a contract give rise to extensive modifications in the source code. We see the source of the trouble is the existence of documentary SLAs (paper contracts) and corresponding executable SLAs (contracts coded in the procedural language). In this paper, to resolve the current SLA management problems we propose an active SLM (Active Service Level Management) system, which is based on the active SLA (Active Service Level Agreement). In the proposed system, the separated management and processing of dual SLAs can be unified into a single process with the introduction of active SLAs (ASLAs).

  • Digital Content Marketplace based on Interactive Media is defmed as the marketplace for content service between contents supplier and consumer through iDTV environment. This Marketplace is increasing interest to u-Life service with Digital Environment. To Interactive Media, it can contribute to enhance its effectiveness by developing various contents and service model in the initial phase of broadcasting-communication convergence. This study designed metadata using Digital Content marketplace based on Interactive Media. Specially the matadata designing include recommendation-tag for supply supplementary content. It can support self-directed action. Through basic metadata with weight value, it is designed to support supplementary content customer to want on the marketplace. Recommendation-System can be built by many method and to recommend the service content including explicit properties using collaborative filtering method can solve limitations in existing content recommendation.

  • The advanced T-DMB is the digital broadcasting technique upgrading the T-DMB which has low effective data rate compared with other things. Since it applies the hierarchical modulation, it has maximally twice as much the effective data rate of a T-DMB, so it can provides the video service of high quality and many stations more than a T-DMB. Therefore, the study for DAB service on the AT-DMB environment will be advantageous better than the previous studies for it on the T-DMB environment. So, this paper proposes the method of the channel allocation for DAB service on the Advance T-DMB system environment and presents the results of the interference analysis in order to verify that.

  • Micro-service Architecture is a service architecture optimized for large-scale distributed systems such as real-time realistic broadcasting systems, so that are fiercely adopted by Global leading service platform vendors such as Netflix and Twitter due to the merit of horizontal performance scalability enabling the scale-out technique. In addition, micro-service architecture makes it possible to execute image processing and real-time data analysis using an asynchronous-based processing that are difficult to handle in Web API such as REST. In this paper, an event stream processing framework applicable to asynchronous based micro services is proposed in the sense that the accountability of event processing order is not guaranteed in the events such as IoT sensor data analysis or cloud-based image editing because these are the situations where the real-time media editing generates multiple event streams and asynchronous processes in the platform.

Analysis of Popular YouTube Channels Created in South Korea (국내에서 제작된 인기 YouTube 채널 분석)

  • This study analyzes the characteristics of popular channels of YouTube created in South Korea. As the science and technology have developed, the ordinary people come to upload their own videos after filming them. Regarding YouTube, the most popular video provide service in the world, this study researches the traits of popular YouTube channels produced in South Korea. Specifically, top 100 channels of 1) Most Subscribed 2) Most Viewed are researched, then it explores further by classifying them as 1) The number of the most subscribed/the most viewed 2) The number of videos 3) The number of viewed/subscribed 4) Genre 5) Type of creator. Thus, it not only reveals the multi-dimensional aspects of popular YouTube channels in South Korea but also prospects the market of Multi-Channel Network(MCN).

  • N-Screen service has experienced rapid business expansion recently, since consumers' watching patterns have been diversified; also business stakeholders including broadcasting companies, internet service providers, and device manufacturers have joined this field. In order to operate N-Screen service in a stable manner, development of advertisement system where it generates continuous advertisement profit is needed. Especially for a streaming service that delivers live TV programs, the new advertising system has to deliver ads in conjunction with the live streaming system that is in use. In this paper, video advertising system that is congenial to N-Screen is proposed. Both real time video/ad converting scheme and direct video ads delivery function were developed and tested. In addition, ad contents management and statistics management functions have been developed for advertisement managers. This system was implemented in a commercial N-Screen service and it is currently being used for delivering video advertisements.

  • Currently broadcasting and telecommunication has integrated, And IPTV Service has appeared who called TPS(Triple Play Service) which integrated with broadcasting, telecommunication and Phone Service. IPTV provide broadcasting service and VOD(Video on Demand) service, and it must be satisfied digital content security. For this condition, IPTV Forum working on standardization of interface for digital content security. The Security solution for broadcasting and VOD are CAS (Conditional Access System) and DRM(Digital Rights Management). But these solutions manufactured by many vendors, so there is no inter-operability. And after finished standardization of interface for CAS and DRM system, the problem of inter-operability with them will be issued. For this reason, Rights management system which possible to operate independently with platform is necessary. In this paper, To protect multimedia digital content, we designed and implemented Conditional Access Management System.

A Mutual Authentication Protocol based on Hash Function for Efficient Verification of User Entitlement in IPTV Service (IPTV 서비스에서 사용자의 수신자격을 효율적으로 판별할 수 있는 해쉬 함수 기반의 상호 인증 프로토콜)

  • The fusion stream of recent broadcasting and communication make multimedia content served in the area of broadcasting into IPTV service which transmits it through high-speed internet, cable TV net and satellite net in realtime. However, as the digital broadcasting service is extended to various media, the security of IPTV service content provided to users by service provider is not fully supported by CAS(Conditional Access System) provided by existing broadcasting system. This paper proposes interactive certification protocol which can efficiently distinguish the receiving-qualification of user between Set-Top Box and Smart Card which are parts of configurations for IPTV system. The proposed protocol uses hash function to make Set-Top Box transmit receiving-qualification about the channel fee which user pays more properly than existing protocol. Also, the proposed protocol uses session key generated between receiver and smart card through inter certification process and encrypts EMM not the service to be used by anyone illegally.
