Diffusion Patterns of Telecommunications Services with Network Evolution (네트워크 진화에 따른 통신서비스 확산 패턴의 변화)

  • Traditionally, diffusion of telecommunications services has been considerably affected by presence of critical mass and network externalities, and thus shown the so-called late take-off phenomenon. However, as telecommunications network evolves from circuit switching to packet switching, enabling diverse new services such as Internet access, Internet banking and web hosting, it seems this traditional diffusion patterns are changing. By comparing diffusion of the packet-based services with those of circuit-based services and durable goods, we have found the late take-off phenomenon is not involved in diffusion of newly introduced the packet-based services. Moreover, we concluded diffusion of the packet-based services is much faster than that of durable goods, thus showing early take-off phenomenon. Based on this empirical result, we suggest Telcos and ISPs should pay as much attention to the growth state as the introduction stage in order for their packet-based services to be successful in the markets.

  • Development of Information and Communication technology coming to activity of internet banking and electronic business, and smart card of medium is generalized prevailing for user authentication of electronic signature certificate management center with cyber cash, traffic card, exit and entrance card. In field that using public network, security of smart cart and privacy of card possessor's is very important. Point of smart card security is use safety for smart card by user authentication. Anonymous establishment for privacy protection and denial of service attack for availability is need to provision. In this paper, after analyze for Hwang-Li, Sun's, L-H-Y scheme, password identify element is a change of safety using one time password hash function. We proposed an efficient new smart card authentication protocol against anonymity and denial of service.

  • 최근 금융산업에서 치열한 시장환경 및 다양한 고객 요구사항에 대응하기 위해 채널 및 IT 아키텍처의 재조명이 이슈화되고 있으며, 이때 인터넷 채널은 인터넷에 익숙한 젊은 고객 층의 증가와 편리성 측면에서 이용도가 높아짐에 따라 웹 개인화를 요구하고 있고 콜센터 채널은 마케팅 및 업무효율측면에서 고객접촉이력 정보의 자산화 추세로 중요성이 제고되고 있다. 하지만, 고객중심의 통합 금융시스템의 구현이라는 측면에서 홈뱅킹시대에서의 각기 양 채널은 개별시스템(individual system)으로 개발 및 운영이 되고 있어 상호 운용이 되지 않는 문제점을 내포하고 있고 이를 해결하고자 한다. 따라서, 본 논문의 공헌도는 양 채널간 상호 운용 가능한 SOA(Service Oriented Architecture)기반의 공통 컴포넌트를 도출하고 효율적 채널 활용을 위한 상호 운용성 아키텍처를 제안하는데 그 의의가 있다.

  • The fire incident of KT's Ahyun branch occurred last year indicates that hyper-connected society led by 5G technology would be a dystopia instead of a utopia unless seamless connection of 5G service is well secured. Looking backward on 1999, we could peacefully and happily greet the new millennium by making a great effort to prevent the millennium bugs(Y2K) from causing the catastrophe such as a shut-down of banking system. Likewise, we should make a great effort to keep 5G networks and 5G service continuously working without the disruption of even just a second, which would enable us to avoid facing any catastrophes caused by the disruption of 5G service. As a way to do so, it can be considered that 5G service is designated as universal service because it has the key features of public goods like telephone and high-speed internet services.

  • As measures for protecting users and ensuring security of electronic financial transactions, such as online banking, financial institutions in South Korea have implemented network segregation policies. However, a revision of such domain-centered standardized network segregation policies has been increasingly requested because of: 1) increased demand for remote work due to changes resulting from COVID-19 pandemic; and 2) the difficulty of applying new technologies of fintech companies based on information and communications technologies (ICTs) such as cloud services. Therefore, in this study, problems of the remote work environment arising from the network segregation policy currently applied to the financial sector in South Korea and those from the application of new ICTs such as fintech technology have been investigated. In addition, internal network protection policies of foreign financial sectors, such as those of the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and Russia, and internal network protection policies of non-financial sectors, such as control systems, have been analyzed. As measures for the effective improvement of the current network segregation policy, we propose a policy change from domain-based to data-centric network segregation. Furthermore, to resolve threats of hacking at remote work, recently emerging as a global problem due to COVID-19 pandemic, a standard model for remote work system development applicable to financial companies and a reinforced terminal security model are presented, and an alternative control method applicable when network segregation is not applied is proposed.

Design of Encryption/Decryption IP for Lightweight Encryption LEA (경량 블록암호 LEA용 암·복호화 IP 설계)

  • Lightweight Encryption Algorithm(LEA) was developed by National Security Research Institute(NSRI) in 2013 and targeted to be suitable for environments for big data processing, cloud service, and mobile. LEA specifies the 128-bit message block size and 128-, 192-, and 256-bit key sizes. In this paper, block cipher LEA algorithm which can encrypt and decrypt 128-bit messages is designed using Verilog-HDL. The designed IP for encryption and decryption has a maximum throughput of 874Mbps in 128-bit key mode and that of 749Mbps in 192 and 656Mbps in 256-bit key modes on Xilinx Vertex5. The cryptographic IP of this paper is applicable as security module of the mobile areas such as smart card, internet banking, e-commerce and IoT.

  • In this paper, we propose a system for efficient customer management by linking the automatic dispenser and bank server computer to smart phone. The proposed background is as follows. The customer management system used by banks has been used by ordinary users. However, with the development of smartphones, the number of online banking users has increased and the number of bank branches has decreased, so that a long waiting time occurs when a bank is directly used offline. In addition, customer inefficiency time loss causes problems in customer service. In this paper, we propose a queue management system based on the number of customers by using the automatic dispenser that is used offline with the smartphone to improve customer service resulting from such a customer management problem.

  • With the construction of vast networks, Internet based services such as online games and Internet banking are steadily increasing. As dysfunctions of the trend, various threats from worms/viruses to hacking are proliferating and new types and variations of worms/viruses are emerging. In response to the problems, telecommunication carriers and the government we establishing systems to cope with infringement accidents and resultant damages. However, in case of nationwide emergencies like the 1.25 Accident, infringement may spread rapidly while analyzing what kind of infringement it is and that may result in enormous losses. Thus, the paper purposed to analyze the states of infringement accidents occurring at each network and coping methods and checklist, based on the results. and to propose strategies for controlling services in case of large scale infringement accidents.

  • Internet banking, electronic financial services and internet telephony service can be available on smart phone recently. In this case, more robust authentication mechanisms should be provided for enhancing security on it. In this study, a facial biometric ID based one-time password generation mechanism is designed and implemented for enhancing user authentication on smart phone. After capturing a facial biometric data using camera module on smart phone, it is sent to server to generate one-time biometric ID. Finally one-time password will be generated by client module after receiving the one time biometric ID based challenge token from the server. Using proposed biometric ID based one-time password mechanism, it is possible for us to provide more secure user authentication service on smart phone for SIP protocol.

  • In recent years, electronic financial services, such as internet banking, come into wide use since the personal computer and network technology have made reasonably good progress. The growth of electronic financial service contributes to promoting the business efficiency of financial institution and promoting the convenience of financial customer, while the security on electronic financial service is getting more important because it is not face-to-face financial service. Therefore, the financial sector had decided to introduce the OTP (One Time Password) in order to authenticate the identification of customer and has built the Integrated OTP Authentication Center for a customer being able to use only one OTP token in electronic financial transaction with several financial institution. In this paper, we introduce the business of Integrated OTP Authentication Center and present the security analysis on integrated OPT authentication service, which is the main function of Integrated OTP Authentication Center.
