구성형태(構成形態)에 따른 파티클과 파이버로 제조(製造)한 패널의 물리적 및 기계적 성질 (Physical and Mechanical Properties of Panels Fabricated with Particle and Fiber by Composition Types)

  • The aim of this research was to investigate physical and mechanical properties of various composition panels, each fabricated with a ratio of fiber to particle of 2 to 10. Type A consisted of fiber-faces and particle-core in layered-mat system. Type B consisted of fiberboard-faces on particleboard-core. Type C consisted of fibers and particles in mixed-mat system. The results obtained from tests of bending strength, internal bond, screw holding strength and stability were as follows: 1. The bending strength and internal bonding of both the Type A panel and the Type B panel were higher than those of the Type C panel and three-layered particle board. 2. The mechanical properties of the Type C panel showed the lowest values of all composition methods. It seems that the different compression ratios of the particle and fiber interrupted the densification of the fibers when hot pressed. 3. The dimensional stability of layered-mat system panels consising of fiber-faces and particle-core was better the than control particleboard. 4. In composition methods of particle and fiber, layered-composition method was more resonable than mixed-composition. The Type B panel had the highest mechanical properties of all the composition types. 5. The Type A panel was considered the ideal composition method because of its resistance to delamination between the particle-layer and the fiber-layer and because of its lower adhesive content and more effective manufa cturing process.

고도정수처리용 콘크리트 금속용사 피막의 내오존성 및 오존처리 후 부착강도 평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Evaluation of Bond Strength after Ozone Treatment and Ozone Resistance of Concrete Metal Spray Coating for Advanced Water Treatment)

  • 기존의 정수처리 방법으로는 제거되지 않는 물질이 발생함에 고도정수 처리 시설의 도입이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 오존을 이용한 고도정수처리 시설의 내부 방수 방식재는 오존의 산화력에 의해 열화되며 콘크리트까지 영향을 미쳐 내구성 저하의 원인이 된다. 본 연구에서는 내오존성 및 내화학성이 뛰어난 금속 패널을 기존의 시공법 보다 손쉬운 방법으로 시공하기 위한 방법으로 금속용사 공법을 이용하여 수처리 시설 콘크리트 구조물의 열화를 원천적으로 방지하기 위한 마감공법 개발 연구의 일원으로 용사금속 종류 및 피막의 표면처리 방법에 따른 내오존성 평가를 실시하였으며, 오존처리 후의 부착강도를 평가하였다. 실험결과 용사금속 Ti이 용사 후에도 내오존성이 뛰어난 것으로 나타났으며 표면처리 방법으로는 테프론계 봉공처리제를 사용하여 마감하는 것이 내오존성 및 부착성능 확보에 가장 적합한 방법이라 판단된다.

무세척 고분자전해질 다층흡착 처리된 중질탄산칼슘이 종이의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ground Calcium Carbonate Modified by Washless Multilayering of Polyelectrolytes on Paper Quality)

  • In this study, we investigated influence of ground calcium carbonate (GCC) modified by washless multilayering of polyelectrolytes on paper quality. Three layers of polyelectrolytes (cationic starch/anionic polyacrylamide/cationic starch) were formed on the surface of GCC using laboratory inline washless polyelectrolytes multilayering system, which was called inline LbL GCC. Base papers were prepared with untreated GCC or inline LbL GCC using a laboratory handsheet former. These handsheets were coated with rod coater, and then printed by black ink. Properties of base paper and fold crack of coated paper were evaluated. Base paper with inline LbL GCC showed much higher mechanical strength in terms of tensile index, strain, internal bond strength, and folding endurance. The fold crack of coated paper with inline LbL GCC occurred more frequently compared to coated paper with untreated GCC. This might be due to highly improved internal bond strength of base paper, which resulted in smaller delamination that played a role of stress dissipation. It would be recommended to design a proper coating layer in order to prevent fold crack.

  • 한지제조공정(韓紙製造工程) 중(中)에서 발생(發生)하는 백색 슬러지와 흑색 슬러지를 각각 일정비율(10, 20, 30, 40%)로 목재(木材)파티클과 혼합(混合)하고 PMDI, 요소 및 페놀수지를 이용하여 목표비중(目標比重) 0.60, 0.75, 0.90 별로 복합(複合)보드를 제유(製遺)하여 기포적(機捕的) 성질(性質)을 측정한 결과 파티클보드에 한지(韓紙) 슬러지를 약 20%까지는 혼합(混合)하여 복합재(複合材)를 제조하여도 충분히 가능(可能)하리라 믿어진다.

  • 철근콘크리트 기둥에서 횡 보강근의 시공성 및 구속효과를 향상시키기 위하여 본 연구에서는 내부 크로스타이의 대체로서 V형 띠철근의 배근방법을 제시하였다. 제시된 V형 띠철근의 부착응력-미끄러짐 관계를 파악하기 위하여 콘크리트 강도 및 V형 띠철근의 절곡각도와 묻힘길이를 주요변수로 35개의 직접인발 실험체를 제작하였다. V형 띠철근의 부착강도는 절곡각도가 $60^{\circ}$ 이하에서 CEB-FIP 기준 식보다 높게 있었다. V형 띠철근의 시공성 및 부착거동을 고려하면, V형 띠철근의 최적 절곡각도 및 묻힘길이는 각각 $45^{\circ}$$6d_b$ 이상으로 제시될 수 있었는데, 여기서 $d_b$는 띠철근 직경이다.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the shear bond strength of the porcelain laminate specimens according to the surface roughness of the cut enamel of human anterior teeth. Flat enamel surfaces were prepared in 30 extracted human anterior teeth with diamond disc which were divided into two groups. Group 1 Coarse enamel surface group prepared with LVS-3 bur. Group 2 Fine enamel surface group prepared with superfine diamond bur. 30 teeth specimens of two group were stored in normal saline during 24 hours. 30 disk - type porcelain laminate specimens with diameter 4mm and thickness 1mm were made and sand - blasted on internal surface which were to cemented on enamel surface. Porcelain laminate specimens were cemented on enamel surface with Choice Veneer System (Bisco Dental, U.S.A) according to manufacture's instructions. All teeth specimens of two groups were manipulated with same method and stored In normal saline before testing. An Universal Testing machine (Model No.UTM-4206,Instron, U.S.A) was used to apply shear loads in the vertical directed, and the force required for separation was recorded with a cross head speed of 3mm/min and 500kg in full scale. The results were as follow ; 1. The mean shear bond strength of coarse surface group was 36.30kg and that of fine surface group was 44.39 kg, but there was no significant difference in breaking strength of two groups(p>0.05).

전분 분무기술을 통한 다층지의 물성개선 (Improvement of Multiply Board Properties with Starch Spraying)

  • Frequently spraying of natural starch slurry onto the formed wet web has been adopted to improve properties of paperboards. This conventional starch spraying technique, however, becomes less effective in strength improvement. In this study the effects of various factors including wet web dryness, quantity of starch slurry sprayed, and drying temperature on paperboard properties were investigated. Migration of starch granules into the webs appeared to cause a reduction in plybond strength when the web dryness was lower than this level. Wet webs should contain enough water to swell the starch granules, and at the same time they should be heated to a temperature high enough for complete cooking of the sprayed starches to occur. This suggested that preheating of the wet web can be employed to improve the plybond strength.

A critical steel yielding length model for predicting intermediate crack-induced debonding in FRP -strengthened RC members

  • Yielding of the internal steel reinforcement is an important mechanism that influences the Intermediate Crack-induced debonding (IC debonding) behavior in FRP-strengthened RC members since the FRP is required to carry additional forces beyond the condition of steel yielding. However, rational design practice dictates an appropriate limit state is defined when steel yielding is assured prior to FRP debonding. This paper proposes a criterion which correlates the occurrence of IC debonding to the formulation of a critical steel yielding length. Once this length is exceeded the average bond stress in the FRP/concrete interface exceeds its threshold value, which proves to correlate with the average bond resistance in an FRP/concrete joint under simple shear loading. This proposed IC debonding concept is based on traditional sections analysis which is conventionally applied in design practice. Hence complex bond stress-slip analyses are avoided. Furthermore, the proposed model incorporates not only the bond properties of FRP/concrete interface but also the beam geometry, and properties of steel and FRP reinforcement in the analysis of IC debonding strength. Based upon a solid database, the validity of the proposed simple IC debonding criterion is demonstrated.

톱밥과 왕겨 및 숯을 이용하여 제조한 보드의 성질 (Properties of Board Manufactured from Sawdust, Ricehusk and Charcoal)

  • 본 연구에서는 농업부산물인 왕겨와 제재과정에서 발생되는 톱밥에 환경 친화적인 소재인 숯을 첨가하여 왕겨와 숯의 혼합비율 및 밀도별로 보드를 제조한 후 용도개발을 위하여 물리적 성질을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 왕겨 및 숯의 첨가율 별로 제조된 혼합보드의 수분흡수율과 두께팽윤율은 숯의 첨가율이 증가할수록 완만하게 감소하는 경향을 나타내었고, 또한 혼합보드의 밀도가 증가할수록 수분흡수율은 감소하고 두께팽윤율은 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 혼합보드의 박리강도는 밀도가 0.7g/㎤일 때 0.49N/㎟로 가장 높은 수치를 나타내었다. KSF 3104 파티클 보드의 품질기준을 만족시켰다. 왕겨 및 숯의 첨가율별로 제조된 혼합보드의 박리강도는 왕겨의 첨가율이 감소하고 숯의 첨가율이 증가할수록 박리강도가 완만하게 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 또한 KSF 3104 파티클 보드의 품질기준 왕겨와 숯의 비율이 35:5와 30:10일 때는 15.0형, 25:15와 20:20일 때 13.0형의 품질기준을 만족시켰다. 혼합보드의 밀도가 증가할수록 경도가 증가하는 경향을 나타냈고, 왕겨의 첨가율이 감소하고 숯의 첨가율이 증가할수록 경도는 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다.

Forcing a Closer Fit in the Lower Tails of a Distribution for Better Estimating Extremely Small Percentiles of Strengths

  • We use a novel, forced censoring technique that closer fits the lower tails of strenth distributions to better estimate extremly smaller percentiles for measuring progress in continuous improvement initiatives. These percentiles are of greater interest for companies, government oversight organizations, and consumers concerned with safely and preventing accidents for many products in general, but specifically for medium density fiberboard (MDF). The international industrial standard for MDF for measuring highest quality is internal bond (IB, also called tensile strengh) and its smaller percentiles are crucial, especially the first percentile and lower ones. We induce censoring at a value just above the median to weight lower observations more. Using this approach, we have better fits in the lower tails of the distribution, where these samller percentiles are impacted most. Finally, bootstrap estimates of the small percentiles are used to demonstrate improved intervals by our forced censoring approach and the fitted model. There was evidence from the study to suggest that MDF has potentially different failure modes for early failures. Overall, our approach is parsimonious and is suitable for real time manufacturing settings. The approach works for either strengths distributions or lifetime distributions.
