Upgrading flexural performance of prefabricated sandwich panels under vertical loading

  • 3-D wall panels are used in construction of exterior and interior bearing and non-load bearing walls and floors of building of all types of construction. Fast construction, thermal insulation, reduced labor expense and weight saving are the most well pronounced advantage of such precast system. When the structural performance is concerned, the main disadvantage of 3D panel, when used as floor slab, is their brittleness in flexure. The current study focuses on upgrading ductility and load carrying capacity of 3D slabs in two different ways; using additional tension reinforcement, and inserting a longitudinal concentrated beam. The research is carried on both experimentally and numerically. The structural performance in terms of load carrying capacity and flexural ductility are discussed in details. The obtained results could give better understanding and design consideration of such prefabricated system.

Lateral performance of CRCS connections with tube plate

  • This paper presents experimental and analytical studies to evaluate the cyclic behaviour of Circular Reinforced Concrete column Steel beam (CRCS) connections. Two 3/4-scale CRCS specimens are tested under quasi-static reversed cyclic loading. Specimens were strengthened with a tube plate (TP) and a steel doubler plate (SDP). Furthermore; nine interior beam-through type RCS connections are simulated using nonlinear three-dimensional finite element method using ABAQUS software and are verified with experimental results. The results revealed that using the TP improves the performance of the panel zone by providing better confinement to the concrete. Utilizing the TP at the panel zone may absorb and distribute stress in this region. Results demonstrate that TP can be used instead of SDP. Test records indicate that specimens with TP, with and without SDP maintained their maximum strength up to 4% drift angle, satisfying the recommendation given by AISC341-2016 for composite special moment-resisting frames.

자동차 Instrument Panel 의 운전자 인지지도 추출을 위한 Blind-Pointing Method 개발에 관한 연구 (A study for the development of Blind-Pointing Method to extract drivers' cognitive map on Instrument Panel)

  • In these days, the interior interface design for vehicle drivers was recognized as important affairs. Thereby, many studies are being performed for this. These studies emphasize the physical factors and usability of human, but those for the cognitive factors are not enough. Cognitive factors are very important elements to determine the drivers' performance. In this study, it was studied about the method to extract a driver's cognitive map on IP(Instrument Panel) in dynamic situation, and BPM(Blind-Pointing Method) was proposed for this. The BPM is the method to extract a cognitive map by subject's pointing action under the blinded condition. The experiment was conducted to validate compatibility of BPM as the method to extract a cognitive map. In the experiment, subjects were divided in two groups, the first group of subjects has their own vehicle and driver license, and the second group of subjects doesn't have own vehicle but has driver license. The result shows that the IP form of cognitive map is not different between two groups, and BPM is the compatible method to extract a cognitive map.

고부가가치선 선실의 소음 저감용 복합패널의 차음특성 해석 (Analysis of Sound Transmission Characteristics of Multi-complex Panel for Noise Reduction in High Value-added Vessel Cabin)

  • Recently, as the importance of the interior noise in a ship cabin has risen, ship builders have becomeconcerned about the use of noise reduction panels to reduce cabin noise. The results of previous researches have been based on analytical and experimental methods using simple sandwich panels. However, panel structures are becoming more complex to improve the transmission loss. Thus, researches that analyze the transmission loss of a panel are reaching the limit of study. This paper reports on research that was performed to determine the sound transmission characteristics of multi-complex panels applicable to high value-added vessels. It presents comparisons between analytical methods and experimental results by using a mini-reverberant chamber with components of sound attenuation panels, including the core and surface materials. The sound transmission loss of multi-complex panels are also analyzed in terms of the influences of the inside perforate plates and air gap thickness on the attenuation. Finally, the multi-complex panel with the highest noise attenuation is proposed based on the analysis results and experimental results in mini-reverberant chamber, which wereverified using a real-size reverberant chamber.

  • In this study we reported the Smoke Density, the Toxicity, the Flame Spread Characteristics and the Oxygen Index of the FRP composite interior panels for raicars. Also investigated the test codes of the concerning items of other countries. We made some samples to the variance of resin types, surface finishing methods and panel shapes. It's not the really used ones but may help us effectively to guess the fire safety characteristics of railcars.

  • In this study we reported the Smoke Density test method of interior panel of railroad passenger car and investigated the specific smoke density(Ds) by NBS smoke chamber to the variance of some test conditions. First we compared the result of Ds from ISO 5659-2 with that from ASTM E662 for same phenol FRP Secondary studied the Ds value to the variance of resin type and to the variance of specimen shape.

고속철도차량의 터널 소음을 위한 차음 전략 (Sound Insulation Strategy for the Tunnel Noise in a High Speed Train)

  • 터널 내에서 고속철도 차량의 실내소음은 개활지 대비 5dB~7dB정도 증가한다. 그 원인은 터널 내 차체 외부의 음향 인텐시티가 급격히 증가하기 때문인데, 특히, 측면재의 외부에서는 개활지에 비해서 음향 인텐시티의 증가가 가장 크다. 따라서 터널 내에서는 차체의 측면을 통하여 음향파워의 투과 전달이 커질 가능성이 상당히 높다. 본 논문에서는 현재 개발중인 차세대 고속 철도차량의 터널 내 실내소음을 저감시키기 위한 종합적인 차음 전략을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 차체의 주요 차음재인 바닥 적층재, 측면 적층재 및 복층 유리창의 시편을 제작하여 ASTM E2249-02에 근거하여 투과손실 측정한다. 측정 데이터에 근거하여 차음 성능상의 문제점을 진단하고, 차음성능 향상을 위한 층별 개선 방안과 적층 구조의 개선 방안을 제시한다.

음이온과 음향 발생 기능이 있는 옥돌을 이용한 조명기구 연구 (A study on lighting equipment using jade stone with negative ions and sound generation function)

  • 본 연구는 실내 또는 실외를 조명으로 밝게 비추는 조명등에 관한 기술로서, 보다 상세하게 설명하면 외관을 구성하는 케이스에 사방으로 투시창을 만들고, 사방 투시창에 얇은 패널(panel) 형태로 가공된 옥돌을 부착하여 조명등을 구성함으로써, 옥돌을 통해 은은한 불빛이 실내 또는 실외로 조사(照射)되므로, 사용자에게 아늑함과 따스함을 제공하고, 실내 또는 실외의 인테리어 효과를 높이는 한편 원적외선과 음이온을 발산하며, 은은한 꽃향기를 방출하는 옥돌을 이용한 조명등에 관한 기술이다. 본 연구개발의 제품의 특징은 외관을 구성하는 케이스에 사방으로 투시창이 형성되고, 사방 투시창에 얇은 패널(panel) 형태로 가공된 옥돌을 부착하여 조명등이 구성되며, 스피커를 통해 사용자에게 유익한 음악, 불경, 성경, 시조 등의 음향을 발생시키는 옥돌을 이용한 조명등을 연구했다는데 의미가 있다.

우주파편 초고속충돌에 의한 위성구조체의 손상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Damage of Satellite caused by Hypervelocity Impact with Orbital Debris)

  • 지구궤도 상에는 무수히 많은 우주파편(Orbital debris)이 존재하며 매우 높은 속도로 선회하고 있기 때문에 정상가동중인 인공위성과 충돌 시 위성구조체에 치명적인 손상을 일으킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 입자완화유체동역학(Smoothed particle hydrodynamics, SPH)을 이용하여 우주파편과의 초고속충돌로 인해 발생 가능한 저궤도 위성구조체의 손상분석을 수행하였다. 위성구조체의 본체 패널(Panel)로 사용되는 허니콤샌드위치패널(Honeycomb sandwich panel, HC/SP)에 대해 충돌속도에 따른 손상분석을 수행하였으며 위성구조체 내부부품의 안전성 분석을 위해 전자박스가 HC/SP에 직접 부착된 경우와 10cm 오프셋 된 경우에 대한 초고속충돌해석 및 손상분석을 수행하였다. 고도 685km의 저궤도에서 2% 정도의 충돌확률을 갖는 우주파편들을 고려할 때, HC/SP 자체에 관통이 발생하는 것으로 나타났으며 부착형 전자박스의 경우와 오프셋형 전자박스의 경우에는 전자박스에 관통이 발생하지 않고 미소 크레이터(Crater)만 발생되는 것으로 나타났다.

제진재 경량화를 위한 설계 프로세스 연구 (Study on the Design Process to minimize the Weight of the Damping Material)

  • Sound packages and damping materials have been widely applied on the floor to decrease the interior noise of a vehicle. Based on the previous researches on the low-noise vehicles, weight optimization through minimization of damping material usage is required while decreasing mid and high frequency range noise by application of sound packages. This paper describes the analysis process of robust design of vehicle body structure before applying damping materials and focuses on the analysis and test process of the location optimization at the stage of damping material application. A vibration experiment for the analysis of floor panel velocity with respect to the excitation of suspension attachment parts at the underfloor of a vehicle is performed. And through the improvement correlation between FEA and TEST, a design guide to optimize damping materials application in the early design stage is proposed. A research on vibration damping steel sheets and liquid acoustic spray on deadener(LASD) is performed to minimize manufacturing time and to minimize the space for pre-existing asphalt damping materials. As results of this study, panel stiffness is achieved through curved surface panel and bead optimization. And test baseline of optimum design is suggested through damping material optimization. And finally, through re-establishing the analysis process for vibration reduction of vehicle floors and lightweight design of damping materials, it is possible to design damping materials efficiently in the preceding stage of design.
