Therefore, we would like to see how the Emotion related to the movement that occurs in the space by analyzing the human body movement which is the subject of experiencing the space experimentally and research the characteristic of Emotion and space movement. SPSS 12.0 was used for the analysis to perform the analysis of basic statistics and Factor Analysis, and then to analyze the characteristic and emotional attribute for the experimental analysis. Comparing the activity for the 2 groups' behavior through the analyzed result with the test, active behavior was found to be higher than inactive behavior in the emotional value, and their bodies' motion showed averagely positive value in the emotional aspect; their bodies' motion was presented differently according to the attributes and amount of the people who would experience a specific space. • Today the design is recognized as indispensible part in business activities and it is demanded as one of the management strategies. since the ultimate goal of a hotel lines in the pursuit of profit, it is important that the design of a hotel faithfuly reflects the demands of management at the time of its construction planning. Furthermore, hotel planning undergoes a complicated design phases on a large scale, thus, utilization of a design process that accomodates retional approaches scientific and structural design activities, which will further reduce errors in design steps and pave a way for effective attainment of the target. Especially the management and designers review and confirm the design in relation to the strategic manegiable objective sat the early basic stage. The baseline set here will serve as a direction for the detailed design. In this context, this thesis formulates a reference baseline in dividing the space in view of the overall profitability and is based upon a survey conducted on the correlation between the operation of food and beverage section and the space. First, downtown hotels now take on the role of a public facility to a great extent and the number of Koreans who visit the autxiliary facilities of hotel increases. Second, recently revenue from a food and beverage section is in downtown and the trend is especially obrious at western restaurant, buffet and bar. This necessitates the reevaluation of the business space allocation. Third, sales promotion plan includes diversification, dessection and scaling down of the food and beverage section areas, Fourth, a proper number of seats must be determined in regard to the average area of one seat shown in the survey. Fifth, dense seat arrangement would entail a curtailment rather than a hike in revenue. Sixth, the installation of private dining room is on the rise and in particular, in Japanese and Chinese restaurants. Seventh, business space with declined revenue tends to induce the integration of similar businesses.

  • Nowadays, public rental apartments' community facilities emphasize only their quantity aspect without considering residents' characteristics, leading their installation regulations to be based on only the number of households, which is problematic. As a result, in many cases, residents, after moving in, alter the facility usage or remodel the facilities for their use. Hereby, this study conducted focus group interviews with public rental apartments' residents as to find out space conditions of and improvement demands for the community facilities. Two public rental apartment complexes in Seoul and Gyeongi-do which were built after 2007 were selected for this study. As for the survey method, workshop panel was employed. Four people in each age class of infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors were formed into one group, and a total of 40 people in 10 groups were surveyed. The survey was continuously conducted from February to March in 2009. The study findings can be summarized as follows. 1) Among community facilities, there were more satisfactory outdoor facilities than satisfactory indoor facilities. Residents expressed satisfaction with the facilities linked with natural environment. The causes of unsatisfactory facilities were mostly poor management. 2) The facilities demanded by the residents included ones relevant to study, exercise, and hobbies. As public rental apartments are resided mostly by low-income families, study and hobby activities bring them cost problems. Therefore, it is needed that the apartment complexes support diverse such activities 3) As for facilities demanded for usage alteration, a residents' meeting room accounted for the most popular opinions. As it was used only once a week, its usage was very low. It should be opened to the residents and allowed to be used in various ways. 4) As for demands of changing spatial characteristics, outdoor exercise facilities accounted for the most opinions. Although they were installed in most cases, they were damaged and poorly managed, therefore being in need of improvement in operation and management. In order to maximally utilize public rental apartments' community facilities, facility planning in consideration of various age groups from residents' viewpoint and sustainable systematic management are required.

  • This study is to conclude a direction for Information Commons, which supports the university library in a new role. The study explains perspectives on the changing role of the university library by examining the approaches, histories, and theories practiced by various researchers on Information Commons. The study aims to discover ways of improving the library space that are dedicated to technology using Information Commons, it also examines ways of creating a unified "library space" that will support learning and access to knowledge and information. The features of Cultural Commons include making improvements to technology-centered space, and providing support to research, freedom of speech, creative approach, public freedom and collaboration, and interaction. The functions of Cultural Commons within the university library are listed: First, it supports programs that will transform the library into a social hub within the university. The space specifically blurs the boundary between the library building and its surroundings, and unifies these spaces to enhance its catalytic role in aiding social interactions and human-centered approach. Second, it supports active participation through cultural programs and provides a fluid and interactive space with virtual resources. Third, it enhances user experience to supports behaviors and activities that involve fixtures and equipment in the space to promote learning. The study notes that, with the emergence of these characteristics, the university library is changing by implementing Cultural Commons for on-campus social space and new learning. Accordingly, this implementation is expected to enhance active acceptance of the library space in the future.

  • Recently, appearance is recognized as competitiveness as well as self expressing means, so understanding of general people have been rapidly changed. Also, since modem people have interest in an operation as well as various cosmetic treatment fields, a plastic surgery clinic is expanding its region to laser treatment and skin care for modem people. However, the plastic surgery clinic is not located in a building for only hospitals, but located in general neighborhood living facilities or an office building, so medical treatment is performed at the place. It is often found that a building plan can not conform to conditions that the hospital requires. This study is to understand a plane deciding factor of the plastic surgery clinic by analyzing it in a limit of building space and functional aspects of the plastic surgery clinic. A study method is first to investigate space composition according to the function, area allocation according to the function and a space privacy region after classifying study objects into large, middle, small scales so as to understand a functional role of the plastic surgery clinic, and secondly to analyze on the base of length of long and short edges of space and a moving line system after classifying common space types of the plastic surgery clinic through plane analysis of the study objects. As a result of the study, functional space difference according to the scale was shown, and the common space types were affected by length of the long and short edges, and it can influence space composition.

  • The purpose of this study is to gain an in-depth understand of the dwelling needs of residents who are interested in Cohousing. To do this, we interviewed 18 urban residents who wanted a community life; investigated consciousness of neighbor relationships; and analyzed their consciousness of Cohousing residences, preference types, and spatial needs. At first the research has revealed that the neighbor relationships of the participants were not very close and that there was a difference in awareness levels between a 'good neighbor' and 'strange neighbor' with regard to neighbors, though all of the participants required a vitalization of these relationships. Second, Cohousing residence types could be divided into the 'life preferred type' and 'space preferred type', depending on the differences of pursued dwelling interests. These could be further segmented into the 'leisure life preferred type' and 'daily life preferred type', 'public space preferred type' and 'individual space preferred type'. Thirdly, preferences for Cohousing types varied depending on differences in priority with regard to important concepts of the social-physical environment (e.g., community property, effectiveness, naturalness, economic feasibility, and individuality). Finally, we found that the greatest needs were for public gardens and exercise space as aspects of the common spaces. Agreements pertaining to special use were considered as most important during the design process of the common spaces.
