  • The multimedia documents becomes the most natural user interface for CSCW(Conputer Supported Cooperative Work) in distributed environment. The objective of this study is to propose a multimedia document architecture and to develop a system that can manage it well. The new architecture is for revisable documents and is the basic layer for hypermedia documents. A good document architecture for CSCW must support pointing, marking, and editing over a part of documents. The user views, version control, and full- content search are also desirable features. In this paper, we discuss the basic concept of a new document architecture for CSCW. We also present the user interfaces for spatio-temporal compositions of multimedia documents.

  • The Tester of Autonomous station control system is a system which can test the main function of Autonomous station control system through the data field. The purpose of this paper is to meet the system requirements and design a main function, menu and user interface using Use-case. The main function is a time-deadline test, a schedule broadcast test, a route control test and a version-up test, etc. The design of Autonomous station control system tester plays a primary role of the important document for the upcoming future system development of the tester.

  • Information systems for application areas like office automation, customer service or computer aided manufacturing are usually highly interactive and deal with complex document structures composed of multiple media formats. For the realization of these systems, nonstandard database systems, which we call document databases, need to handle different types of coarse-and fine-grained document objects(like full-text documents, graphics and images), hierarchical and non-hierarchical relationships between objects(like composition-links and cross-references using hypertext structures) and document attributes of different types such as formatting/presentation information and access control. In this paper, we present the underlying data model for document databases based on descriptive markup languages that provide mechanisms for specifying the logical structure(or schema) of individual documents stored in the database. We then describe extensions to the data model for supporting notion of composite structures("join" operators for documents) --composition and hyperlinking mechanisms for representing compound documents and inter-linked documents as unique entites separate from their components. Furthermore, due to the interactive nature of the application domains, the database system in conjunction with clients(or browsers) has to support visual navigation and graphical query mechanisms. We describe the functionality of a new user interface paradigm called HyBrow for meeting the above mentioned requirements. The underlying implementation strategy is also discussed.discussed.

  • The Missile Flight Test Launch Control System is to operate in conjunction with the Fire Control System during flight test to guided weapons. Also, this is a system for the test control and situation monitoring depending on the type of guided weapons and testing purposes. Message structure, communication protocols, such as data types for interworking with the fire control system and the Missile Flight Test Launch Control System are defined in the Launch Control ICD(Interface Control Document). ICD are composed differently of each guided weapons system and each test object. Previously, in order to interwork with the Fire Control System, the interlocking software was developed, which had a variety of problems. Therefore, we developed a new parsing algorithm in order to recognize the variety of Launch Control ICD and verified that the algorithm operates normally by checking transmitting and receiving various message in conjunction with the fire control system.

  • As the requirement of user for robot functionality, the function and interface for controlling the robot system is more sophisticated and complicated. Accordingly development process of robot is more complicated and it takes much longer time to develop a robot system. Software development using project management tool is more important in software engineering because of the complexity of software, especially robot system. This paper proposes SEED (Software Engineering Equipment for Development), which is a web-based and integrated software engineering tool to provide independent tools for robot software development. SEED includes the document management tool, the software configuration management tool, the software testing tool on developing robot software and provide a functionality of collaborated and remote development due to WEB-based operations.

  • It is important to manage internal and external interfaces in a system integration. As there are many of related multi-disciplinary engineers and high level complexity in big and complex project, it is difficult that carrying out interfaces management by consistent method. We study the method that represent efficiently system interfaces by matrix structure. And we suggest the way to identify system interfaces and trace interfaces between components using Interface Analysis Matrix and Interface Control Document.

  • In this paper, we present a framework that is easy to develop, modify, maintain and extend a control and monitoring software for any kinds of instruments. The presented framework is composed of three XML documents (IID, MAP, and CMIML) and two tools (Virtual Instrument Wizard, Generator). Interface information about behaviors and states of instruments is written on IID. Mapping information between the interface information in IID and API of a real instrument driver is written on MAP. Finally information about control and monitoring software is written on CMIML. IID, MAP and CMIML are written with XML format to provide common usage and platform independence of the suggested framework. VI Wizard generates CMIML (platform independent intermediate document) using IID and existing CMIML, and Generator generates source code of a control and monitoring software (platform dependent code) automatically using CMIML and MAP. The suggested framework that automatically generates control and monitoring software based on GUI provides easy development and maintenance. Also, reusability can be increased by reusing platform independent software description documents.

  • In this paper, we present a framework which is used to develop, modify, maintain and extend a control and monitoring software easily for any kind of automatic instruments. The proposed framework is composed of three XML documents (IID, MAP, CMIML) and two tools (Virtual Instrument Wizard, Generator).   • In developing the avionics system, a system integration laboratory (SIL) is established to verify the function and interworking of individual components. In case of individual verification of SIL's components and system integration, a SIL model that simulates the function and interworking of each equipment is developed and used. A SIL model shall be pre-verified against all data defined in the interface control document (ICD) before interworking with the actual equipment and reverified even when the ICD changes or functions change. However, if the verification of the SIL model is performed manually, the verification of the individual SIL model takes considerable time. For this reason, selective regression tests are often performed to determine a impact of SIL models on ICD changes and some functional changes. In this paper, we designed SIL model verification automation method to perform regession test by reducing verification time of SIL model and verify the usefulness of verification automation design by developing SIL model verification automation tool.

  • 본 논문은 교통 신호 제어 알고리즘들의 성능을 비교하기 위한 복합교차로 시뮬레이터를 구현하였다. 기존의 교통 시뮬레이터들은 단일교차로를 대상으로 하거나 텍스트 모드로 동작하는 경우가 많았다. 논문의 시뮬레이터는 Visual C++의 MFC 라이브러리를 사용하여 n $\times$ n 형태를 갖는 복합교차로에 적합하도록 객체지향적으로 구현되었으며, 성능 비교를 위하여 제어 알고리즘들을 별개의 윈도우에서 처리하기 쉽도록 MDI 방식을 사용하였다. 개발한 시뮬레이터는 그래프 윈도우와 맵 윈도우의 편리한 사용자 인터페이스, 논리시간 설정을 통한 다목적 시뮬레이션, 다양한 성능평가 출력 등의 특징을 갖는다. Abstract In this paper, we implemented a multiple crossroad simulator to evaluate the performance of the traffic signal control algorithms. Most of existing traffic simulators were operated in text-mode or at a single intersection. We developed the object-oriented simulator suitable for multiple crossroads with n $\times$ n intersections by using MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) library in Visual C++. The simulator was implemented by using MDI (Multiple Document Interface) scheme in order to process both control algorithms in separate windows respectively. Our simulator has the following features: user friendly interface with graph window and map window, multi-purpose simulations by setting logical time, and various forms of performance evaluation.
