  • When a great variety of services become available to user through the broadband convergence network in the ubiquitous home environment, an intelligent agent is required to deal with the complexity of services and perceive intension of a user. Different from the old-fashioned command-based user interface for selecting services, conversation enables flexible and rich interactions between human and agents, but diverse expressions of the user's background and context make conversation hard to implement by using either user-initiative or system-initiative methods. To deal with the ambiguity of diverse expressions between user and agents, we have to apply hierarchial bayesian networks for the mixed initiative conversation. Missing information from user's query is analyzed by hierarchial bayesian networks to inference the user's intension so that can be collected through the agent's query. We have implemented this approach in ubiquitous home environment by implementing simulation program.

  • A user with a specific information need will often need to query several search engines before finding relevant documents. To address the problem of navigating the search engines, agents are used. In general, an agent is a program that can perform a particular task automatically, when appropriate or upon request by another program. In this paper, we design and implement the education information search system for children: using Information gathering agent that is called Edulnfo4k. The information gathering agent periodically visits several portal web sites for children: Ggureogi of Yahoo Korea, Junior of Naver and Gaegujaengi of Hanmir, collects the education or learning information for children, stores the collected information into database. Then, causal users can search the education information for children from database through a uniform user interface, conveniently. As the result, we know that Edulnfo4k provides integrated search without query in several search engines.

  • Mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites were affected to fiber volume fractions (FVF) and interfacial property by sizing agent conditions. An optimum interface can relieve stress concentration by transferring the mechanical stress from the matrix resin to the reinforcements effectively, and thus can result in the performance of the composites. The interfacial properties and wettability between the epoxy resin and glass fiber (GF) were evaluated for different sizing agent conditions and FVFs. The surface energies of epoxy resin and different sizing agent treated GFs were calculated using dynamic and static contact angle measurements. The work of adhesion, Wa was calculated by using surface energies of epoxy matrix and GFs. The wettability was evaluated via the GF tow capillary test. The interfacial shear strength (IFSS) was evaluated by microdroplet pull-out test. Finally, the optimized GFRP manufacturing conditions could be obtained by using wettability and interfacial property.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the control of an agent according to a driver's social status affects user experience factors in a multi-user environment of self-driving vehicles. We conducted a user study where participants viewed four scenarios (route changing/parking x accepting/declining a fellow passenger's command) and answered a survey, followed by a post-hoc interview. Results showed that either the routing scenario or accepting a passenger's command scenario had higher usefulness (convenience, effectiveness, efficiency) than their counterparts. Regardless of the car owner's social status, participants rated AI agents more positively when they met their goals effectively. They also stressed that vehicle owners should always be in control of their agents. This study can provide guidelines for designing future autonomous driving scenarios where an agent interacts with a driver, and passengers.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate whether differences in surface treatment prior to repair influenced the seal of a resin fissure sealant placed on the occlusal surfaces of permanent molar teeth. One hundred and twenty extracted human molars were selected and a light curing sealant was placed on their occlusal surface following cleaning by prophylaxis and acid etching. The teeth were deliberately damaged, and then stored in artificial saliva for four weeks. Sixty teeth with the desired morphology of sealant failure were randomly divided into four groups where one group was treated with only etching agent, another by only air-abrasion, another by applying an etching agent followed by a bonding agent, and the last by air-abrasion followed by a bonding agent each. After sealant application, the samples were thermocycled and the degree of microleakage was determined. The results were as follows : 1. In the sealant/sealant interface group 2(0.22), 4(0.23) using air-abrasion showed a significantly lower microleakage score than group 1(0.38), 3(0.35) using an etching agent(p<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences(p>0.05) between groups 1, 2 and groups 3, 4. 2. In the sealant/tooth interface, group 3(0.20), 4(0.20) which used a bonding agent showed a significantly lower microleakage score than group 1(0.35), 2(0.40) (p<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences(p>0.05) between groups 1, 3 and groups 2, 4. 3. In SEM examination, while sealant surfaces treated with etching did not result in highly rough surfaces, those treated with air-abrasion did show rough surfaces.

  • This experiment was performed to observe the adhesion pattern and microleakage in the gingival margin according to variation in the resin cement thickness which results from thickness of Die spacer. which is considered to effect the adaptability of the composite resin inlays. Clearfil CR inlays were fabricated on stone models with CR Sep applicated once and Nice fit twice, 4 times, and 6 times each. After 2nd curing within the CRC-100 oven, CR inlays were cemented with CR inlay cement. Dye(2% methylene blue) penetration and adhesion pattern were evaluated after sectioning of gingival margin into :3 pieces. The results were as follows ; 1. The thickness of resin cement showed unevenchanging pattern with that of die spacer, namely, it was increased until 4 times' application of Nice-Fit but was decreased with 6 times' application of that. 2. The degree of dye penetration wasn't affected by cement thickness within a limited value. 3. Most of dye penetration was shown through the interface between cement and enamel rather than the interface between cement and CR inlay. This shows that the affinity of resin cement for CR inlay was superior to the adhesive strength with tooth structure. 4. No gap was found at the interface between enamel and cement but some showed separation between dentin and cement. It is concidered that the contraction force of cement was less than the bond strength with the enamel. 5. Lots of voids were found in the CR inlay and resin cement. There was a pooling tendency of bonding agent and cement in the axiogingival line angle portion. 6. In some specimens, cracks were shown in enamel margin. From this it could be considered that cavity preparation and surface treatment weakened the tooth structure.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pomegranate solution (Punica granatum) on eroded dentin through antioxidant action, shear bond strength (SBS) and interface morphology. Materials and Methods: The 10% pomegranate peel extract was prepared by the lyophilization method. Punicalagin polyphenol was confirmed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by capturing the 2,2-diphenyl1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical. For the SBS, 48 dentin fragments were divided into sound or eroded, and subdivided according to the pretreatment (n = 12): water or P. granatum. The surfaces were restored with self-etch adhesive and a bulk-fill resin (Ecosite; DMG). The SBS was done immediately (24 hours) and after thermal cycling + water storage (12 months). For scanning electron microscopy, 48 dentin fragments (24 sound and 24 eroded) received the same treatments as for SBS (n = 6), and they were analyzed after 24 hours and 12 months. Results: The P. granatum had antioxidant action similar (p = 0.246) to the phenolic standard antioxidants. After 24 hours, eroded dentin had lower SBS than sound dentin (p < 0.001), regardless of the pretreatment. After 12 months, P. granatum maintained the SBS of sound dentin (13.46 ± 3.42 MPa) and eroded dentin (10.96 ± 1.90 MPa) statistically similar. The lowest values were found on eroded dentin treated with water (5.75 ± 1.65 MPa) (p < 0.001). P. granatum on eroded dentin caused peritubular demineralization and hybrid layer with resin tags. Conclusions: The pomegranate extract had antioxidant action and preserved the adhesive interface of the eroded dentin.

  • In order to determine what influences the interfacial breakdown between two internal dielectric surfaces. We studied the interfacial breakdown phenomena at several interfacial conditions. With the increase of interfacial pressure, at first breakdown strength in interfaces was increased, and then saturated. Breakdown strength in interface pasted with silicone oil was higher than that with silicone grease. As a function of heat treatment time in a vacuum oven interfacial breakdown strength was increased much in XLPE/EPDM laminates pasted with silicone grease but increased a little in that with silicone oil. As an increase of curing agent in silicone oil and grease, breakdown strength in interfaces was increased and then saturated.

  • Product catalog information is the most important factor to make customers purchase the product for various B2B or B2C businesses provided on the Internet. As catalog information differs from company by company, it cannot provide common criteria standard to customers to make decisions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a platform independent system, which integrates incompatible data from each company' catalogs and manages its database. This paper describes the integrated E-catalog system made up DB module, catalog management module, and interface module. This system allows customers to view standardized product catalog information from different companies with real -time updates, and also provides extensibility, flexibility, and interoperability for the effective E-Business management.
