Interaction and Interface Design of Smart Watches (스마트워치 인터렉션 및 인터페이스 디자인)

  • Recently, with the market of smart phones slowing down, more attention is paid to wearable devices. It was suggested that 2013 was the "year of the smart watch", due to that the majority of major consumer electronics manufacturers were undertaking work on a smart watch device. However there are still many issues on the interaction and interface design of smart watches. This study reviewed related literatures and evaluated the interaction methods, interface and content design of current smart watches. Based on that, future research directions were proposed. The research results have significant meanings for the guidance of future directions of smart watch.

  • Digital technology in modern society is entering the era of digital convergence and ubiquitous computing, and is playing an important role to overcome the limitation of time and space. Based on new media method's rapid application development, a wide range of forms as digital design is made possible. A large part of our living such as information sharing, collaboration, production, recreation, working and various social activities has been realized from the space that digital media offer. As we see a much broader range, the digital media's diverse expressions affect, in interactive ways, not only the relationship between humans and things, between each individual human, and between humans and the environment, but also even emotional purification and realm of educational, cultural, and social aspect. In this study, the aim is to discuss the user-centered design considered for integration into the interaction space design method and is to concentrate on research on. Focusing on digital media, user-friendly interface features of the space environment, construction and utilization of digital media have been applied to try to analyze the interaction effect of space that is created for the design and application of various applications and will seek ways. Thus, various case-studies have been explored where interface space is developed, creating virtual reality through cognitive basis and 3-D interface space. For example, emotional expressions are embedded for the space of commerce, education and exhibition, enabling intercommunication through haptic interface, with changing sound and visual effects which are caused by the movement of people in a certain space. With consideration of the relationship between physical environment and objects, interactive design should be achieved by providing a human oriented interface based on social, cultural and environmental aspects.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the feasibility of a motion-based interaction for image browsing in the mobile device. We present the design of a motion-based interface and a navigation scheme. A designed interaction scheme was evaluated in a usability experiment alongside the conventional button-based interaction for image browsing. After enough training of user, the usability and the user task performance of the motion based interaction were significantly increased, approaching those of the button based interaction.

  • 다양한 정보기기들의 복합화 형태로 진화하는 차세대 텔레매틱스 시스템에서는 운전자의 안정성 확보와 workload 감소가 중요한 이슈로 대두되어 Interface의 단순화, GUI Interaction의 극복 등의 대한 문제해결이 중요시 되고 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 사용자의 mental model를 고려한 운전자의 자유로운 navigation을 지원할 eyes-free 기술인 haptic interface를 지원하는 모델 개발을 목표로 기존 haptic interface를 지원하는 기기들의 문제점을 도출하고 차세대 텔레매틱스 시스템의 분석을 통해 기능적 요구사항을 정의하였다. 이를 기반으로 사용자에게 haptic interface를 통한 interaction을 제공함으로써 차세대 텔레매틱스 시스템을 지원하는 conceptual model을 개발하였다. 또한 haptic device design시에 고려되는 평가지표들을 선별하여 평가지표의 계층적 구조도를 작성한 후 AHP평가 모델을 개발하여 haptic device design 시의 중요 고려사항을 도출하고 중요도를 산정하여 초기 design 단계에서의 prototype에 대한 객관적이고 정량적인 평가를 제공하였다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 어린이를 위한 인터랙티브 TV (KidTV)의 개발 사례를 통하여 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에 있어 제품디자인 영역의 특수성이 반영된 보다 적합한 인터랙티브 제품의 디자인 개발 체계를 개발하기 위한 관점을 찾는데 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 인터랙션 디자인 프로젝트에서 제품디자인적 문제해결 과제인 물리적 형태부여의 주요 요소인 인터랙션 스타일을 보다 합리적으로 조형요소로써 반영하기 위한 해결안으로써 "Form follows function" 이라는 루이스 설리반의 주장에서 힌트를 얻어 현시적 관점에서 그의 주장을 재해석하여 "Form follows Interaction" 이라는 디자인 키워드를 통하여 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에서의 제품디자인 측면의 인터페이스 개발을 위한 하나의 관점으로 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 다양한 학제가 결합하여 진행할 수 밖에 없는 사용자 인터페이스 디자인에 있어 여러 다른 학제들과 제품디자인 영역간의 이해를 돕고 사용자 인터페이스 전체적인 관점에서 제품디자인 영역의 디자인 개발체계를 확립할 수 있는 하나의 관점을 제공하고자 한다.

  • This paper discusses the gereral principles to be considered in the design of usef interfaces of graphics packages and presents a top-down design process in systematic way. The effective and convenient user interfaces are analyzed based on human factors criteria and we discuss the properties and application requirements of typical interaction techniques which support primitive tasks. The choice of an interaction technique has a set of input device prerequisites to be met.

Research on Design of Mixed Reality Interface Based on Spatial Perception

  • Based on the theory of space perception, this paper concludes that the mixed reality application under the theory of space perception has a three-level definition of visual hierarchy and then analyzes the component elements of interface design and the classification mode of interface windows. Next, carry out case practice research through this theoretical definition, and finally conduct the survey and analysis of questionnaire data, verifying that the mixed reality interface design based on spatial perception theory meets the user experience elements of Usability, Availability, and Attraction. The conclusion is that the constituent elements of interface design and the window classification mode can provide specific and practical design specifications for mixed reality interface design, reduce the interaction cost of completing tasks, reduce users' cognitive load, and make it easier for users to receive interface information
