  • Functoriality conjecture is one of the central and influential subjects of the present day mathematics. Functoriality is the profound lifting problem formulated by Robert Langlands in the late 1960s in order to establish nonabelian class field theory. In this expository article, I describe the Langlands-Shahidi method, the local and global Langlands conjectures and the converse theorems which are powerful tools for the establishment of functoriality of some important cases, and survey the interesting results related to functoriality conjecture.

  • 722 open clusters in the Sim open cluster catalogue show the outermost structure of open clusters. The catalogue is based on the proper motion and parallax of the stars. These results reveal the hidden structures of weak membership signals in the field star contamination. It contains the tidal tails, flattened structure along the galactic plane, interacting double clusters and very poor and spread clusters. We will show these interesting structures.

  • Wire codes, introduced by Wertheimer and Leeper, are interesting largely because several case-control studies have reported associations between them and certain types of cancers, including childhood leukemia. This paper is concerned with the reliability of wire codes as a surrogate for residential electric and magnetic field, divided into four categories based on the electrical wiring within 40m of homes. To examine the correlation between spot measurements and wire codes, EMF was measured by using HI-3604 and classified by wire codes. The correlation between long-transformed RMS of magnetic field and wire codes was 0.81. But the correlation between log-transformed RMS of electric field and wire codes was 0.27. The results led us to determine a four category from of the Wertheimer and Leeper code that 1) may be useful in domestic epidemiological studies and 2) is not suitable for electric field exposure. Thus, the critical point of exposure assessment in residential magnetic field is to classify a wire code precisely.

  • In this paper we study the properties of conformally recurrent pseudo Riemannian manifolds admitting a proper conformal vector field with respect to the scalar field ${\sigma}$, focusing particularly on the 4-dimensional Lorentzian case. Some general properties already proven by one of the present authors for pseudo conformally symmetric manifolds endowed with a conformal vector field are proven also in the case, and some new others are stated. Moreover interesting results are pointed out; for example, it is proven that the Ricci tensor under certain conditions is Weyl compatible: this notion was recently introduced and investigated by one of the present authors. Further we study conformally recurrent 4-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds (space-times) admitting a conformal vector field: it is proven that the covector ${\sigma}_j$ is null and unique up to scaling; moreover it is shown that the same vector is an eigenvector of the Ricci tensor. Finally, it is stated that such space-time is of Petrov type N with respect to ${\sigma}_j$.

  • Recently, with the rapid development of internet and smart phones, social network services that can create and share various information through relationships among users have been actively used. Especially as the amount of information becomes enormous and unreliable information increases, expert recommendation that can offer necessary information to users have been studied. In this paper, we propose an expert recommendation scheme considering users' interests, human relations, and response quality. The users' interests are evaluated by analyzing their past activities in social network. The human relations are evaluated by extracting the users who have the same interesting fields. The response quality is evaluated by considering the user's response speed and response contents. The proposed scheme determines the user's expert score by combining the users' interests, the human relations, and the response quality. Finally, we recommend proper experts by matching queries and expert groups. It is shown through various performance evaluations that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes.

  • In this study the vibration behavior of the stiffened double cylinder was experimently analyzed. Due to the complex structure of the double cylinder the outside cylinder frequency responses to the exciting forces applied on various posi-tions were analyzed by using spectrum analyzer in conjunction with an accelerometer and the natural frequencies were obtained. The technique of time-averaged holographic interferometry is applied to study the vibration characteristics of outside cylinder with stiffening T frame. The experimental data showed that the T frame had salient effect of damping on the testing structure at most of resonances. however the experimental results also revealed interesting phenomenon. At some particular frequencies the T frame. The experimental data showed that the T frame had salient effect of damping on the testing structure at most of resonances. However the experimental results also revealed interesting phenomenon. At some particular frequencies the T frame seemed to behave as a transmitter. In addition it has been successfully demon-started that optical method such as holographic interferometry is well suited for the identification of mode shapes. They can give us a whole-field non-contact measurement instead of the point-wise measurement by accelerometer in classical modal testing.

  • The advancement of ICT is changing every field of life. It becomes possible with the penetration of personalized devices, that is, smartphone. The boom of IoT will come when there exist diversified and personalized services. In general, we might admit that it is needed that the more privatized services than the overall serviced. Jeju Island is the only one special self-governing province in Republic of Korea and deserves to be proud of the unique culture from its long historical background. One of the very regional culture which performs by women divers, Haenyeo activity or culture, was registered as Intangible Cultural Heritage. When authors were researched Jeju Haenyeo as a worthy reserving service, we recognized that it has never considered to use any point of ICT/IoT yet. Because IoT holds the high potentiality to create any service scenario between interesting groups. We will design a few services for Haenyeo which covers their job territory or daily life, adopts up-to-date technology or method such as sensored network, smart contract and App/Web. In this paper, we intent to show the simplicity and easiness of the application of IoT not to much inconspicuous target. So, we suggest a specialized IoT service for the reservation and promotion of Haenyeo Culture. This service would be composed of sensors, IoT network and App/Web at home and office. This service can be used among interesting groups : Haenyeo, policy maker, manufacturer, service provider and culture consumer.

  • The phase field model is becoming the model of choice for the theoretical study of the morphologies of crystals growth from the melt. This model provides an alternative approach to the solution of the classical (sharp interface) model of solidification by introducing a new variable, the phase field, Ø, to identify the phase. The variable Ø takes on constant values in the bulk phases and makes a continuous transition between these values over a thin transition layer that plays the role of the classically sharp interface. This results in Ø being governed by a new partial differential equation(in addition to the PDE's that govern the classical fields, such as temperature and composition) that guarantees (in the asymptotic limit of a suitably thin transition layer) that the appropriate boundary conditions at the crystal-melt interface are satisfied. Thus, one can proceed to solve coupled PDE's without the necessity of explicitly tracking the interface (free boundary) that would be necessary to solve the classical (sharp interface) model. Recent advances in supercomputing and algorithms now enable generation of interesting and valuable results that display most of the fundamental solidification phenomena and processes that are observed experimentally. These include morphological instability, solute trapping, cellular growth, dendritic growth (with anisotropic sidebranching, tip splitting, and coupling to periodic forcing), coarsening, recalescence, eutectic growth, faceting, and texture development. This talk will focus on the fundamental basis of the phase field model in terms of irreversible thermodynamics as well as it computational limitations and prognosis for future improvement.
