Analysis of Revenue-Sharing Contracts for Service Facilities

  • There are customer services jointly provided by two facilities so that each customer will complete the course made up of both facilities' sub-services. The two facilities are assumed invested respectively by an infrastructure owner and one subordinate facility owner, whose partnership is built on their capital investments. This paper presents a mathematical model of Stackelberg competition between the two facility owners to derive their optimal Nash equilibrium. In this study, each facility owner's profit is consisted of fixed revenue fractions of sold services, operating costs (including depreciation cost) and maintenance costs of her facility. The maintenance costs of one facility are incurred both by failures and deterioration due to usage. Moreover, for both facilities, failures are rectified immediately by minimal repairs and preventive maintenance is carried out at a fixed time epoch. Additional assumptions are also employed to develop the model such as customer arrivals are manipulated to follow a Poisson process, and each facility's lifetime is independently Weibull-distributed. The Stackelberg game proceeds as follows. At the first stage of decision making process, the infrastructure owner (acting as a leader) decides the allocation of revenue shares based on her self-interest. After observing the allocation of revenue shares, the subordinate facility owner determines her own optimal price of services. This paper investigates actions and reactions of the two partners in the system. Then analytical conditions are proposed to achieve a unique optimal Nash equilibrium. Finally, some suggestions for further research are discussed.

  • 최근 주식 워런트 증권(ELW)의 시장 규모가 급격하게 증가하면서 ELW를 발행한 금융기관들에는 리스크 관리 측면에서 효율적인 헤징 방안에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 인공신경망 학습 기법을 이용하여 ELW를 헤징하는 데 소요되는 비용을 최소화하는 방안을 제시하고자 하며, 기초자산의 현재가격, 변동성, 무위험이자율, 만기 등의 시장 상황 변화에 따른 다양한 시나리오에 대한 실험을 통해 본 연구에서 제시하는 방법론의 성능을 기존의 동적 델타 헤징 방법론과 비교 실험하였다. 그 결과 만기 행사가 안 된 상품의 경우 본 연구에서 제시하는 헤징 방법론이 동적 델타 헤징에 비해 최종 비용이 약 250% 이상 개선되었으며, 행사한 상품은 최종 비용에 있어서 약 25%의 개선 율을 보이는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In general one can find an enormous number of studies about the productivity of land, labor and capital, very little has been done so far to communicate about the productivity of corporate information creating and information-consuming resources in ways that are useful to business executives. In view of the enormous share of corporate spending on information resources it would be useful in planning, budgeting, as well as in performance evaluation to measure how information resources are used in creating EVA(economic value-added). The effectiveness in deploying information resources has potentially a greater effect on corporate financial performance than any other economic influence. That in because corporate executives have greater discretion in directing what their information management staffs will do than in setting the terms for materials purchases, employee compensation, taxes or interest rates. The expenses for information are mostly in the form of overhead costs. Because expenses for information are mostly overhead costs and not for costs of goods, the prudent decision-maker should have a wide array of discretionary options available for allocating this resource. This study is intended for analysis the factors that having effects on the enterprise information productivity and is to description the factor using a foreign enterprise case study.

  • Profit, the performance of an apartment development project, is directly affected by the sales ratio, unit sale price, financial costs, land costs and construction costs. However, these factors fluctuate in response to changes in the environment, including various stake holders, and the profits fluctuate as a result. In order to ensure that profits are managed within target levels, these factors must be able to be predicted, controlled and monitored and managed up to the start, sale, and end stages of the project. The purpose of this study is to develop a profit risk management model for apartment development projects. The results of this study will contribute to the establishment of academic basis for the dynamic management of project profits that fluctuate with time and environment. And in practice, it will help project developers manage their business revenue to the proper level. In addition, the risks that occur from time to time can be identified quantitatively and visually, and it is expected that it will be easier to derive consensus points for smooth business progress by reducing conflicts of interest among stakeholders.

  • These days, the interest in the gas safety management has been increasing in our society, It needs the estimates to later investment in points of the gas safety management investment for prevention costs from gas accidents. It is written the general concept of gas safety management and the items that should be invested under the current policy. However they are not defined clearly and We have lots of difficulties in adapting them to actual spots and understanding them by their carry-out. When it follows the current safety standards, they doesn't meet the possibilities of mutual comparison, because gas safety management investment's definition is different. And sufficient information is not supported to efficiency adjudication of gas safety management investment. In this paper, you can find that Gas safety management is defined in order to more effective gas safety management investment, and the Socioscentific approach method was used to decide the gas safety management items that shall be invested.

  • In this paper we introduce a general framework for the modeling, analysis and costing of logistic networks including supply chains (SCs). The employed modeling notation, the so-called Process Chain paradigm, is specifically developed for the application field of logistic networks which includes SCs. We view SCs as discrete event dynamic systems (DEDS) and apply corresponding simulative techniques in order to derive performance measures of the Process Chain model under investigation. For this purpose Process Chain models are automatically transformed into the input language of the simulation tool HIT. Subsequently, a cost accounting model using the performance measures is applied to obtain costs which are actually subject of interest. The usefulness and applicability of the approach is illustrated by a typical supply chain example. We investigate the impact of an additional SC channel between a manufacturer and web-consumers on the overall supply chain costs.

  • 전월세 전환율이 시장이자율 또는 임대인의 기대수익률이라면 전국의 전월세 전환율은 동일하여야 한다. 그러나 전월세 전환율은 항상 시장이자율보다 높은 수준을 유지하고 있다. 본 연구는 임대주택의 공급원가 구성요소를 현재의 주택가격, 시장이자율, 감가상각비, 보유세, 그리고 임대차에 따른 위험이 존재할 경우 위험프리미엄으로 파악하고 현재의 주택가격과 각 요소와의 관계를 파악함으로써 주택임차료를 현재 가격으로 표현하였다. 이를 통해 주택가격의 변동 폭을 암묵적으로 가정하거나 전월세 전환율에 현재의 주택가격이 반영되지 못한 단점을 극복하였다. 본 연구는 임대주택의 공급 원가를 구성 요소 간의 조합으로 표현함으로써 전월세 전환율이 시장이자율이 아니라 임대인의 필수수익률 또는 요구수익률임을 밝혔다. 이는 전월세 전환율이 항상 시장이자율보다 높은 현상도 설명할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 전월세 전환율의 지역별 차이 및 주택 유형별 차이가 발생하는 원인도 설명할 수 있다.

CCN에서 정보제공자의 이동성 지원을 위한 푸싱 기법 (Provider's Mobility Supporting Proactive Neighbor Pushing Scheme in CCN)

  • CCN(Content-Centric Network) enables users to retrieve content using the content's name. Researchers face critical challenges in terms of mobility. Since the routing information is part of the content name, when the provider moves, it is necessary to update all the routers routing information. However, this requires significant costs. In this paper, we propose PNPCCN(Proactive Neighbor Pushing CCN), considering the popularity and rarity of mobility support, for providers in CCN environments. Via simulation studies, we demonstrate that our solutions are effective in terms of shorter numbers of retransmitted Interest packets, and average download times and higher delivery ratios during mobility.

  • A sampling plan is presented for situations where sampling inspection is based on the quality characteristic of interest and items in rejected lots are screened based on a correlated variable. A cost model is constructed which involves the costs of misclassification errors, sampling and screening inspections. A method of finding optimal values of sample size, acceptance number and cutoff value on the correlated variable is presented, and numerical studies are given.

A New Era of Space Shuttle

  • The U.S. Space Shuttle represents the beginning of a new era in transportation and is the critical element in the industrialization of the near-Earth-space. Most of its flights are dedicated to reducing costs launching commercial satellites. However, it provides a microgravity environment for processing unique and improved materials which is generating great interest in both civilian and military sectors. The space shuttle is also the necessary step in establishing a permanent space station which could host materials analysis laboratories and commercial processing facilities. This paper reviews the different elements of the space shuttle transportation system, a typical mission scenario, and discusses current activities in materials processing in space.
