  • 방송 환경의 디지털화와 더불어 단순히 단방향 방송 정보만을 시청하던 기존의 방식을 넘어 사용자의 다양한 욕구를 수용할 수 있는 대화형 방송 서비스(interactive broadcasting service)가 시작되고 있다. 대화형 방송 환경에서는 특히 사용자 측에 제공된 방대한 양의 디지털 멀티미디어 자료에 대한 효과적인 접근이 요구되는데, 본 논문에서는 이를 위하여 방송 비디오를 효과적으로 브라우징(browsing) 및 검색하고 전체의 내용을 짧은 시간 내에 개관할 수 있도록 하는 동적 비디오 요약(dynamic video abstraction) 기법에 관하여 고찰한다. 동적 비디오 요약에 의한 요약 비디오(skim video)는 전체 비디오를 내용에 기반하여 효과적으로 표현할 수 있도록 동영상 내의 주요 구간만으로 구성된 것으로, 대화형 방송에서 새로운 형태의 프로그램 안내 및 사용자 저장 자료에 대한 브라우징 도구 등으로써 매우 유용하게 사용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 자동으로 비디오 요약을 구현하기 위한 접근 방법과 전체 기능 구성 및 각 기능들의 구현 방법에 대하여 기술한다.

  • 최근 크로스 미디어 이용의 확대로 일방적으로 제품의 정보를 받아들이던 수동적인 소비자는 직접 정보를 찾아보는 능동적 소비자로 바뀌었다. 따라서 대중들은 단순히 방송을 시청만 하는 것이 아니라 방송 중에 나오는 인물, 스토리, 제품 등에 대한 다양한 정보를 함께 소비하고 있다. 하지만 시청에 사용되는 디바이스와 검색에 사용되는 디바이스가 달라 불편함이 있고 방송과 검색의 시점의 차이로 대중들은 간접광고를 접한 후 대상제품의 구체적인 정보를 얻는데 어려움이 있다. 또한 제품회사는 간접광고를 접한 시청자들의 반응을 통한 간접광고의 효과를 입증하기 어렵다. 이 논문에서는 간접광고에서 제품 정보의 즉각적 검색을 지원하는 인터렉티브 동영상 플랫폼을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통해 시청자는 본 방송을 시청하는 도중 관심이 가는 제품이 나왔을 때, 이벤트를 주어 화면 속 제품의 구체적인 정보를 빠르게 제공받을 수 있고 제품회사에서는 인터렉티브한 시청자의 반응을 제공받아 간접광고에 대한 효과를 확인할 수 있도록 한다.

  • 센서/외부사건 연동을 지원하는 인터랙티브 디지털 사이니지(Interactive Digital Signage)가 활발히 전개되고 있다. 그런데, 현재 전개되고 있는 대부분의 인터랙티브 사이니지 시스템은 정해진 인터랙션에만 맞추어 설계되어 지원되기 때문에, 추가적인 인터랙션 기능이 요구되는 경우에 재프로그래밍하여야 한다. 다양한 센서 입력, 외부사건 발생 등에 대한 반응을 유연하게 지원하는 데 있어서 규칙엔진 지원이 유용하다. 본 논문에서는 규칙 메타데이터 변환 및 이의 규칙엔진과의 동기화 방안을 제시하고, 이를 활용하여 다양한 센서/외부사건 연동 인터랙션을 유연하게 지원하는 규칙엔진 기반 인터랙브 기지털 사이니지 시스템의 설계 및 구현을 보고한다.

  • Recently, with the expansion of the use of cross media, the public is not just watching the broadcast, but is also consuming various information about actor, stories, products, etc. that appears during the broadcast. However, the devices used for viewing and the devices used for searching are different, which is inconveniences, and due to the differences between the point in time when the desired information is provided through the search, the public has difficulty in obtaining detailed information of the target product after encountering product placement advertisement. In addition, it is difficult for advertisers to confirm the effect of product placement advertising through the reaction of viewers who have encountered product placement advertising. In this paper, we intend to propose an interactive streaming platform that supports the instant retrieval of product information to users by including product placement advertisement information in broadcasting. Through this, viewers can quickly receive detailed information of products on the screen by giving an event when a product of interest comes out while watching the broadcast, and advertisers can check the effectiveness of product placement advertisements by receiving interactive responses from viewers.

An Efficient Scheme to write a Transmission Schedule using Convergence after Interactive Operations in a Stored Video (대화형 연산 후 수렴을 이용한 저장된 비디오의 효율적인 전송 스케줄 작성 방안)

  • In a video-on-Demand(VOD) service, a server has to return to he normal playback quickly at a certain new frame position after interactive operations such as jump or last playback. In this paper, we propose an efficient scheme to write a transmission schedule for a playback restart of a video stream at a new frame position after interactive operations. The proposed scheme is based on convergence characteristics, that is transmission schedules with different playback startup frame position in a video stream meet each other at some frame position. The scheme applies a bandwidth smoothing from a new frame position to a convergence position without considering all remaining frames of a video stream. And then the scheme transmits video dta according to the new schedule from the new frame position to the convergence position, and then transmits the remaining video data according to the reference schedule from the convergence position, and then transmits the remaining video data according to the reference schedule from the convergence position to the last frame position. In this paper, we showed that there existed the convergence position corresponding to nay frame position in a video stream through many experiments based on MPEG-1 bit trace data. With the convergence we reduced the computational overhead of a bandwidth smoothing, which was applied to find a new transmission schedule after interactive operations. Also, storage overhead is greatly reduced by storing pre-calculated schedule information up to the convergence position for each I frame position of a video stream with video data off-line. By saving information on a transmission schedule off-line along with the video data and searching the schedule corresponding to the specified restarting frame position, we expect the possibility of normal playback of a video stream with small tolerable playback startup delay.

  • This study was surveyed by using seven variables with two stems of contents-wise aspect and systematic aspect, entertainment, user-oriented contents supply, data up data, useful information supply are the elements of contents-wise aspect and systematic stabilization, convenience of access. Promptness of response are for systematic aspect. Results : First, entertainment is the first variable of interactive contents for user to choose IPTV and useful information supply is the second. Also contents wise aspect is more related than the other. Second, The high quality of entertainment, user-oriented contents supply, useful information supply systematic stabilization, convenience of access, promptness of response are required to enhance the satisfaction of IPTV user Among them. convenience of access is the most valuable factor for user to choose IPTV.

Efficient Transmission Technique of VBR-MPEG Video for Interactive Video Service (대화형 비디오 서비스를 위한 VBR-MPEG 비디오의 효율적인 전송기법)

  • In general, it is difficult to transmit a VBR video like MPEG efficiently since MPEG fames are construct with various size. To solve this problem, some bandwidth smoothing techniques are proposed which is based on the prefetching video data into the client buffer with low bandwidth allocation. However these techniques do not provide efficient bandwidth smoothing technology and transmission technique for interactive video services like VCR-like functionality. In this paper, we propose and evaluated a new bandwidth allocation mechanism for interactive video services which has VBR traffic characteristics such a MPEG. This technique provides VCR-like functionality which is not supported on previous techniques and also maximizes the bandwidth utilization when interactive video services are provided. Through our experimental, we prove that the proposed technique dramatically decreases a traffic and guarantee the continuous playback simulaneously.

A Brute-force Technique for the Stepping Stone Self-Diagnosis of Interactive Services on Linux Servers (리눅스 서버에서 인터렉티브 서비스 Stepping Stone 자가진단을 위한 brute-force 기법)

  • In order to hide their identities, intruders on the Internet often attack targets indirectly by staging their attacks through intermediate hosts known as stepping stones. In this paper, we propose a brute-force technique to detect the stepping stone behavior on a Linux server where some shell processes remotely logged into using interactive services are trying to connect other hosts using the same interactive services such as Telnet, Secure Shell, and rlogin. The proposed scheme can provide an absolute solution even for the encrypted connections using SSH because it traces the system calls of all processes concerned with the interactive service daemon and their child processes. We also implement the proposed technique on a CentOS 6.5 x86_64 environment by the ptrace system call and a simple shell script using strace utility. Finally the experimental results show that the proposed scheme works perfectly under test scenarios.

Analysis of DMB Adoption Intentions According to Preferred Contents and Other Media Usage Characteristics (디지털 멀티미디어 방송의 선호 콘텐츠 및 타 매체 이용특성에 따른 의용의향 요인 분석)

  • Recently, DMB service markets experience a rapid change with terrestrial DMB test-broadcasting for the nation-wide coverage and paid interactive data broadcasting being offered utilizing TPEG and BIFS technologies. This warrants a reexamination of a consumers' adoption intentions for DMB service. This paper uses a survey data set to analyze DMB adoption intentions and the choice between terrestrial DMB and satellite DMB services according to preferred contents and other media usage characteristics. Empirical results show that consumer who prefer TV, music, and movie contents are more likely to adopt DMB service, whereas consumers with high intentions for HSDPA subscription are less likely to adopt DMB service. This implies that continuing development of killer application and the analysis of substitutes or complements of other media are crucial for the increase of DMB adoption intentions. It is found that the more consumers prefer sports, movies and entertainment/game and put higher values in the quality of the contents, the more likely they adopt satellite DMB service. Meanwhile, the more consumers prefer TV, drama and news contents, and are sensitive to the subscription fees, they are more likely to adopt terrestrial DMB service. Therefore, it seem that consumers' DMB adoption between terrestrial and satellite services is crucially related with types and characteristics of contents offered.

The Effects of Perceived Interaction Effort and Service Justice on Satisfaction with Complaint Handling and Customer Loyalty in the Internet Fashion Shopping Mall Service Recovery (인터넷 패션쇼핑몰 서비스 회복 과정의 지각된 상호 작용성과 서비스 공정성이 불평 처리 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • The focus of this study was on service recovery process of domestic internet fashion shopping mall, the purposes of this study were to extract perceived interaction effort and service justice with the recovery factors according to service failure by literature review, and to empirically examine the effect this variables on customer satisfaction with complaint handling and loyalty. The questionnaires was administered to 256 internet shopping mall customer, who has experiences of dissatisfaction and complaining behavior after buying fashion products. The data was analyzed by Cronbach's a, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling using LISREL 8.30 program. The results were as follows. First, perceived interaction partly affected serviced justice consumer. Interaction effort on the part of consumer negatively affected interactional justice, but didn't affected distributive justice and procedural justice. However interaction effort on the part of shopping mall positively affected all justice. Second, distributive, procedural and interactive justice positively affected customer satisfaction with complaint handling and loyalty. Finally, customer satisfaction with complaint handling positively affected customer loyalty. The implications of the research and directions for future researchers were discussed.
