  • Current composite steel and concrete bridges are designed using full-interaction theory assuming there is no relative slip, between the steel and concrete components along their interface, because of the complexities of partial-interaction analysis techniques. However, in the assessment of existing composite bridges this simplification may not be warranted as it is often necesary to extract the correct capacity and endurance from the structure. This may only be achieved using partial-interaction theory which tuly reflects the behaviour of the structure. In this paper, Parametric analyses have been carried out in order to confirm the partial-interaction curvatures with deflection effect using the finite element method. Therefore, the model is considered for simply supported steel and concrete composite bridges with a uniform distribution of connectors subjected to a single concentrated load. For the case studies, this study applicate a parameters such as the number and space of stud shear connector and elastic modulus of concrete slabs. From this study, it is known that partial-interaction effect was in the increase to the increasing the deflection of composite bridges, and stiffness and strength of slab concrete considering the occurrence of crack effect seriously to the partial-interaction behavior.

  • Dynamic response of Pile Supported Structures is highly depended on Soil Pile Structure Interaction. In this paper, by comparison of experimental and numerical dynamic responses of a prototype jacket offshore platform for both hinge based and pile supported boundary conditions, effect of soil-pile-structure interaction on dynamic characteristics of this platform is studied. Jacket and deck of a prototype platform is installed on a hinge-based case first and then platform is installed on eight skirt piles embedded on continuum monolayer sand. Dynamic characteristics of platform in term of natural frequencies, mode shapes and modal damping are compared for both cases. Effects of adding and removing vertical bracing members in top bay of jacket on dynamic characteristics of platform for both boundary conditions are also studied. Numerical simulation of responses for the studied platform is also performed for both mentioned cases using capability of ABAQUS and SACS software. The 3D model using ABAQUS software is created using solid elements for soil and beam elements for jacket, deck and pile members. Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion and pile-soil interface element are used for considering nonlinear pile soil structure interaction. Simplified modeling of soil-pile-structure interaction effect is also studied using SACS software. It is observed that dynamic characteristics of the system changes significantly due to soil-pile-structure interaction. Meanwhile, both of complex and simplified (ABAQUS and SACS, respectively) models can predict this effect accurately for such platforms subjected to dynamic loading in small range of deformation.

  • The purpose of the present study is to examine the dynamic interaction characteristics between moving maglev vehicle and guideway bridge system. For this purpose, the dynamic governing equation of 2-dof maglev vehicle using optimal feedback control scheme of LQG was derived with or without consideration of the dynamic interaction between vehicle and guideway bridge system. From the parametric study, it was found that the dynamic interaction effect between bridge and vehicle was large in case of neglecting the railway roughness effect. But if the railway roughness effect was considered, it was observed two analysis results with or without consideration of the dynamic interaction did not show big difference. As a conclusion, it is required to take into account the dynamic interaction effect of bridge and maglev vehicle and the railway roughness for precise evaluation of runnability of maglev vehicle and impact factor of guideway.

  • This study has been performed to investigate the stress distribution around defects that behave as stress concentrators. Besides, the effect of stress interaction effects on the initiation of primary cracks were also investigated by rotary bending fatigue tests which were performed with specimens drilled micro surface defects and the stress distribution was analyzed using Finite Element Method. In addition, the stress interaction effects around defects and cracks were investigated by comparing the results of experiments and F.E.M. The results obtained are summarized as follows ; 1) Area which slip and micro cracks initiated at micro surface defects is between the maximum shear stress points and this area is over than ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ from the maximum stress point along the defect edge. 2) The stress interaction effect for the small size defect is larger than that of large size defect when the interval between them is near 3) Interval which there is no shear stress interaction effect analyzed by F.E.M. is larger than that of experimental results.

  • In a balanced factorial design with a nested factor where crossed factors as well as a nested factor exist simultaneously, powers of the rank transformed FR statistic for testing the main, nested and interaction effects are superior to those of the parametric F statistic. In heavy tailed distributions such as exponential and double exponential distributions, powers of the FR statistic show much higher level than those of the F statistic. Further powers of the F and FR statistic for testing the main effect show the highest level in an absolute size as compared with powers of the F and FR statistic for testing the nested and interaction effects. However powers of the FR statistic for testing the nested and interaction effects rather than the main effect are greater in a relative size than powers of F statistic for the all population distributions.

  • IT has been receiving increasing attention for cloud computing services. However, despite a lot of attention, there are limitations of existing research on cloud computing services. There are researches respectively about the benefits and costs that would occur if you choose a cloud computing services. However, in real life, consumers should be considered about the benefits and costs at the same time if they choose and use a cloud computing service. Therefore, this study examines the interaction effect of benefits and costs on cloud computing service. The findings demonstrate that three independent variables(usefulness, social influence, and innovativeness) positively(+) affect the perceived value. However, showed the benefits and costs of interaction effects analysis, usefulness and innovation on the cost influence the perceived value in statistics. The interaction of the usefulness & cost shows negative(-) effect and the interaction of the innovativeness & cost has positve(+) effect on the perceived value. In conclusion, this study provide that consumers need to consider costs with benefits when they use a cloud computing service.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between peer interaction, self-regulation and leadership of young children, and examine the mediating effect of self-regulation ability in the effect of peer interaction on the leadership of young children. The subjects of the study were 211 children aged 4 to 5 who attended in child education institutes in the Seoul-Incheon area. A survey was conducted on teachers who worked in kindergartens and day care centers with questionnaires, and the collected data were analyzed. For data analysis, SPSS WIN 21 program was used to calculate mean, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis, and correlation analysis was conducted. Also, the structural equation model was validated using Amos 21, and the following results were obtained. First, the positive peer interaction, self-regulation and leadership of children were positively associated. Second, the peer interaction did not have a significant effect on the leadership of young children, and the self-regulation of young children had a positive effect on the leadership of young children. It was found that peer interaction had a positive effect on the self-regulation of young children, and in the relationship of effects on the leadership of young children, the self-regulation was found to play a role of significant mediating effect. Such results are remarkable elements in leadership education for young children, implying the importance of peer interaction and self-regulation of young children.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify main effect of gender and expenditure, and interaction effect of gender by expenditure on satisfaction with foodservices of western restaurants. Accordingly, this study surveyed questionnaires concerning 20 measures of foodservice as well as major subject descriptors. The result of this study was as follows: KMO and Bartlett's test statistics showed that the data well fitted a factor analysis. Results of the factor analysis, average variance extracted estimates, and shared variance showed that the convergent and discriminant validities of 5 factors were supported, and Cronbach's alpha also showed that the internal consistencies of 5 factors were supported. But there was an interaction effect between independent variables and covariate on service quality factor. This study, therefore, used food decor factor, facility factor, food quality factor, and food value factor as dependent variables in two way 3$\times$2 design factorial ANCOVA. It was found that there were no main effects of gender and expenditure on those four factors. It was however revealed that there was an interaction effect of gender by expenditure on food decor factor.

  • Marine structures are often in contact with inner or outer fluid as stern, ballast and oil tanks. The effect of interaction between fluid and structure has to be taken into consideration when we estimate the dynamic response of the structure appropriately. Fatigue damages can also be sometimes observed in these tanks which seem to be caused by resonance. Thin walled tank structures in ships which are in contact with water and located near engine or propeller where vibration characteristics are strongly affected by the added mass of containing water. Therefore it is essentially important to estimate the added mass effect to predict vibration characteristics of tank structures. But it is difficult to estimate exactly the magnitude of the added mass because this is a fluid-structure interaction problem and is affected by the free surface, vibration modes of structural panels and the depth of water. I have developed a numerical tool of vibration analysis of 3-dimensional tank structure using finite elements for plates and boundary elements for fluid region. In the present study, the effect of added mass of containing water, the effect of structural constraint between panels on the vibration characteristics are investigated numerically and discussed. Especially a natural frequencies by the fluid interaction between 2 panels and a breath mode of the water tank are focused on.

  • Long term earthquake observations at different tunnel sites within a variety of alluvial soil deposits have demonstrated that a circular tunnel is liable to deform in such a way that its two diagonal diameters crossing each other expand and contract alternately. Based on this knowledge, the soil-tunnel interaction and isolation effect for this particular vibration mode is investigated. Interaction effect is considered with the condition of fixed tangential strain between the tunnel and the soil. Isolation effect embodied by covering up the tunnel with isolation materials is discussed as a possible measure for mitigating seismic damage to it. When Poisson`s ratio of isolation material decreases or the shear modulus ratios of the soil to isolation material become large, the isolation effect becomes bigger.
