  • Since 1998 IMF economic crisis, hotel companys have made an operation innovation in generally to reinforce a competitive power. Never ther less, a structural depression with high expense of costs-low degree of efficiency and high price of commodities-low degree of growth during the last few years. And hotel companys were doing endeavor for conquer this depression with reshuffle of the personnal system and that systematizing an enterprise and production control. Hotel has more increase personnel expenses percents than increase sold price percents so that hotel reducing cook and as result, hotel has a problem from production selling of foodservice because that is insufficient of cook man power. On studying this research, an importancy of cusine department in inquire hotel and an efficiency man power control of cusine department influence on hotel marketing were made use of analysis for hotel kitchen management. The result of this study is like that. First, the quality of a hotel employee is directly related to that of hotel service, which is functioned as a principle factor on which success or failure of tie hotel very largely depends, Second, fair evaluation of merits. Third, cognition for job as expert. Fourth, the roles and competences of the employees were affected much by the inner or outer environmental changes surrounding the hotel enterprises. Fifth, do not underestimate an intelligent ability and will power of employee, and hotel company have to manage that the employees consult themselves about their things of department and improve with the master sense for job. Sixth, pay increase and intensive system. This system can raise the will to achievement for employee's job, and company can get many benefits from government. • The task of consolidating server workloads is critical for the efficiency of a datacenter in terms of reducing costs. However, as a greater number of workloads are consolidated in a single server, the performance of workloads might be degraded due to their contention to the limited shared resources. To reduce the performance degradation, scheduling for mitigating the contention of shared resources is necessary. In this paper, we present the Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling (DVFS) based memory-contention aware scheduling method for multi-threaded workloads. The proposed method uses two approaches: running memory-intensive threads on the limited cores to avoid concurrent memory accesses, and reducing the frequencies of the cores that run memory-intensive threads. With the proposed algorithm, we increased performance by 43% and reduced power consumption by 38% compared to the Completely Fair Scheduler(CFS), the default scheduler of Linux.

  • Petascale systems(so called supercomputers) have been mainly used for supporting communication-intensive and tightly-coupled parallel computations based on message passing interfaces such as MPI(HPC: High-Performance Computing). On the other hand, computing paradigms such as High-Throughput Computing(HTC) mainly target compute-intensive (relatively low I/O requirements) applications consisting of many loosely-coupled tasks(there is no communication needed between them). In Korea, recently emerging applications from various scientific fields such as pharmaceutical domain, high-energy physics, and nuclear physics require a very large amount of computing power that cannot be supported by a single type of computing resources. In this paper, we present our HTCaaS(High-Throughput Computing as a Service) which can leverage national distributed computing resources in Korea to support these challenging HTC applications and describe the details of our system architecture, job execution scenario and case studies of various scientific applications.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the predictive ability of three mortality scoring systems; Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE) III, Simplified Acute Physiology Score(SAPS) II, and Mortality Probability Model(MPM) II in discriminating in-hospital mortality for intensive care unit(ICU) patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods: Eighty-nine patients admitted to the ICU at a university hospital in Daejeon Korea were recruited for this study. Medical records of the subject were reviewed by a researcher from January 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004, retrospectively. Data were analyzed using SAS 8.1. General characteristic of the subjects were analyzed for frequency and percentage. Results: The results of this study were summarized as follows. The values of the Hosmer-Lemeshow's goodness-of-fit test for the APACHE III, the SAPS II and the MPM II were chi-square H=4.3849 p=0.7345, chi-square H=15.4491 p=0.0307, and chi-square H=0.3356 p=0.8455, respectively. Thus, The calibration of the MPM II found to be the best scoring system, followed by APACHE III. For ROC curve analysis, the areas under the curves of APACHE III, SAPS II, and MPM II were 0.934, 0.918 and 0.813, respectively. Thus, the discrimination of three scoring systems were satisfactory. For two-by-two decision matrices with a decision criterion of 0.5, the correct classification of three scoring systems were good. Conclusion: Both the APACHE III and the MPM II had an excellent power of mortality prediction and discrimination for spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage patients in ICU.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop the circuit of the dual mode syringe pump. Syringe pump is used in intensive care unit, delivery room, pediatric room, operating theater and other fields of hospital at present. Normally the syringe pump delivers one medicine in one case, but in case of intensive care unit, it is necessary to deliver more than two kinds of medicines at a time. Therefore we have designed dual mode syringe pump. We used RISC type microcontroller, PIC17C44 as master controller, and PIC16C73 as slave cpu using for the low power consumption. The performance of system is evaluated by analysis of the linearity and accuracy which is the most important factors in application. While the proposed system shows a acceptable linearity and accuracy, a further research about reducing the errorr should be done.

  • The security control is to protect IT system from cyber infringement by deriving valid result values in the process of gathering and analyzing various information. Currently, security control is very effective by using SIEM equipment which enables analysis of systematic and comprehensive viewpoint based on a lot of data, away from analyzing cyber threat information with only fragmentary information. However, It can also be said that cyber attacks are analyzed and coped with the manual work of security personnel. This means that even if there is excellent security equipment, the results will vary depending on the user using. In case of operating a characteristic web service including information provision, This study suggests the basic point of security control through characteristics information analysis, and proposes a model for intensive security control through the type discovery and application which enable a step-wise analysis and an effective filtering. Using this model would effectively detect, analyze and block attacks.

  • There is broad agreement that emissions from the shipping sector play a large role in the global climate change debate. In theory, there is broad consensus that the industry must take decisive action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and do its part to combat global warming. The United States has made great strides in addressing emissions from ships, but it is the IMO that plays a key role in shaping global standards for the shipping industry. In the case of Korea, legislation on emissions issues has been prepared, but there are still problems with administrative power. IMO's high-level vision and change, as seen above, requires intensive efforts from industry representatives and requires intensive measures from the government responsible for implementation. It is necessary to consider regulations and the position of the shipping market. However, out of consideration and respect for the urgent reality of global climate change, ship owners, operators and holding companies will need to take voluntary steps to reduce GHG emissions instead of waiting for a new regulatory framework.
