The overarching objective of this study is to predict the convective heat transfer around a human body under forced strong airflow conditions assuming a strong wind blowing through high-rise buildings or an air shower system in an enclosed space. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses of the flow field and temperature distributions around a human body were carried out to estimate the convective heat transfer coefficient for a whole human body assuming adult male geometry under forced convective airflow conditions between 15 m/s and 25 m/s. A total of 45 CFD analyses were analyzed with boundary conditions that included differences in the air velocity, wind direction and turbulence intensity. In the case of approach air velocity $U_{in}=25m/s$ and turbulent intensity TI = 10%, average convective heat transfer coefficient was estimated at approximately $100W/m^2/K$ for the whole body, and strong dependence on air velocity and turbulence intensity was confirmed. Finally, the formula for the mean convective heat transfer coefficient as a function of approaching average velocity and turbulence intensity was approximated by using the concept of equivalent steady wind speed ($U_{eq}$).
Spin-lattice relaxation pathway of $CH_2$ spin system by two dimensional NOESY sequence has been discussed. Two-dimensional spectra governed by dipolar relaxation mechanism were simulated in term of transfer mode, the generalization of conventionally used magnetization mode in one dimension. The transfer matrix directly related to the Redfield relaxation matrix can be constructed by the multiplet of transfer mode. The observable relaxation transfer modes causes to variation of the off-diagonal signal intensity of phase sensitive NOESY spectra from which variable spectral density can be extracted with simple group theoretical calculation. The variation of the J-coupling peak intensity as a function of the mixing time in 2-D spectra for $n-Undecane-5-^{13}C$ and Bromoacetic $2-^{13}C$ acid has been theoretically traced.
A finite model eye of visual acuity 24/20 in emmertropia was presented. We determined the image intensity profile on retina using optical transfer function of model eye, and compared with clinical data. The retinal contrast sensitivity function based on the Stiles-Crawford effect, photopic response, diffraction, aberration, retinal contrast sensitivity, and pupil size is calculated. Visual acuity for human eye could be predicted by examining the modulation transfer function of a bar target and retinal contrast sensitivity function. This visual acuity was evaluated for pupil diameters ranging from 1 to 8 mm.
Optical three-dimensional (3D) measurement systems based on digital fringe projection are used in many contactless measurement applications. The system which can measure a dozen micrometers uses a liquid-crystal display (LCD) as the projection unit for generating a digital fringe pattern, because a flexible fringe pattern can be easily made by computer software. According to the gamma nonlinearity of the LCD projection unit, the digital fringe projection error on the object affects the accuracy of 3D object measurement. An improved method of LCD gamma-nonlinearity error reduction is proposed, by using the inverse function of the intensity transfer function to improve the accuracy. The improvement due to the proposed method is shown by measuring the difference in precision between a computer-generated sine wave and a camera-obtained sine wave for a standard semiconductor specimen.

An experimental study of jet impingement on the surface with linear temperature gradient is conducted with the presentation of the turbulent characteristics and the heat transfer rates measured when this jet impinges normally to a flat plate. The jet Reynolds number ranges from 30,000 to 90,000, the temperature gradient of the plate is 2~$4.2^{\circ}C$/cm and the dimensionless nozzle to plate distance(H/D) is from 6 to 10. The results show that the peak of heat transfer rate occurs at the stagnation point, and the heat transfer rate decreases as the radial distance from the stagnation point increases. A remarkable feature of the heat transfer rate is the existence of the second peak. This is due to the turbulent development of the wall jet. Maximum heat transfer rate occurs when the axial distance from the nozzle to nozzle diameter(H/D) is 8. The heat transfer rate can be correlated as a power function of Prandtl number, Reynolds number and the dimensionless nozzle to plate distance(H/D). It has been found that the heat transfer rate increases with increasing turbulent intensity.

In this paper, equalization zone of two crosstalk cancellation (CC) schemes, which are the one based on only head related transfer function (HRTF) and the other one based on interaural intensity/time difference (ITD/IID) as well as HRTF is studied. To do this, the condition numbers and ITD/IID levels of two schemes are shown.

Tire noise is divided into a road noise(structure-borne noise) and a pattern noise(air-borne noise). Whilst the road noise is caused by the structural vibration of the components on the transfer path from tire to car body, the pattern noise is generated by the air-pumping between tire and road. In this paper, a practical method to estimate the pattern noise inside a passenger car is proposed. The method is developed based on the sound intensity and airborne source quantification. Sound intensity is used for identifying the noise sources of tire. Airborne source quantification is used for estimating the sound pressure level generated by each noise source of a tire. In order to apply the airborne source quantification to the estimation of the sound pressure, the volume velocity of each source should be obtained. It is obtained by using metrics inverse method. The proposed method is successfully applied to the evaluation of the interior noises generated by four types of tires with different pattern each other.

In the conventional photorefractive joint transform correlator(PRJTC), the intensity ration of input signal-to-pump beam should be large enough to saturate two-beam coupling transfer function to obtain a desired correlation result. As a result, the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of correlation result is decreased in a noisy input image. In this paper, we propose the improved method for increasing the SNR of the PRJTC by using the characteristics of BaTiO$_3$. We stop the energy transfer saturating by low intensity ratio of input beam and realize a short length of effective interaction in BaTiO$_3$ by making large incident angle of the signal beam. So the gain in high frequency area is decreased and the gain in low frequency area comes up to the saturation gain of the beam coupling transfer function. Therefore the SNR is improved in noisy input image and the PRJTC can be easily realized by low intensity ratio of input beam.

AVI (Automatic Vision Inspection) systems automatically detect defect features and measure their sizes via camera vision. Defect detection is not an easy process because of noises from various sources and optical distortion. In this paper the acquired images from a TFT panel are enhanced with the adoption of an HVS (Human Visual System). A human visual system is more sensitive on the defect area than the illumination components because it has greater sensitivity to variations of intensity. In this paper we modified an MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) in the Wavelet domain and utilized the characteristics of an HVS. The proposed algorithm flattens the inner illumination components while preserving the defect information intact.
