Existing vulnerability analysis tools are prone to missed detections, incorrect detections, and over-detection, which reduces accuracy. In this paper, cross-checking based on a vulnerability detection method using static and dynamic analysis is proposed, which develops and manages safe applications and can resolve and analyze these problems. Risks due to vulnerabilities are computed, and an intelligent vulnerability detection technique is used to improve accuracy and evaluate risks under the final version of the application. This helps the development and execution of safe applications. Through incorporation of tools that use static analysis and dynamic analysis techniques, our proposed technique overcomes weak points at each stage, and improves the accuracy of vulnerability detection. Existing vulnerability risk-evaluation systems only evaluate self-risks, whereas our proposed vulnerability risk-evaluation system reflects the vulnerability of self-risk and the detection accuracy in a complex fashion to evaluate relative. Our proposed technique compares and analyzes existing analysis tools, such as lists for detections and detection accuracy based on the top 10 items of SANS at CWE. Quantitative evaluation systems for existing vulnerability risks and the proposed application's vulnerability risks are compared and analyzed. We developed a prototype analysis tool using our technique to test the application's vulnerability detection ability, and to show that our proposed technique is superior to existing ones.

The welding has a high proportion of the production and drying of ships or offshore plants. Non-destructive testing is carried out to verify the quality of welds in Korea, radiography test (RT) is mainly used. Currently, most shipyards adopt analog-type techniques to print the films through the shoot of welding parts. Therefore, the time required from radiography test to pass or fail judgment is long and complex, and is being manually carried out by qualified inspectors. To improve this problem, this paper covers a platform for scanning and digitalizing RT films occurring in shipyards with high resolution, accumulating them in management servers, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to detect welding defects. To do this, we describe the process of designing and developing RT film scanning equipment, welding inspection information integrated management platform, fault reading algorithms, visualization software, and testing and verification of each developed element in conjunction.
One of the most intensively conducted research areas in business application study is a bankruptcy prediction model, a representative classification problem related to loan lending, investment decision making, and profitability to financial institutions. Many research demonstrated outstanding performance for bankruptcy prediction models using artificial intelligence techniques. However, since most machine learning algorithms are "black-box," AI has been identified as a prominent research topic for providing users with an explanation. Although there are many different approaches for explanations, this study focuses on explaining a bankruptcy prediction model using a counterfactual example. Users can obtain desired output from the model by using a counterfactual-based explanation, which provides an alternative case. This study introduces a counterfactual generation technique based on a genetic algorithm (GA) that leverages both domain knowledge (i.e., causal feasibility) and feature importance from a black-box model along with other critical counterfactual variables, including proximity, distribution, and sparsity. The proposed method was evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively to measure the quality and the validity.
As interest in health functional foods has increased since COVID-19, the importance of imported food safety inspections is growing. However, in contrast to the annual increase in imports of health functional foods, the budget and manpower required for inspections for import and export are reaching their limit. Hence, the purpose of this study is to propose a machine learning model that efficiently detects unsuitable food suitable for the characteristics of data possessed by government offices on imported food. First, the components of food import/export inspections data that affect the judgment of nonconformity were examined and derived variables were newly created. Second, in order to select features for the machine learning, class imbalance and nonlinearity were considered when performing exploratory analysis on imported food-related data. Third, we try to compare the performance and interpretability of each model by applying various machine learning techniques. In particular, the ensemble model was the best, and it was confirmed that the derived variables and models proposed in this study can be helpful to the system used in import/export inspections.
Fraudulent companies or sellers strategically manipulate reviews to influence customers' purchase decisions; therefore, the reliability of reviews has become crucial for customer decision-making. Since customers increasingly rely on online reviews to search for more detailed information about products or services before purchasing, many researchers focus on detecting manipulated reviews. However, the main problem in detecting manipulated reviews is the difficulties with obtaining data with manipulated reviews to utilize machine learning techniques with sufficient data. Also, the number of manipulated reviews is insufficient compared with the number of non-manipulated reviews, so the class imbalance problem occurs. The class with fewer examples is under-represented and can hamper a model's accuracy, so machine learning methods suffer from the class imbalance problem and solving the class imbalance problem is important to build an accurate model for detecting manipulated reviews. Thus, we propose an OpenAI-based reviews generation model to solve the manipulated reviews imbalance problem, thereby enhancing the accuracy of manipulated reviews detection. In this research, we applied the novel autoregressive language model - GPT-3 to generate reviews based on manipulated reviews. Moreover, we found that applying GPT-3 model for oversampling manipulated reviews can recover a satisfactory portion of performance losses and shows better performance in classification (logit, decision tree, neural networks) than traditional oversampling models such as random oversampling and SMOTE.

Recently, the satellite industry has been paying attention to the private-led 'New Space' paradigm, which is a departure from the traditional government-led industry. The space industry, which is considered to be the next food industry, is still receiving relatively little attention in Korea compared to the global market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore future signals that can help determine the market entry strategies of private companies in the domestic satellite industry. To this end, this study utilizes the theoretical background of future signal theory and the Keyword Portfolio Map method to analyze keyword potential in patent document data based on keyword growth rate and keyword occurrence frequency. In addition, news data was collected to categorize future signals into first symptom and early information, respectively. This is utilized as an interpretive indicator of how the keywords reveal their actual potential outside of patent documents. This study describes the process of data collection and analysis to explore future signals and traces the evolution of each keyword in the collected documents from a weak signal to a strong signal by specifically visualizing how it can be used through the visualization of keyword maps. The process of this research can contribute to the methodological contribution and expansion of the scope of existing research on future signals, and the results can contribute to the establishment of new industry planning and research directions in the satellite industry.
The conversational agents such as AI speakers utilize voice conversation for human-computer interaction. Voice recognition errors often occur in conversational situations. Recognition errors in user utterance records can be categorized into two types. The first type is misrecognition errors, where the agent fails to recognize the user's speech entirely. The second type is misinterpretation errors, where the user's speech is recognized and services are provided, but the interpretation differs from the user's intention. Among these, misinterpretation errors require separate error detection as they are recorded as successful service interactions. In this study, various text separation methods were applied to detect misinterpretation. For each of these text separation methods, the similarity of consecutive speech pairs using word embedding and document embedding techniques, which convert words and documents into vectors. This approach goes beyond simple word-based similarity calculation to explore a new method for detecting misinterpretation errors. The research method involved utilizing real user utterance records to train and develop a detection model by applying patterns of misinterpretation error causes. The results revealed that the most significant analysis result was obtained through initial consonant extraction for detecting misinterpretation errors caused by the use of unregistered neologisms. Through comparison with other separation methods, different error types could be observed. This study has two main implications. First, for misinterpretation errors that are difficult to detect due to lack of recognition, the study proposed diverse text separation methods and found a novel method that improved performance remarkably. Second, if this is applied to conversational agents or voice recognition services requiring neologism detection, patterns of errors occurring from the voice recognition stage can be specified. The study proposed and verified that even if not categorized as errors, services can be provided according to user-desired results.
In order to automatically provide information on fruits in agricultural related broadcasting contents, instance image segmentation of target fruits is required. In addition, the information on the 3D pose of the corresponding fruit may be meaningfully used. This paper represents research that provides information about tomatoes in video content. A large amount of data is required to learn the instance segmentation, but it is difficult to obtain sufficient training data. Therefore, the training data is generated through a data augmentation technique based on a small amount of real images. Compared to the result using only the real images, it is shown that the detection performance is improved as a result of learning through the synthesized image created by separating the foreground and background. As a result of learning augmented images using images created using conventional image pre-processing techniques, it was shown that higher performance was obtained than synthetic images in which foreground and background were separated. To estimate the pose from the result of object detection, a point cloud was obtained using an RGB-D camera. Then, cylinder fitting based on least square minimization is performed, and the tomato pose is estimated through the axial direction of the cylinder. We show that the results of detection, instance image segmentation, and cylinder fitting of a target object effectively through various experiments.
Bitcoin is a blockchain technology-based digital currency that has been recognized as a representative cryptocurrency and a financial investment asset. Due to its highly volatile nature, Bitcoin has gained a lot of attention from investors and the public. Based on this popularity, numerous studies have been conducted on price and trend prediction using machine learning and deep learning. This study employed LSTM (Long Short Term Memory) and CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks), which have shown potential for predictive performance in the finance domain, to enhance the classification accuracy in Bitcoin price trend prediction. XAI(eXplainable Artificial Intelligence) techniques were applied to the predictive model to enhance its explainability and interpretability by providing a comprehensive explanation of the model. In the empirical experiment, CNN was applied to technical indicators and Google trend data to build a Bitcoin price trend prediction model, and the CNN model using both technical indicators and Google trend data clearly outperformed the other models using neural networks, SVM, and LSTM. Then SHAP(Shapley Additive exPlanations) was applied to the predictive model to obtain explanations about the output values. Important prediction drivers in input variables were extracted through global interpretation, and the interpretation of the predictive model's decision process for each instance was suggested through local interpretation. The results show that our proposed research framework demonstrates both improved classification accuracy and explainability by using CNN, Google trend data, and SHAP.
With the development of information and communication technology, numerous reviews are continuously posted on websites, which causes information overload problems. Therefore, users face difficulty in exploring reviews for their decision-making. To solve such a problem, many studies on review helpfulness prediction have been actively conducted to provide users with helpful and reliable reviews. Existing studies predict review helpfulness mainly based on the features included in the review. However, such studies disable providing the reason why predicted reviews are helpful. Therefore, this study aims to propose a methodology for applying eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques in review helpfulness prediction to address such a limitation. This study uses restaurant reviews collected from Yelp.com to compare the prediction performance of six models widely used in previous studies. Next, we propose an explainable review helpfulness prediction model by applying the XAI technique to the model with the best prediction performance. Therefore, the methodology proposed in this study can recommend helpful reviews in the user's purchasing decision-making process and provide the interpretation of why such predicted reviews are helpful.
