A RFID Contents Middleware for Intelligent Outdoor Advertising System (지능형 옥외 광고 시스템을 위한 RFID 콘텐츠 미들웨어)

  • This paper sets a goal at developing an intelligent advertising system that displays only an advertisement in which interests passers by collecting their RFID information and analysing it in order to improve the defect of outdoor advertising boards which unilaterally advertise regardless of people's interest. For this purpose, we propose a RFID contents middleware which generates a meaningful event and streams an advertising content corresponding with the passers' interest after filtering and analysing the recognized RFID data. We implemented the RFID middleware with Sun Java RFID software and made an experiment by designing a RFID emulator. As a result of the experiment. we found that this system displays the advertisement according to the passers' information.

  • In this paper, we propose effective integration and operation methods for environment-friendly smart home appliance which are applying hardware integration technology using high speed Ethernet network technology and software integration technology using RT middleware. We also describe the integration of distributed hardware device by using high speed Ethernet and software integration technology by using RT middleware. We implement the integration management system of environment-friendly smart home appliance applying high speed Ethernet and RT middleware technology.

  • Ubiquitous services are high duality and differentiated services which are provided for users by recognizing the context of users and environmental conditions actively. In this case, context-aware middleware is one of the most important technologies required to implement the ubiquitous services. In this paper, we proposed a method for providing ubiquitous services in a specific user space effectively. That is, the design and implementation of intelligent home service middleware based on context awareness is discussed here. Context information from various sensors is gathered, and suitable services are inferred and provided to users by the middleware system.

  • With the proliferation of advanced wireless network and sensor technologies, smart devices under USN(ubiquitous sensor network) environment are capable of collecting context information such as temperature, humidity, weight, and location about objects at real time. Therefore, applications must be able to analyze collected information and notify useful information to wanted users timely. This service can be realized by implementing an event-based middleware. In the middleware, event messages collected from physical environment will be filtered according to profiles that users define in advance and the result will be sent to the interested users. In this paper, we present XML-based event model, ECA-based profile model, and the architecture of an event-based middleware suitable to USN environment. We will also model and describe them using the examples of logistics area. By implementing the system based on the design above, the middleware enable applications or users to easily access to physical sources. The proposed middleware can also apply to not only logistics area but also other various areas under USN environment such as intelligent traffic control system, national disaster management system and u-medical system.

  • With the advent of ubiquitous computing environments, it has become increasingly important for applications to take full advantage of contextual information, such as the user's location, to offer greater services to the user without any explicit requests. In this paper, we propose context-aware active services based on context-aware middleware for URC systems (CAMUS). The CAMUS is a middleware that provides context-aware applications with a development and execution methodology. Accordingly, the applications based on CAMUS respond in a timely fashion to contextual information. This paper presents the system architecture of CAMUS and illustrates the content recommendation and control service agents with the properties, operations, and tasks for context-aware active services. To evaluate CAMUS, we apply the proposed active services to a TV application domain. We implement and experiment with a TV content recommendation service agent, a control service agent, and TV tasks based on CAMUS. The implemented content recommendation service agent divides the user's preferences into common and specific models to apply other recommendations and applications easily, including the TV content recommendations.

  • This thesis aims to realize an intelligent home service robot that alerts the user to dangerous situations such as fires and gas leaks by utilizing wireless internet platforms in a cellular phone. The intelligent home service robot is composed of the following parts: The robot part consists of a gas sensor, a fire detector, a smoke sensor, ultrasonic sensors, motors, a camera and a Blue-tooth module and perceives various danger circumstances; The middleware part connects the robot part with the mobile part through the middleware applications, monitors the robot and notifies an emergency situation using SMS modules; The mobile part communicates with the middleware using TCP/IP protocol and controls the robot through various commands; The proposed scheme is to control the sensors of the robot part through and Atmega128 processor, and the mobile part was developed based on the WIPI platform. The robot and middleware parts will be installed in the household, and will be controled by mobile part from the outside.

  • Adaptive services need to become as mobile as their users and be extended to take advantage of the constantly changing context in which they are accessed. Context-awareness is a technology to facilitate information acquisition and execution by supporting interoperability between users and devices based on users' context. The objective of this study is to develop a middleware fer dealing with context-awareness in ubiquitous computing. To achieve it, our middleware plays an important role in recognizing a moving node with mobility by using a bluetooth wireless communication technology as well as in executing an appropriate execution module according to the context acquired from a context server. In addition, for verifying the usefulness of the Proposed middleware, we develop an application system which Provides a music playing service based on context information by using our context middleware.

  • Proportionately with a rapid development of mobile instrument technology, the number of mobile contents utilizing computing environment's graphic technology or image processing is increasing. In this paper, I designed a middleware which supports facial detection and recognition system based WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability), the Korean standard mobile platform. The facial recognition middleware introduced the object oriented concepts, to apply to recognition security and other contents by using mobile camera. This can reduce the development time and cost by dividing process while developing software. Therefore, it would be applied to content security or technology transfer with other company. Facial recognition middleware system is composed of face detection module and face recognition module, and proposes the application contents design method based on WIPI platform.

  • In order to maximize an efficient management of human cell resource under the cryogenic environments, in this paper, a middleware is introduced to support the function for multiple-perceiving RFID tags of intelligent sample case which can share medical information between sensor network devices. Optimized user interface is also designed for that. On based of the designing, special tasks required of a genetic resource working process can be processed on Complex Machine.

  • Presently, It is required to change convergence the role of hardware system and software technology that promoted trust of In-Vehicle for integrated complex system visibility evaluation. There is possibility for the period system can invoke unpredictable confusing blank state. The blank state systems have ecosystem characteristics that are supplied, maintained and operated through the complex interactions of technology and culture. Using universal middleware can support the life-cycle model and increase the visibility of complex systems and prepare for confusing situations. In this study, based on universal middleware, data and service dynamic standardized modules were evaluated to support stable system visibility platform. The system visibility module consists of Intelligent Pervasive Cloud module, Memorial Service module and Life Cycler connection module. In addition, the analysis results are supported by various network application service standards through platform independent system and architecture.
