A study on a sequenced directed diffusion algorithm for sensor networks (센서네트워크용 Sequenced Directed Diffusion 기법 연구)

  • Advances in wireless networking, micro-fabrication and integration, and embedded microprocessors have enabled a new generation of massive-scale sensor networks. Because each sensor node is limited in size and capacity, it is very important to design a new simple and energy efficient protocol. Among conventional sensor networks' routing protocols, the directed diffusion scheme is widely blown because of its simplicity. This scheme, however, has a defect in that sending interest and exploratory data messages while setting connection paths consumes much energy because of its flooding scheme. Therefore, this paper proposes a new sensor network routing protocol, called sequenced directed diffusion with a threshold control, which compromises the conventional directed diffusion scheme's defect and offers an energy efficient routing idea. With a computer simulation, its performance is evaluated and compared to the conventional directed diffusion scheme. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme offers energy efficiency while routing packets, and resolves ill-balanced energy consumption among sensor nodes.

  • This study introduces a novel approach for identifying potential failure risks in missile manufacturing by leveraging Quality Inspection Management (QIM) data to address the challenges presented by a dataset comprising 666 variables and data imbalances. The utilization of the SMOTE for data augmentation and Lasso Regression for dimensionality reduction, followed by the application of a Random Forest model, results in a 99.40% accuracy rate in classifying missiles with a high likelihood of failure. Such measures enable the preemptive identification of missiles at a heightened risk of failure, thereby mitigating the risk of field failures and enhancing missile life. The integration of Lasso Regression and Random Forest is employed to pinpoint critical variables and test items that significantly impact failure, with a particular emphasis on variables related to performance and connection resistance. Moreover, the research highlights the potential for broadening the scope of data-driven decision-making within quality control systems, including the refinement of maintenance strategies and the adjustment of control limits for essential test items.

  • An understanding of importance of port has increased according to the in and out environment changes surrounding port. And the jurisdiction of physical distribution including port logistics integrated to Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. It is a good time for review the related port law once more. Present related port law has no problems itself. But because there are many laws about port, so overlap is shown in many aspects. According to this viewpoint, this study has focused to reduce the overlap in the contents of the laws and propose the improvement methods. So as to achieve this goal, I divided study fields into three aspects. The first is the subject of port management and second is the object of port management, the third is contents of port management. And also improvement plan provided in three aspects. Improvement plan is as follows. Firstly, the diversity of management subject is reduced considerably due to the integration of government organization but the problem which what laws among the various laws would adopt to same object is still remained. So it is necessary to make into one or two laws. Secondly, in the case of object of port management, it is essential to cover the port, port facilities and port hinterland with one comprehensive law. Therefore it is important to adjust the related clauses in various laws. Thirdly, in connection with the contents of port management, port development plan or other related port business and etc. described in various laws have to cordinated. At the same time, it is desirable that the similar terminology used in various laws would be unified.

A Study on Fashion Toys Appearing in Modern Fashion (현대패션에 나타난 패션 토이에 관한 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the process of how modern fashion establishes new consumption cultures by analyzing the different types of fashion toys that have appeared in modern fashion, and identifying inherent meanings of the said toys. The range of this study was limited to four collections (New York, London, Milano, Paris) from 2000 to 2015. In addition to these collections, advertisement campaign and cooperative examples as well as examples of fashion toys that appeared in public interest activities and collections were included. The selected materials were classified into different types of fashion toy usage. From the results of analyzing fashion toys appearing in modern fashion, the four following characteristics. After analyzing the use of fashion toys in modern fashion, four characteristics were found. First, fashion toys were found to be a means to maximize the visual effects of the collection stage. Second, fashion toys utilized as a fashion object were key elements in transforming neo-pop into modern fashion, and constructing high fashion. Third, the fact that people's fashion and fashion toys share contemporary fashion means that customers are shared through the integration of diverse media. This leads to creation of new benefits. Fourth, fashion toys are meaningful because the products reflect contemporary culture, and extend the scope of fashion and art, as it can be considered fashion as well as art. In conclusion, fashion toys were meaningful in that high fashion broke from conservative values, and swiftly introduced contemporary culture codes. It derived a point of effective contact to present a new way of consumption and extended the scope of fashion.

Innovation City and Competitiveness of Region and Nation (혁신도시와 지역 및 국가의 경쟁력)

  • This paper explores changing concept of city in the context of globalization with innovation city and examines the characteristics of innovation city along with regional and national competitiveness. It is agreed that construction of innovation city by relocation of public institutions for balanced development of the country has valid logic. However, there are weak possibilities of innovation within the innovation city. Further more it is not a proper solution for the level up of national and regional competitiveness through this policy. The main logic is that physical relocation of institutions do not guarantee innovation of region through integration into globalization network resulting from the scale difference between nation and globe. Rather this paper suggests that regional innovation policy should performed in accordance with regional conditions and for the better competitiveness of nation and region, decentralization of power is needed. Then a region could have connection with global pipeline based on endogenous development power.

Mutual Verification of an Analytic Model of a Complex System and Space Syntax Using Network Analyses (네트워크 분석방식 선택에 따른 복잡계 모형과 공간구문론의 상호검증)

  • A social phenomenon that occurs in a physical space is said to be a complex system. However, space syntax, which is commonly employed by researchers to identify such social phenomena, has various limitations in interpreting their complexity. On the other hand, agent-based modeling considers a variety of factors including the personality of the agent, objective-oriented work flows, estimation according to time flows and better prediction of space use through diverse parameters depending the situation, as well as the characteristics of the space. The agent-based method thus has the potentials to be developed as an alternative to space syntax techniques. In particular, discrete event driven simulation(DEVS), which is part of the agent-based modeling method, embraces the concept of networks just like space syntax, which allows a possible theoretical linkage in the future. This study suggests a procedural model of agent-based DEVS reflecting two different connection methods, i.e. connections between adjacent areas and those of the entire space, and attempts to identify the relationship between the local and regional indices of space syntax. A number of spaces were selected as examples-one for a preliminary experiment and eight modified for the main experiment-and space syntax and DEVS were applied to each of them. The comparative analysis of the results led to the conclusions as follows: 1) Adjacent connections were closely related to local indices, while the whole-space approach to regional indices. Local integration shows both characteristics. 2) Observation of the time flow model indicated a faster convergence with the range of 1 to 3-fold of the total time of one lap, with the error of less than 10%. 3) The heat map analysis showed more obvious characteristics of using the space for the entire space rather than adjacent connections. 4) Space syntax shows higher eligibility than ABM.

  • This paper discusses multiple access control aspects for a wireless extension of high-speed asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) networks. One challenging requirement is that mobile systems convey of diverse types of information including voice, computer data, facsimile, and video data that have different quality of service constraints. Basically, a centralized control scheme for a coordinated multiple access is required in order to efficiently accommodate multimedia traffic on wireless links. The proposed scheme dynamically scheduling the mobile terminal, which has data to transfer according to the service, types at base station. In this scheme, the scheduling algorithm is performed on the basis of traffic descriptors and QoS parameters, which required in the connection set up phase. As a consequence, the transmission scheduling is very flexible and can account for the different traffic rate and delay constraints that emerge from voice and data integration. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme has better performance over other scheduling algorithms.

  • Home healthcare system has lot of things to do for the integration with medical instruments in the sense of standardization. We will design and implement mobile healthcare system based on smart gateway thru adaptation of ISO/IEEE 11073, and HL7 standard. And also we are willing to research heart rate monitor, pulse-oxygen meter and ECG monitor in order to develop mobile healthcare system for medical appliance. We studied the connection of standard medical devices, i.e, continua health alliance under the Android 4.x Bluetooth HDP(Health Device Profile) environments. We also tried to implement healthcare system which can support diagnosis for healthcare provider and user based on HL7 standard.

  • As social perceptions of pets change, cultural attitudes toward pets are becoming more friendly. In particular, dogs have been living familiarly and closely with humans for a long time. In the changing times, various services are being used to improve the understanding of dogs and to prevent companion dogs and increase awareness of respect for life. Therefore, in this paper, we implemented a smart lead line in which IoT service and application technology are linked to the walking dog's automatic lead line. To do this, we developed a smart dog lead line by designing and implementing an integrated module in connection with heterogeneous sensors and linking it with a dog lead line. Finally, a smart dog lead line was used to collect the dog's biological signals in real time, identify the location of the dog, and provide a notification system. Through this, we believe that the culture of dog culture can be further grown.

  • The purpose of this study is to present implications in the planning and design methodology for revitalization of public spaces for mixed-use residential building. For the purpose, I have taken a literature research and a site analysis with cases of 'Kyungsung Univ.·Bukyung Nat'l Univ. Station'-area in Busan City. The analysis framework was consist of spatial composition, street facilities, use behavior, and connection with the street. The result of this study is as follows; 1) It is needed to consist of an empty space practically usable in an open location that is easy to access by the general public. 2) Considering the use of people, it is needed to install street furniture that can actually be used for rest. 3) It is needed to make a plan and design that considers the access and use of the general public and the space through it. 4) It is needed to create a synergistic effect in the integration of the street and the public space and the linkage with the street through this.
