Robotics has been increasing its role among factors affecting teachers' technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge(TPACK) in education. This paper reviews these factors and analyses each to identify those most influential: teachers' individual (gender, teaching experiences), professional development(PD) for technology integration, psycho-philosophical characteristics (attitude toward technology integration, constructive belief), and school characteristics.Those having the most significant influence on teachers' TPACK of robotics were PD for technology integration from individual characteristics, attitudes toward technology integration, educational belief from psycho-philosophical characteristics, and schools' atmosphere and support from school characteristics.Thisreview confirmed that PD for technology integration and school atmosphere are the two most influential factors among all factors considered. Practical implications on precautions for effective integration of robotics in education were identified.
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of activity engagement on life satisfaction and ego integration in late adulthood and to investigate the mediating effect of life meaning between activity engagement and life satisfaction and ego integration. 700 elderly(359 male, 350 female) who retired and over 55 years old completed questionnaires. Structural equation model analysis using AMOS showed that the suggested model is appropriate. Results showed that activity engagement was positively associated with life satisfaction and ego integration. and results also showed that life meaning mediated the relationship between activity engagement and life satisfaction and ego integration. Lastly, We discussed the implications of the roles of activity engagement and life meaning on life satisfaction and ego integration for elderly and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research.
A measuring instrument must be calibrated for accurate inferences of an unknown quantity. Bayesian calibration designs with respect to squared error loss based on a linear model are discussed in Kim and Barlow (1992). In this paper, we consider approximations of the optimal calibration designs using the idea of Gaussian inflence diagrams. The approximation is evaluated by means of numerical calculations, where it is compared with the exact values from the numerical integration.

Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) is an environment friendly method of using coal. Several commercial IGCC plants have been built worldwide during the past decade, and a domestic development project has also been launched recently. Operation and performance characteristics of a gas turbine in the IGCC plant deviates from those of original gas turbines due to several factors such as increased amount of fuel supply and integration with other components. In this study, performance of a gas turbine in the IGCC plant is analyzed considering its integration with the air separation unit (ASU). Influence of the degree of integration (split of air supplies to ASU from the auxiliary compressor and the gas turbine compressor) on the system performance is investigated. In addition, effect of modulating nitrogen return flow from the gasifier to the gas turbine on the operating characteristics of the gas turbine is examined.
These days, firms are focusing on the improvement of relationships with business partners. The supply chain integrations are taking critical role in improving the relationships with business partners. In accordance with the development of the IT technology, it became possible for firms not only to integrate inner parts of the organization, but also to integrate the company with other organizations in the supply chain. Therefore, in e-Biz environments, it is imperative for firms to strengthen the core capacity through the supply chain, and to precisely determine the components of the determinants of e-Business integration which impact the firm performance. This study analyzed determinants that have impacts on e-business integration in e-business capacity perspectives in competitive environments. This study based on the premise that the resources and capacities that Grant(1991) and Hart(1995) emphasized do not directly influence the corporate performance. This study focused on the fact that corporate must create core competencies based on these capacities to establish competitive edge. Therefore, this study model analyzed to find out which e-Biz competencies are needed to integrate e-Biz according to competitive environment elements. This study designed to empirically analyze the impact of the e-Biz competencies to the e-Biz integration and to the corporate performance. Independent variables of this study-IT management, partner management, e-Biz knowledge, e-Biz establishment and proliferation, process innovation-are selected based on precedent studies on e-Biz competencies. We selected intermediate variables to verify that e-Biz competencies do not have direct impact on the corporate performance, but have impact on the e-Biz integration, which is intermediate effect. That is to verify that if the components of supply chain improve the integration level using e-Biz competencies, the overall supply chain performances will improve. Dependent variables are selected to verify that e-Biz integration has impacts on corporate performances. This study used factor analysis, path analysis, moderating effect analysis as statistical tests. First, we used exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to analyze reliability and validity. Because e-Biz competencies are presented variously by preceding studies, we used SPSS16.0 to verify if survey questionnaire used by theoretical backgrounds is properly composed. Second, we tested the property of structure model by AMOS. We did path analysis using AMOS16.0 to test structure that is composed of e-Biz competencies and e-Biz integration. Last, we tested moderating effects of measure factors. We analyzed 163 domestic companies to find out many significant suggestive points. First, relationship improvement capacity, e-business knowledge sharing capacity with business partners, and process innovation capacity are adopted as determinants of differentiation and competitive edges against competing firms. Second, e-business knowledge sharing capacity, and process innovation capacity are analyzed as the determinants of e-business integration in the firm which demand fluctuation in the market is high. On the other hand, among the determinants that require capturing ideas on new products, and strengthening the technological power, process innovation capacity are adopted as the determinants. These results provide us the foundation that the determinants that we have analyzed can impact the supply chain integration strategies which take into account the competitive environments.
M&A is an important strategic decision made to ensure the competitiveness of companies and cases of M&A have been increasing in recent years. But the success of an M&A is not assured. In order to succeed, there should first be a well managed strategic leadership by the CEO and an integration strategy. Companies need also to overcome the resistance to change among members. A successful example of an M&A is that of LG Chem and Hyundai Petrochemical. By using this M&A as a case study, the influence of the CEO's Strategic Leadership, and the Integration Strategy on Resistance, Acceptance and Performance were assessed. For this study, research was conducted on CEO Strategic Leadership and Integration Strategy before members of LG Chem (DAESAN PLANT) were interviewed on the M&A's implementation by LG Chem's HR staff, management and members. The results show that CEO strategic leadership and the integration strategy are major change drivers and that they are important to the early stabilization of M&A companies. Finally, suggestions are made as to how such success may be replicated for other companies undergoing M&A in the future.
With business environments around the world facing uncertainty and complexity, companies have focused on supply chain management as one of the essential elements in securing a competitive advantage. Successful supply chain management requires internal efforts to strengthen the core competencies of the company and the integration of individual functions in the supply chain. This study aims to investigate the effect of information sharing between companies on supply chain integration and corporate performance. The research hypothesis established in previous studies was analyzed using structural equation modeling. A total of 723 questionnaire responses were used to test the hypotheses of this study. We found that the integration and sharing of information between companies have a great influence on supply chain integration, which has positive effects on corporate performance at the operational and strategic levels, including finance, market share, and customer satisfaction. The integration of supply chains via information integration and sharing between companies can promote the flow of information, services, goods, and money. Therefore, if information is disconnected between actors in the supply chain, it will lead to negative effects on the management of the entire supply chain. On the other hand, if supply chain actors can share information efficiently in real time on one platform, they can expect to optimize the entire supply chain. Information sharing and integration at the strategic and operational levels play a vital role in supply chain integration, which contributes to achieving a company's performance targets and enhancing its competitiveness.
Why solar companies preferred vertical integration of whole value chain? Major solar companies have built internally strong vertical integration of entire PV value chain. We raise a question whether such integration increases the corporate value and whether market situation affects the result. To test these questions, we conducted multi-variant analysis where characteristic factors mainly affect the corporate value measured in terms of Tobin'Q, based on the financial and non-financial data of PV companies listed in US stock market between 2005 and 2010. We hypothesize that since integration increases the overall efficiency but decreases the flexibility to adjust to various market situation, the combined effect of the efficiency gain and the flexibility loss ultimately determines the sign of integration effect on the corporate vale. We infer that the combined effect will be influenced heavily by business cycle, as in boom market (Seller's market) the efficiency gain may be larger than the flexibility loss and vice versa in bust market. We test whether the sign of combined effect changes after the year of 2009 and which factors influence most the sign. Year of 2009 is known as the year when market shifted from Seller's to Buyer's market. We show that 1) integration increases corporate value in general but after 2009 integration significantly decreases the value, 2) the ratios such as Production/Total Cost, Cash turnover period chosen for reversal of the flexibility measure are negatively affect Tobin's Q and especially stronger after 2009. This shows the flexibility improves corporate value and stronger in the recess period (Buyer's market). These results imply that solar company should set up integration strategy considering the tradeoff between efficiency and flexibility and the impact of the business cycle on both factors. Strategy only based on the price competitiveness determined in boom time can bring undesirable outcomes to the company. In addition, Strategic alliances in some value chains as a flexible bondage should be taken in account as complementary choice to the rigid integration.
Spatial data integration using multiple geo-based data sets has been regarded as one of the primary GIS application issues. As for this issue, several integration schemes have been developed as the perspectives of mathematical geology or geo-mathematics. However, research-based approaches for statistical/quantitative assessments between integrated layer and input layers are not fully considered yet. Related to this niche point, in this study, spatial data integration using multiple geoscientific data sets by known integration algorithms was primarily performed. For spatial integration by using raster-based GIS functionality, geological, geochemical, geophysical data sets, DEM-driven data sets and remotely sensed imagery data sets from the Ogdong area were utilized for geological thematic mapping related by mineral potential mapping. In addition, statistical/quantitative information extraction with respective to relationships among used data sets and/or between each data set and integrated layer was carried out, with the scope of multiple data fusion and schematic statistical assessment methodology. As for the spatial integration scheme, certainty factor (CF) estimation and principal component analysis (PCA) were applied. However, this study was not aimed at direct comparison of both methodologies; whereas, for the statistical/quantitative assessment between integrated layer and input layers, some statistical methodologies based on contingency table were focused. Especially, for the bias reduction, jackknife technique was also applied in PCA-based spatial integration. Through the statistic analyses with respect to the integration information in this case study, new information for relationships of integrated layer and input layers was extracted. In addition, influence effects of input data sets with respect to integrated layer were assessed. This kind of approach provides a decision-making information in the viewpoint of GIS and is also exploratory data analysis in conjunction with GIS and geoscientific application, especially handing spatial integration or data fusion with complex variable data sets.

This study investigated the influence of mother and peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies of children. Following research questions were established. First, what is the influence of mother and peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies of children? Second, does the influence of mother and peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies of children differ according to sex? Third, what is the relative influence of mother and peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies of children? 485 fifth graders(male, 184; female, 163) from elementary schools located in Busan participated in this study and completed Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment and Conflict Resolution Strategies Scale. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Simple Regression and Multiple Regression Analysis. Major findings of this study were summarized as follows: First, both mother and peer attachment influenced on compromising and integration, avoiding and obliging strategies although the degree of influence were different. Second, the influence of mother and peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies differ according to gender. Third, the influence of peer attachment on conflict resolution strategies were greater than the one of mother attachment. Finally the significance of this study were presented with comments on limitations of this study.
