Double-Loop Coil Design for Wireless Power Transfer to Embedded Sensors on Spindles

  • The major drawbacks of magnetic resonant coupled wireless power transfer (WPT) to the embedded sensors on spindles are transmission instability and low efficiency of the transmission. This paper proposes a novel double-loop coil design for wirelessly charging embedded sensors. Theoretical and finite-element analyses show that the proposed coil has good transmission performance. In addition, the power transmission capability of the double-loop coil can be improved by reducing the radius difference and width difference of the transmitter and receiver. It has been demonstrated by analysis and practical experiments that a magnetic resonant coupled WPT system using the double-loop coil can provide a stable and efficient power transmission to embedded sensors.

  • In this paper, we investigate the existence and controllability results for a class of abstract stochastic evolution differential inclusions with nonlocal conditions where the linear part is nondensely defined and satisfies the Hille-Yosida condition. The results are obtained by using integrated semigroup theory and a fixed point theorem for condensing map due to Martelli.

학회 학술정보시스템 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on Building Society Research Information System)

  • Academic societies in the field of science and technology are major producers of domestic research information. These information are very important sources to researchers, students and so on. KORDIC built an integrated information system which facilitates the progress of building databases and promotes users easy access to databases. In order to build efficient society research information system, we investigated former cases and analyzed requirement of each society. We identified principal information sources and built an integrated information service system using internet homepage and information retrieval system(KRISTAL-II). In the future we will expand participating societies and focus on text-based information.

브로일러산업의 유사경제통합 (Quasi-Economic Integration in the Broiler Industry)

  • The pattern of economic integration in the broiler industry can be grouped into three categories; 1) non-integration, 2) quasi-integration and 3) complete-integration. It is general to see that the non-integration is quite common under the market conditions of perfect competition, whereas the complete integration is more preferable in the imperfect competition. The quasi-integration, however, exists at all phases where the complete integration is not fully formed and implemented, but the non-integration has begun to alter its nature into integrated structure. The broiler industry in Korea has been characterized with the typically non-integrated independent operation, resulting in considerable price fluctuation and unstable industry as a whole. As a means of solving out the problem stemed from the non-integrated, growers and agribusinessmen involved in broiler industry have tended to develope the regular customer relationship prevailed between two parties. In fact, it has been practiced for years that most growers have been dealt with factor suppliers or processors on a regular basis for advantages of better price and quality, useful information, management help and so forth. Under the customary transaction, no formal contract has been made due to simple buyers and sellers relations, not like the one used to be performed in the form of contractual agreement. The broiler industry realizes the direction to go ahead toward the formal arrangement of integrated system from current regular transactions. As more Vowers, suppliers and processors recognize the necessity of it, the non-integrated industry appears to become the partially integrated by developing the existing customer relationship in such a way that functions of integrators are. further expanded and better organized. As a result, a type of quasi-integration started to show up by an integrator dominated in the field of hatching, feedmilling, dressing and by a grower's coop, It is concluded, therefore, that the evolution of quasi-integration in Korea's broiler industry is continuously taking place, implying the close approach to the completely integrated broiler production and marketing system.

수학교과의 통합 교수-학습자료 개발 현황 분석 (Analysis on the development of integrated teaching-learning materials of the mathematics and other subjects)

  • 수학은 오랜 역사를 가진 학문으로 수학으로부터 새로운 학문이 발생하기도 하고 다른 학문과의 관련을 계속 이어왔기에 수학과 타 교과 통합 교육은 수학의 학문적 특성에 비추어 자연스러운 시도라 할 수 있다. 그렇지만 과학 과목의 주제를 수학의 학습 소재로 다루는 시도 외에 타 교과와 통합을 통한 수학 교육 연구는 별로 이루어지지 않았다. 본고에서는 수학과 타 교과 통합 교육의 유형과 통합 교육에 대한 국내 연구 동향을 살펴보고 고등학교 수학 교과와 사회 교과의 통합 교수-학습자료를 중심으로 하여 수학과 타 교과와의 통합 교수-합습자료를 문헌연구를 통하여 알아보았다. 그 결과, 수학의 유용성에 대한 인식 제고 및 흥미도 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 수학과 과학 또는 수학과 사회 외에도 예술, 체육, 국어 교과와의 통합 자료도 최근 개발되었음을 알 수 있는데, 이에 대한 수정 보완에 대한 연구는 본고를 토대로 하여 앞으로 더 수행되어야 할 것이다.

The Impact of Integrating Engineering into Science Learning on Student's Conceptual Understandings of the Concept of Heat Transfer

  • Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology (STEM) integrated education has been spotlighted as a new approach for promoting students' conceptual understanding and supporting their future career in STEM field. There is increasing evidence of the positive impact of using a whole design process that can be an example of STEM integrated activities to improve students' conceptual understanding and problem solving skills. However, there is a lack of information on how teachers should accomplish science and engineering integration activities in their classroom and what process they should pay attention. To answer this question, we research the relationship between an design process and students' conceptual understanding using an engineering design activity, called 'Save the Penguins', and study on how each step in an engineering design process in this activity enhance students' conceptual knowledge in science. We found that testing their prototypes and discussing with their peers were the most important process for students to understand and apply science concept for their design, even though the whole engineering design process (demonstration about radiation, discussion about examples in our lives, and testing and reviewing their prototypes, and making final design) helps the students understand the scientific concepts.

통합적 유아 과학 교육과정의 접근 방식 (Integrated Approach to Early Childhood Curriculum for Science)

  • 이 연구는 유아교육 실제와 발달적으로 적합한 유아를 위한 과학교육의 방안으로서 통합적 유아 과학 교육과정의 접근 방식을 다루는데 초점을 두었다. 먼저, 유아 과학 교육의 쟁점을 살펴보고, 유아 교육에서 통합적 접근의 정당성을 논의하였다. 이어서, Harlan(2000)이 제시하는 유아 과학교육에 근거하여 통합적 유아 과학교육과정의 구체적인 접근 방식을 논의하였다. 우선, 과학개념을 중심으로 수학, 음악, 문학, 손유희나 역할놀이 등의 놀이, 미술활동, 창의성 활동, 요리활동, 현장답사 등을 구성한다. 또한 과학적 놀이나 학습상황에서 기존 개념과 새로운 개념들을 유지ㆍ관련지음으로써 과학적 지식을 통합할 수 있도록 의도하는 것이다. 이 연구는 유아 과학교육에 관심 있는 예비교사와 현장의 유아교사들이 유아 과학교육을 수행함에 있어 구체적인 지침이 될 것이다.

고교생의 논리적사고력과 과학탐구 기능 사이의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (Relationships between Piagetian Congnitive Modes and Integrated Science Process Skills for High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the interrelationships on integrated science process skills and Piagetian cognitive modes for high school students according to the different cognitive reasoning levels. About 509 high school students were randomly selected for the samples of this study. They were identified as concrete, transitional and formal operational stage with the scores of GALT(Group Assessment of Logical Thinking) developed by Roadrangka, Yeaney and Padilla(1982), and TIPS II(Test of Integrated Process Skills) developed by Burns, Wise and Okey(1983). The result of this study were showed that about 11.8% of the samples were in the concrete operational stage and about 24.4% of the samples were in the transitional stage, while about 63.8% of them were in the formal operational stage. It was also found that the achivement scores of the science process skills increase in accordance with the cognitive reasoning levels. The value of the correlation coefficient between science process skills and cognitive reasoning abilities was 0.49, which was significant at the 0.05 level. This finding seems to support previous research that the student's cognitive reasoning abilities appeared to have influenced student's scores of the science process skills No differences to the logical reasoning ability between male and female students according to each cognitive level were found except formal operational stage.

A Fully Integrated 5-GHz CMOS Power Amplifier for IEEE 802.11a WLAN Applications

  • A fully integrated 5-GHz CMOS power amplifier for IEEE 802.11a WLAN applications is implemented using $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. An on-chip transmission-line transformer is used for output matching network and voltage combining. Input balun, inter-stage matching components, output transmission line transformer and RF chokes are fully integrated in the designed amplifier so that no external components are required. The power amplifier occupies a total area of $1.7mm{\times}1.2mm$. At a 3.3-V supply voltage, the amplifier exhibits a 22.6-dBm output 1-dB compression point, 23.8-dBm saturated output power, 25-dB power gain. The measured power added efficiency (PAE) is 20.1 % at max. peak, 18.8% at P1dB. When 54 Mbps/64 QAM OFDM signal is applied, the PA delivers 12dBm of average power at the EVM of -25dB.
