철도전용 통합무선망 개발 (Development of Integrated Wireless Network for Railway)

  • 본 연구는 철도전용 통합무선망 개발을 위한 LTE 통신 방식의 적용타당성 연구를 목적으로 하며, 호남선 일로역에서 대불역 사이 약 12km 구간에 걸쳐 철도전용 통합무선망을 구축하여 실증 분석하였다. 한국의 철도 안전 무선통신은 노선 별로 방식이 상이하여 각 철도 종사자간 협업이 어려워 다양한 문제점이 발생하고 있으며 무선통신 시스템간 통화 단절 및 상용 무선망과의 주파수 간섭 및 혼신에 따른 사고 발생 위험이 상존하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 대두되고 있는 철도전용 통합무선망에 4세대 통신방식인 LTE를 적용하는 것이 타당한지를 살펴보았다. 열차 선로라는 기지국 설치 위치의 제약이 있었음에도 모든 시험 항목에서 기존 유럽의 GSM-R의 성능 기준을 상회하는 결과를 보였다.

The Roles and Human Resources of Service Design

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the roles and human resources of service design. Background: The definition of service design is not clear yet, also did not define in this study. I studied the components of service design which are roles and human resources. That is helpful to understand the definition of service design and to clarify the works in service design. Method: I compare the service design with user experience design. I empirically define the roles and human resources of service design. Results: The roles of service design are service strategy, research, service concept design, service specification, service architecture design, integrated communication design, integrated system design, integrated operation design, service evaluation, launch, operation, and knowledge management. Conclusion: We defined who works and what works in service design. Application: The results of this study help the clarification of service design.

  • Research on ISA(Integrated Starter/Alternator) receives wide attention as system voltage is increased to 42V Based on requirement of starter and alternator for the conventional vehicle, system requirement and specification are determined. Also to control proposed system, suitable control methods are proposed. Main control issues with ISA are whether torque assist is required and if so how much torque is needed. In this paper, vehicle performance with various control methods and capacity are simulated and simulation results are analyzed. Vehicle performance is analyzed with vehicle simulator. For the simulation, suitable ISA model is also developed.

Lossy Source Compression of Non-Uniform Binary Source via Reinforced Belief Propagation over GQ-LDGM Codes

  • In this letter, we consider the lossy coding of a non-uniform binary source based on GF(q)-quantized low-density generator matrix (LDGM) codes with check degree $d_c$=2. By quantizing the GF(q) LDGM codeword, a non-uniform binary codeword can be obtained, which is suitable for direct quantization of the non-uniform binary source. Encoding is performed by reinforced belief propagation, a variant of belief propagation. Simulation results show that the performance of our method is quite close to the theoretic rate-distortion bounds. For example, when the GF(16)-LDGM code with a rate of 0.4 and block-length of 1,500 is used to compress the non-uniform binary source with probability of 1 being 0.23, the distortion is 0.091, which is very close to the optimal theoretical value of 0.074.

  • The application of photovoltaics into building as integrated building components has been paid more attention worldwide. Photovoltaics or solar electric modules are solid state devices, directly converting solar radiation into electricity; the process does not require fuel and any moving parts, and produce no pollutants. And the prefab building method is very effective because the pre- manufactured building components is simply assembled to making up buildings in the construction fields especially the sandwich panel. So, the purpose of this research is to integrated prefab building materials depending on the cooling type of PV modules. It is concluded that the prediction of BIPV system's performance should be based on the more accurate PV module temperature. From the basis of these results on the correlation of temperature and irradiation were obtained.

Parameterized Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis Modeling of Two-level Microbolometer

  • This paper presents a parameterized simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) model of a two-level microbolometer based on negative-temperature-coefficient thin films, such as vanadium oxide or amorphous silicon. The proposed modeling begins from the electric-thermal analogy and is realized on the SPICE modeling environment. The model consists of parametric components whose parameters are material properties and physical dimensions, and can be used for the fast design study, as well as for the co-design with the readout integrated circuit. The developed model was verified by comparing the obtained results with those from finite element method simulations for three design cases. The thermal conductance and the thermal capacity, key performance parameters of a microbolometer, showed the average difference of only 4.77% and 8.65%, respectively.

  • A flexible assembly system (FAS) is a production system that assembles various parts with many constraints and manufacturing flexibilities. This paper presents a new method for efficiently solving the integrated process planning and scheduling in FAS. The two problems of FAS process planning and scheduling are tightly related with each other. However, in almost all the existing researches on FAS, the two problems have been considered separately. In this research, an endosymbiotic evolutionary algorithm is adopted as methodology in order to solve the two problems simultaneously. This paper shows how to apply an endosymbiotic evolutionary algorithm to solving the integrated problem. Some evolutionary schemes are used in the algorithm to promote population diversity and search efficiency. The experimental results are reported.

Displacements of the helical stator tooth for an electromechanical integrated toroidal drive

  • The stator tooth is a key component of the electromechanical integrated toroidal drive system. The stator tooth is spiral in shape and the calculation of its displacements is difficult. In this paper, using the coordinate transformation method, the displacements of the stator tooth in the local coordinate system are expressed as the function of the variable in the drive coordinate system. Using the minimum potential energy principle, the equations of the displacements of the stator tooth under the loads are deduced. The displacement distributions within the stator tooth are investigated and the changes of the displacement distributions along with the main parameters are analyzed. This research can offer the basis for the strength and stiffness design of the drive system.

  • 강원도 평창 방림 지구 깎기 비탈면에 드러난 단면은 고생대 조선누층군 석회암층을 기반으로 다양한 지질구조가 발견된다. 비탈면에서 관찰되는 횡와습곡(recumbent fold)은 우리나라에서도 발견된바 거의 없는 매우 희귀한 지질구조로 강원도 지역 고생대 시대의 지질 구조의 형성과정을 규명함에 중요한 학술적 가치를 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로비탈면에서 관찰되는 지질구조의 지질학적 가치에 대하여 논의하며, 위험비탈면의 관리방안을 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 본 횡와습곡의 발달 상태는 지질학적 희소성, 특이성 등에서 보존가치를 지니고 있으며 지질과학 교육적 중요한 가치를 지니는 지질유산으로써의 보호 및 낙석위험 저감대책을 통한 보존 관리방안이 마련되어야 하며 나아가 지질공원(geopark)으로 보전되고 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
