  • Residents in an area where both trains and cars pass through are exposed to not only road traffic noise but also railway noise. Nevertheless, the degree of annoyance the caused to the residents is being under evaluated as the noises have been evaluated separately. Therefore, this study aimed at evaluating the integrated noise of road traffic and railway, and proving the accuracy of the evaluation result.

  • Aircraft noise model such as FAA Integrated Noise Model(INM) has recently been used for forecasting the impact of noise in a residential area near an airport and quantifying the effect of various options for noise mitigation. The noise modeling should be reliable and precise in order to ensure the quality of the results provided. In this study, the validation of the noise levels simulated by the INM against measurement data recorded continuously at multiple monitoring sites was discussed. As a result of validation, the quality of the input data used as a fixed point profiles for the INM was enhanced. The noise contour maps were designed as a way to evaluate the aircraft noise of the vicinity of the airfield. The results of this study indicate that the validation of aircraft noise model by the measurement data would be required for the accurate assessment of the aircraft noise levels.

  • 여러 종류의 항공기가 운용되고 있는 훈련 비행장에서 항공기의 소음을 실제 측정하여 분석하는 것은 어렵다. 이러한 실제적인 한계를 극복하고 적절한 소음 대책을 수립하기 위해서 FAA에서 사용하는 INM 7.0(Integrated Noise Model Version 7.0)을 사용하여 소음 지도를 작성하였다. 터보프롭 항공기 (C90GT)가 이륙 경로, 착륙 경로 및 장주경로를 비행하면서 발생하는 소음을 측정하였고 법적으로 소음의 피해가 되는 70 WECPNL 이상인 지역을 조사하였다. 터보프롭 항공기가 운용되고 있는 모든 경로에서 70 WECPNL을 초과하는 지역은 발견되지 않았다.

  • This paper presents a new approach integrated Case-Based Reasoning with Self- Organization Map(SOM) in diagnosis systems. The causes of faults are obtained by case-base trained from SOM. When the vibration problem of rotating machinery occurs, this provides an exact diagnosis method that shows the fault cause of vibration problem. In order to verify the performance of algorithm, we applied it to diagnose the fault cause of the electric motor.

  • The present study investigates the effects of the flight paths of military aircraft on noise map and its WECPNL(Weighted Equivalent Continuous Perceived Noise Level) distribution. Aircraft noise modeling and simulation have been performed on a Korean military air base by means of INM(Integrated Noise Model) with the input data of airfield location, aircraft specifications, flight paths and aircraft's operation schedules. The result of noise modelling has been verified in comparison with the result of measured noise level. The flight path of military aircraft, as the key parameter of the present study, was modeled by combining takeoff, overfly, approach and touch-and-go modes. The present INM simulations have been conducted for various flight path cases with different takeoff, approach modes and overfly modes. The simulation results showed that the change of flight path can remarkably affect the noise influence region and the WECPNL distribution around the airfield.

  • The present study investigates the effect of the flight path of military aircraft on noise map and its WECPNL distribution. Aircraft noise modeling and simulation are made on a Korean military airport by INM(Integrated Noise Model) 6.2 version, and the flight path of military aircraft is modeled by combining takeoff, overfly, approach and touch-and-go modes. The present INM simulations are conducted for two cases with different overfly modes and show that the change of overfly mode remarkably affects the noise influence region and the WECPNL distribution around the aircraft.
