To find the medical insurance utilization of workers when suffering from low back pain, an analysis was made toward the data of medical insurance benefits matched with the general characteristics of 10,183 workers, who were registered continuously from 1993 to 1995 at a medical insurance cooperation for industrial workers. The results were as follows; 1. The period prevalence of the medical insurance utilization for low back pain for 3 years from 1993 to 1995 was calculated as 17.1% for male workers and 19.4% for female workers. Most common cause of utilization was other dorsopathies including the herniation of lumbar discs. 2. The utilization rate increased significantly as the present age and the age joining the company got older(p<0.001). As the duration of employment got longer, the utilization rate of the male showed the tendency to increase and that of the female increased significantly(p<0.05). Among male workers employed at cement and concrete manufacturing companies showed higher utilization rate and among female laborers showed significantly higher utilization rate than clerical workers(p<0.01). 3. Annual utilization rate for low back pain didn't show any difference, but the portion of other dorsopathies among cause of utilization showed the tendency to increase from 1993 to 1995. 4. The mean number of claims for outpatient medical care for low back pain differed significantly by age, working duration, type of industries, income level(p<0.05), and the mean of total visiting days for care of low back pain differed significantly by working duration. In conclusion, considering the fact that the medical insurance utilization for low back pain increased annually and other dorsopathies including the herniation of dorsopathies were increasing, an effective preventive or management program for low back pain toward worker employed at industries were required.

Insurer's duty of declaration is based on reciprocity of principle of the highest good, and recently it is widely recognized in the British and American insurance circles. The conception of fiduciary relationship is no longer equity or the legal theory which is only confined to the nations with Anglo-American laws. Therefore, recognizing the fiduciary relationship as the essence of insurance contract, which is more closely related to public interest than any other fields. will serve an efficient measure to seek fair and reasonable relationship with contractor, and provide legal foundation which permits contractor to bring an action for damage against violation of insurer's duty of declaration. In the future, only when the fiduciary relationship is approved as the essence of insurance contract, the business performance and quality of insurance industry is expected to increase. Therefore, to keep well this fiduciary relationship, or increase the fiduciary relationship persistency rates seems to be the bottom line in the insurance industry. In this paper, we developed a fiduciary relationship maintenance ratio based on comparison by case, which is represented with usually maintained contract months to paid months, based on each contract of the basis point. In this paper we have developed a new business model seeking the maximum profit with low cost and high efficiency, management policy of putting its priority on its substantiality, as an improvement measure to break away from the vicious circle of high cost and low efficiency, and management policy of putting its priority on its external growth(expansion of market share).
From the beginning of 1990s , also in the shipping industry, especially liner shipping industry competition has been more intensive and difference of the service quality among shipping companies has been learned . On the other hand, a shipping company has some limitations to do its international mission for itself just by broadening service area. For this reason, the necessity for the global strategi alliance among the shipping companies, which is orginally aimed at sharing of facilities and organixation, has been developed. Through strategic alliance, liner shipping companies do not need to input the additional capitals to increase the material assets such as vessel capacity and spread the risk by the enlargement of the market. Also, they can secure the competitive edge through efficient utilizaton of assets. The purpose of strategic alliance of Hanjin Shipping Ltd., can be summarized as follows ; broadening of service area, cost reduction through vessel sharing, realization of rationalized shipping service by terminal and equipment or facilities sharing. Liner strategic alliances are agreement among liner companies to pol their equipment , andterminals for joint operations and services in which each alliance partner continues to serve its market using jointly operated or used inland feeders,inland terminals, port terminals, and mainline fleets of ship as well as joint pools of containers and equipment. Strategic alliances are generally more formal agreements than consortia and impose longer term and far reaching obligation on their members. It also acts as one in developing and advancing the strategic aims of the alliance members. The most important objective for liner strategic alliances is cost reduction and improvement in capital asset utilization. Main aims of strategic alliance drawn in this paper, can be enumerated follows : 1. improvements in service frequency and quality : 2. improvements in vessel and equipment utilization and thereby reductions in fixed and variable cost ; 3. improvements in market shares and high value cargo booking ; 4. reductions in intermodal storage and port terminal throughput costs ; 5. improvements in negotiating powers with ports and feeder transport providers ; 6. reduction in financial and other fixed costs such as insurance; 7. coordination and integration of MIS and EDI systems and service for greater efficiency and market penetration ; and, 8. improvements in logistic chain management and economic of scale by equipment depot, terminal, and vessel sharing.
South Korea's state health insurer, the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), is in the process of a compensation suit against tobacco industry. The tobacco companies have habitually endeavored to ensure favorable outcomes in litigation by misusing scientific evidence or recruiting scientists to support its interests. This study analyzed strategies that tobacco companies have used during the NHIS litigation, which has been receiving world-wide attention. To understand the litigation strategies of tobacco companies, the present study reviewed the existing literature and carried out content analysis of petitions, preparatory documents, and supporting evidence submitted to the court by the NHIS and the tobacco companies during the suit. Tobacco companies misrepresented the World Health Organization (WHO) report's argument and misused scientific evidence, and removed the word "deadly" from the title of the citation. Tobacco companies submitted the research results of scientists who had worked as a consultant for the tobacco industry as evidence. Such litigation strategies employed by the tobacco companies internationally were applied similarly in Korean lawsuits. Results of tobacco litigation have a huge influence on tobacco control policies. For desirable outcomes of the suits, healthcare professionals need to pay a great deal of attention to the enormous volume of written opinions and supporting evidence that tobacco companies submit. They also need to face the fact that the companies engage in recruitment of scientists. Healthcare professionals should refuse to partner with tobacco industry, as recommended by Article 5.3 of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate office location dynamic in Seoul and to analyze comparatively the office activities of emerging office centers. Since mid 1980s, the expansion of office employment and spatial differentiation of the office-type jobs have changed the employment and spatial structure of Seoul. The major employment centers are CBD, Kangnam district and Youido. Among these, CBD and Kangnam have developed as the two leading centers of Seoul. Youido, the typical office-oriented center, shares CBD functions especially specializing security business. Selective decentralization of offices made qualitative differences among the centers. In spite of vigorous office decentralization, CBD has kept the principal offices of finance and insurance, travel agencies, advertising agencies, management consulting firms, major public institutions and headquarters of upper 100 companies in Korea. But the offices of producer services such as law, architects, engineering and computer consulting and real estates and headquarters of upper 5000 companies in Korea have been decentralized dominantly to Kangnam.

Objectives: The Ministry of Employment and Labor's enforcement programs, such as workplace monitoring inspection, are one of the major public efforts to protect worker's health. Therefore, a more effective inspection method is required for workplace monitoring, which is helpful for controlling health hazards in the workplace. Methods: For this study, we investigated the related safety and health laws, regulations, and inspection guidelines from the USA, Japan, and Korea. We also analyzed the provisions of industrial safety and health acts, which are related to enhancing the reliability of workplace monitoring. We applied the process of opinion convergence through an experts meeting for our research. Results: We proposed an efficient inspection scheme for workplace monitoring that includes how to select companies(mainly randomized inspections by using a workplace measurement database and workers' compensation insurance database), how to proceed with the inspection process(mainly unannounced visits), and who should carry out this project. Conclusions: We conclude that our proposal for the inspection of workplace monitoring could be a very effective tool for reducing the numbers of companies that do not undertake workplace monitoring and could produce reliable monitoring results.
Internal Control(IC) comprises the plan of organization and all of the coordinating methods and measures adopted in a business to safeguard its assets, check the accuracy and reliability of its accounting data, promote operational efficiency and encourage adherence to the prescribed managerial policies. If an organization's IC is not adequate, Accounting Information System (AIS) will be vulnerable to accomplish the organizations successes. Therefore, an effective and efficient IC is essential to its successes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of EDP IC on the perceived usefulness of AIS. Do the general controls indirectively affect to the usefulness of AIS through th application controls? To solve these problems, a research model and a set of hypotheses were established and empirically tested. 60 financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, security companies) agreed to participate in the study. Data were gathered through structured interviews with 60 information systems managers and 537 users of accounting information of each company. Survey forms were designed and collected from financial institutions in Seoul. Information systems' managers of financial institutions responded to questionnaire(1) which consists of a series of 70 questions related to practice and perceived importance. Questionnaire (2) was received from 537 users, who responded to series of 17 questions related to the perceived usefulness. The results of analysis are summarized below. Effects of general controls are more direct on AIS's usefulness than those of application controls. Whereas, indirect effects of application controls are geater than those of general controls. Therefore, the greater the effects of application controls on general controls, the higher the perceived usefulness of AIS. In conclusion, this study supports that the perceived usefulness of AIS is affected by IC which are composed of general controls and application controls. The results of this study has significant implication to financial institution as computer fraud potential increases. Because of global competitions, financial institutions should restructure to IC and AIS in order to take advantage of the technological progress in Information System.
Since the implementation of International Standard Banking Practice(ISBP) in 2003, ICC Publication No. 645 has become an invaluable help to the documentary credit practitioners including banks, companies, transportation and insurance companies etc. However, with the approval of UCP 600 in October 2006, it has become necessary to provide an updated version of the ISBP. It should be emphasized that this ISBP is an updated version as opposed to a revision of ICC Publication No. 645. The new ISBP has been implemented concurrently with UCP 600 since July 1st, 2007. The first necessity was to replace UCP 500 article numbers with those of UCP 600. Second, where it was felt proper, the contents of some paragraphs that appear in ICC Publication No. 645 and that have been covered in UCP 600 have been removed from the updated version of the ISBP. This explains the reduction in the number of paragraphs from 200 to 185. The international standard banking practices documented in the new ISBP are consistent with UCP 600. This ISBP does not amend UCP 600. It explains how the practices articulated in UCP 600 are applied by documentary practitioners. The new ISBP and the UCP 600 should be read in their entirety and not in isolation. It should be kept in mind that any terms in a documentary credit which modifies or excludes the applicability of a provision of UCP 600 may also have an impact on the international standard banking practices. Consequently, when parties concerned must take into account any terms in a documentary credit that expressly modifies or excludes a rule contained in UCP 600.

Developed countries are operating an in-depth database in motor vehicle crashes nationwide. They do not rely solely on the police investigation reports that are responsible for motor vehicle crashes in each country but are developing into a useful database by expanding the categories of data through more indicators addition. In Korea, after implementing comprehensive measures to reduce traffic accident deaths in 2013, the medical centers participated in establishing the actual accident investigation system, which was called as the Korean In-Depth Accident Study (hereinafter KIDAS). This KIDAS database included more in-depth indicators as the types of accidents, types of vehicles, the injury severity, adequacy of safety devices, seating position of passengers. Although there are difficulties in establishing an actual accident investigation system including data collection due to various restrictions, if the system can cooperate with each other such as medical centers, insurance companies, police, fire and rescue services, towing companies, and car repair shops in the future, It would be expected to contribute to the development of safer vehicle, treatment system and traffic safety policy that lower the injury severity of occupant in the event of a motor vehicle crashes.

After COVID-19, the number of people with sleep disorders around the world is increasing. In particular, in the flow of the 4th industrial revolution, the differentiation of types and characteristics of the sleep industry is accelerating. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of each type of sleep-related industry were reclassified from an industrial point of view, and based on this, an attempt was made to review the classification system that can help companies develop sleep products and improve related national systems. Based on the 10th standard industry classification, we compared input cost, value, and usability and analyzed common characteristics, treatments, and preventive effects based on this. A comprehensive taxonomy using matrix analysis was reviewed. As a result, in terms of cost (A), the most common sleeping products are general mattresses and general bedding. It is an IOT device (auxiliary device), and the value aspect (B, B/D) included sleep cafe, bedding rental and management service, and sleep consulting. In terms of utility (A/B), a total of 6 product groups including sleep aids (health functional foods) belong to this category, and in terms of treatment (A/C), a total of 3 product groups including sleep clinics (medical services) belong to this category. As for the product group (A/D) with both properties, it was found that non-insurance sleep treatment medical devices, sleep-related over-the-counter drugs, and some sleep monitoring applications belong to this category. Ultimately, it was found that the sleep industry classification enables the most active product development and composition according to the relative relationship between cost and utility, and treatment and utility. appeared to be necessary.
