We meet with the fact that a majority of electric machinery have been insulated to the state of solids & liquids or solids & gases, that is, with compound dielectrics. And also we can find voids caused by undesirbble structure, long-used material and so on. When it is discharged in a void or in the parts of gases of insulating material, the insulation of the machinery is gradually and finally destroyed through the effect of ozone, nitrogen-oxide, electronic pulses and so on. So we maybe conculded that it is necessary and important to detected void pulse and void corona in order to prevent sudden break down of electric machinery.

Interfacial effect in polymetric composites have been studied extensively. This report deals mainly with the effects of interfacial space charge and interface structure. A model for the dynamic process of interfacial space charge accumulation is proposed. The new model might interpret some interface phenomena which is difficult to be explained in terms of traditional Maxwell-Wagner theory. An interface structure is also presented, by which the importance of surface treatment of glass Fiber for improving the properties of FRP could be well understood.

Characteristics of the local vibration modes of an aluminium extruded panel are investigated by the finite element analysis and modal testing. Practical methods to increase the damping of the local resonances are proposed. Effects by filling urethan foam in the core cavity and by coating tar on the panel surface are compared by experiments. Modified panel structures to shift the local resonance frequency band are proposed. The results of the study are utilized to predict the severe local resonances in the aluminium extruded panels and prevent their undesirable effect on the sound insulation.

Several methodologies were devised to reasonably predict the temperature boundary conditions of inner face of the concrete outer tank so as to set up heat transfer analysis model of the full containment above-ground LNG storage tank. In this model, outer tank is solely taken into account and the beneficial effect of suspended deck and insulation layers on the temperature distribution of outer tank is separately formulated according to the proposed procedures. More effective design of the insulations can be achieved when the proposed simple schemes are used in the preliminary stage.

우리나라는 시설재배 난방용 에너지로 경유를 90%이상 사용하고 있는데 최근 급격한 유가의 상승으로 생산비중 난방비가 차지하는 비중이 20∼25%에서 30∼40%로 높아져 시설원예 농가의 경제성이 크게 악화되고 있다. 이를 극복하고 안정적인 생산을 계속하기 위하여 보온력 향상이나 자연에너지 이용 기술에 관한 지속적인 기술개발과 보급이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. (중략)

Insulators of transmission line have been frequently damaged by lightning flashover. Arcing horns have been installed on string sets to protect insulators from the flashover. But reclosing number can be increased by the decrease of insulation strength and they are worrying it. Then this paper analyzes the installation effects of the arcing horn.

Honeycomb structures have advantages in weight reduction with stiffness increment. As far as noise is concerned, however a light aluminum structure, instead of a steel frame, should have an equivalent mass density in order to maintain sound insulation performance. In this paper, an evaluation of a material effect on noise has been examined.

Samsung Ltd. has developed a new-type cab mount for specific use on construct ion machinery subjected to strong vibration and multi-directional impact force. These all make it possible to achieve an excellent damping effect over a wide frequency range against large amplitude vibration as well as excellent insulation against small-amplitude vibration. This new mount make lower vibration and noise levels while increasing riding comfort at the same time. Characteristics of Cab mount were optimized through computer simulation, advanced bench testing, ODS testing, and a real equipment offroad testing.

Generally, vehicle is insulated from the earth by rubber tire which is intrinsically the insulation material. The electrical ground of vehicle was floated in the sense of electric potential over the electric power sources. First of all, the floated electrical ground of vehicle should be equipotentially connected with the (-) line of electrical equipment. Bimodal tram has the different kinds of electric system. They must be kept insulated to each other electrically. When there is some unbalanced event or connection between them, it will invoke some errors or breakdown to electrical devices including sensors and actuators. This paper has investigated the floating ground effect of bimodal tram built with composite body and shown the effect according to the unbalanced ground of vehicle and the connection between different electric systems.

The thermal effect of a transparent insulated opake wall with solar energy was investigated theoretically. The heat gain through transparent insulated opake wall was studied for relative simple conditions. The stationary heat transport effect was studied for layer which is built on the opake wall. This study shows that a relative low solar radiation intensity causes a great heat reduction through the transparent insulated opake wall. Because the transparent insulation layer is mostly transparent to solar radiation, it is opaque to heat radiation.
