Preparation and Properties of Insulating Rubber Gloves for Safety Protection (안전보호용 절연 고무장갑의 제조 및 특성)

  • Insulating rubber gloves with antibacterial and withstand voltage properties were prepared by blending the natural rubber latex(NRL), waterborne polyurethane(PU) and 4N-chitosan. Tensile strength of rubber glove increased with increasing amount of PU, and elongation decreased. The property of withstand voltage of rubber gloves improved with increasing leaching time, and the rubber gloves showed insulating capability of 10000V at leaching time of 3 hours. Little bacteria existed after 4N-chitosan was added to rubber gloves.

Thermal Insulation Property due to Internal Air-layer Content of Warm Multi Layer Materials by using Numerical Analysis (수치해석을 이용한 다겹보온자재의 내부공기층 함유에 따른 보온 특성)

  • This study investigates thermal insulation properties of multi layer materials depending on thickness of air layers. Numerical analysis on the heat flow of different insulating materials was conducted to identify whether their temperature distributions demonstrate the reduced rate of heat transfer conclusively or not. Analytical model is divided into two categories. One is to distinguish temperature distribution of the air-layer materials from the non-air layer ones. The other is to compare the efficacy between eight-layered insulating materials with no air-layer contained and three-layered insulating materials which include an air-layer definitely. In the latter case, the identical thickness is assigned to each material. The effect of thermal insulation by including an air-layer is verified in the first analytical model. The result of the second model shows that the insulation of the eight-layered materials is coterminous at the three-layered ones with an air-layer and the thermal insulation of the two materials is imperceptible. The benefits of cost and energy saving are anticipated if air-layers are efficiently incorporated in multi layer insulating materials in a greenhouse.

Establishment of Design Standard and Analysis of Insulation Property for Underground Space in Architecture (건축물의 지하공간을 위한 단열재의 특성 분석 및 설계 기준 수립)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze an insulation property and to establish a design standard for the underground space in architecture. Insulation materials for this study are 12 kinds of Insulation which qualified KS standards(3 classes of EPS type 1, 3 classes of EPS type 2(Neopor), 3 classes of XPS and 3 classes of PU Boards). For insulation materials of underground space, insulating and water tightening property are desired. So conductivity for insulating and water absorption for water tightening are measured in this study. Temperature, insulation is exposed to in the underground space, is different from temperature above the ground. Conductivity is measured in a temperature of $17^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $23^{\circ}C$ and $26^{\circ}C$. In KS standards, water absorption are measure after 24 hours, but insulation is exposed to water for a long time in the underground. So after 110 days, water absorption are measured. As time goes by, increasing of water absorption means decreasing of water tightening and insulating. So after water absorption had measured for 110 days, conductivity has measured again. As a result, XPS is selected as optimized insulation for underground. And Conductivity of XPS insulation with water should be added by 20%.

  • In the study the volume resistivity Characteristics of epoxy resin using nanocomposites, nano-comosites are made from insulating material epoxy resin using for power transformer equipment and molding several devices as changing amount of addition of diameter 12 [nm] $SiO_2$, we measured volume resistivity of nano-composites by High Resistance Meter(4329A). As the result of measurement, we have seen the epoxy resin using 1.6 [wt%] nanocomposites was the highest measured at the volume resistivity, and using 0.4 [wt%] nanocomposites was highest stabilized than others according to variable temperature properties.

Space Charge Phenomena in Polyimide Films and Effects of Absorbed Water (폴리이미드 박막의 공간전하현상 및 수분의 영향)

  • Polyimide is widely used as a high-temperature insulating material. Space charge distributions in polyimide (PI) films strongly depend upon electric field, temperature, water content and so on. We observed space charge distributions in PI films with various water contents. When a dc field was applied to as-received PI films or water-treated PI films, positive and negative homo space charges were observed near the respective electrodes at 333 K. In dried PI films, the homo space charges were much reduced, and positive and negative hetero space charges in the bulk were clearly observed. The space charge amounts in water-treated PI films were smaller than in as-received ones, while the current density in water-treated PI film was larger than that in as-received one by two or more orders of magnitude. These suggest not only that the charge injection from the electrode is enhanced by absorbed water but also that absorbed water makes carriers mobile. The decay of space charge was also faster in water-treated PI than in as-received or dried one. This also supports the enhancement of apparent mobilities of carriers in PI by absorbed water.

  • In this paper, we investigated the surface properties of polymer insulators to improve electrical insulation performance. First, after washing the polymer insulator in various ways, its contact angle was increased, thereby improving the hydrophobic properties and electrical insulation properties. In addition, TiO2 thin films, which have been used as a photocatalytic material and have been applied to the polymer insulator surface of to enhance the surface and electrical insulating properties. For the sputtering method, the contact angle after coating the TiO2 thin film increased with increasing RF power, but it was lower compared to that before coating, indicating that the hydrophobic properties of the surface were slightly deteriorated. Consequently, the electrical properties of the polymer-insulating material were maintained or improved after the TiO2 thin-film coating.

  • YBCO coated conductor can change the stabilization layer for purpose and it leads advantages in Improvement of tape's critical properties and Application. Such properties rise possibility of using YBCO coated conductor for Superconductor Fault Current Limiter, therefore, we investigate changing properties under over current condition and limiting characteristics. In this study, YBCO coated conductor's current limiting characteristic stainless steel stabilization layer under condition of changing conductor's insulating layer. Consequently, the resistance followed insulating layer so we know that limiting characteristics.

  • "Always-on" small ventilators are likely to experience thermal decomposition of insulating material due to thermal, electrical, mechanical and environmental influences, and lose insulating properties by the process of oxidation and physiochemical reaction. This increases the risk of electrical fire because of layer short, short circuit, overload and Plastics are usually used to make ventilator and ventilator enclosures since they make less noise and are cheaper. Although more preferred than iron, plastic, a combustible material, has a higher risk of fire. In this study, several experiments were carried out to find out how RCD(Residual Current Protective Device) and Thermal fuses, which are electric motor protection devices, work and what needs to be done to reduce the risk of fire.

  • Light-emitting diode(LEDs), diode arrays, and phosphor display panels are finding increased use in a variety of commercial applications. Present and anticipated application of these devices include solid state indicator(e.g., digital clocks, meter readout) and display systems(e.g., instrument panels, TV display), the application being determined by the light -output capability and size availability(cost) of the particular device. In this work, Phosphor based on ZnS:Cu are used. Relation by luminance with the thickness of insulating layer and phosphor layer are discussed. Increased thickness of insulating layer are stable on voltage to 300V. By considering thickness and voltage, optimal structure and thickness are investigated. Also in order to maximize even surface emission, various sieving process are introduced. Very similar phosphor particle size is selected. Luminance by various wave intensity is also investigated. 150cd/m$^2$ luminance are investigated in stable voltage and frequency.

  • The ($Ba_{0.85}Ca_{0.15}$)$TiO_3$-Zndielectrics was made by ZnO mol ratio from 0.1 to 0.4. The characteristics of structural was analyzed by SEM and XRD and the insulating properties was examined by dielectric constant and resistivity. The grain size were 1.3[$\mu\textrm{m}$] and those shape ware a rectangular. The relativity density were over 90[%] in all specimen. It was found that the best insulating characteristics were obtained for 0.3 mol ratio.
