An Implementation of Web-based Instructional Design System for University Instructors (대학교수자용 웹기반 수업설계 시스템)

  • The purpose of this investigation was to help university professors for making their systematic design of instruction easily and scientifically. To increase of learner's studying ability, the systemic instructional design is imperative. But most of university professors could not get proper experiences to know develop instructional design system, specially to develop web-based system. This new system made it possible to select the proper instructional methods and the media type suitable for the corresponding data. And also every professor who is involved to know this system, can put informations for the target learners, learning contents and learning objectives, and present the proper media types and the many different conditions in the process of the each instructional design process. Finally, the results of the learner's study will be effective and professors showed their positive opinions for the using of the system.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss plan for the development of accreditation system for instructional materials and equipment in kindergarten. Instructional materials in early childhood education are enough importance and effectiveness is high. In addition, the commercialization of materials, a number of common trends in the development of instructional materials, and these materials and ensure a qualitative judgment of the teaching and learning are required. So that can be used easily in the field to develop the instructional materials of excellent quality, maintenance, and management of a professional certification system is a demand. In this paper, the current situation in the instructional materials authentication system to examine the books have such a system, to identify the problems, to suggest preferred direction for teaching and leaning materials certification system.

A Development of a Web-based Instruction Prototype System Considering Individual Differences (개인차를 고려한 웹 기반 코스웨어 개발)

  • There have been many WBI systems developed, but most of them do not fully consider instructional methods and learners' individual differences. If these are considered, a system will make a greater contribution to educational efficiency. We have developed a WBI prototype system that supports various instructional methods with varying instructional content. It presents instructional content that considers learners' individual differences. In this system, we provide interactive content based on multi-medium, interactive content based on text, and multi-medium presentation-stye content as one way teaching and text material appropriate to the learners' reference. Among the instructional methods, this system recommends a content appropriate to the individual learner. We provide individually proper feedback which considers the learner' misunderstanding in test modules. We tested our system in actual classes, evaluating and proofing our system for maximum educational effect.

The Effects of Instructional Multi-Media in Home Economics Education Perceived by Teachers. (멀티미디어 활용효과에 대한 가정과 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of instructional multi-media in Home Economics Education perceived by teachers. The data for this research were attained from 139 middle & high school teachers of Home Economics. The data were analyzed by frequency of distribution, mean, stand deviation. t-test and analysis of variance, scheffe test with SPSSWin 7.5 program. The results of this study are as follows: The effects of instructional multi-media were composed of four dimensions in this study; need, frequency of use, pros and cons. 1. From these four dimensions, the need has the highest and the frequency of use has the lowest score. 2. The effects of instructional multi-media are significantly related to personal & environmental characteristics. 1)Need of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to age, experience of computer education and possession of a computer at home. Low and high age groups are higher in the need of the instructional multi-media effects score than middle group age and the more experience of computer education and possession of a computer at home are higher in that score. 2) Frequency of use is significantly different according to LAN system in school. The higher score of frequency of use is in a LAN system’s school. 3) Pros of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to the level of education, experience of computer education and the type of school. Undergraduate high school teachers and the lower o experience of computer education are higher in the pros of the instructional multi-media effects score. 4) Cons of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to the level of education. Graduate teachers are higher in the cons of the instructional multi-media effects score.

A Conceptual Analysis on Instructional Coaching, Instructional Supervision, and Instructional Consulting (수업코칭, 수업장학, 수업컨설팅에 대한 개념적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify conceptually the difference of instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting by analyzing their own characteristics. The practices for instructional improvement are common in that fundamental objectives are improvement of instruction and development of teacher's professionalism in instruction. However, each area changed according to the social flow and the demands of the educational field and created a unique activity system. So, in order to get rid of this mixed use of these terms, it is meaningful to distinguish the concepts, attributes, and areas of each activity. The specific study questions were 1) what is the origin of coaching, supervision, and consulting? 2) how are instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting defined in existing research in korea? 3) how can we conceptually distinguish instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting? Based on reviewing various existing studies, First, this study investigated the conceptual origins and lexicons of coaching, supervision, and consulting, respectively, in addition reviewd the prior studies conducted in Korea with regard to instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting, and summarized how each concept is defined according to the researcher. Second, this study compared each two concept with another one. Finally, the existing definitions of instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting were analyzed to find out the inherent and common attributes of each concept. In conclusion, this study suggest that the concept of instructional consulting needs to be redefined to better reflect the characteristics of activities, and that studies that rethink the relationship between instructional coaching and instructional supervision are needed.

A Study on Design of the Curation System of Instructional Materials for Reusing and Sharing (재사용과 공유를 위한 수업 자료 큐레이션 시스템 기능에 대한 연구)

  • This study intends to design a curation system to support elementary and secondary schools for reusing and sharing instructional materials efficiently. It is proved through interviewing teachers at the chalkface that they utilize instructional materials, and there are some differences between elementary schools and secondary schools about the media for creating the instructional materials, and the purpose of using them. The functional requirements of curation system for reusing and sharing instructional materials are derived from questionnaires. The investigation of the existing curation systems was conducted to identify the strategies for policy, design, standard, and tools for effective operation of the digital curation system. The tasks and the functions of the curation system designed by reflecting the results of this study are as following. The tasks related to individual workspace include 'authentication', 'system configuration', 'registration' of created materials, 'material keeping' for the individual, and 'reusing (editing)'. The tasks related to sharing workspace contain 'receiving' for sharing, 'archiving' for accessing, 'peer evaluation', 'accessing' through the retrieval, and 'bulletin board'.

Distance Learning for Interior Design: Strategies and Instructional Model (실내디자인 교육.실무에 있어서의 가상 교육 운영 전략 및 모형 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develope instructional strategies and assessment model for distance learning in interior design education in Korea. Literature from various sources were examined to provide guidelines for instructional and technical strategies, communication system, and administrative process. Strategies and assessment model for transition to distance learning from goal setting to program evaluation were introduced. The results of this study indicated that distance learning in interior design education is optimized when applied in studio critique, portfolio production, and professional practice and with other traditional programs depending on the characteristics of the instructional materials. It is suggested for further studies that various distance learning programs based on instructional theories to be conducted and evaluated in different areas of interior design education for their maximum application as instructional tool.

  • This study explored the prospects and tasks of accreditation system for instructional materials and equipment in early childhood education. Various aspects of accreditation system, such as necessities of evaluation system, thoughts regarding evaluation system, necessities of categorizing standards, and necessities of constructing accreditation system were discussed based on previous research. Also other aspects of accreditation system which were not considered in the previous research, such as thoughts related with instructional materials and equipment being evaluated and considerations regarding evaluation indexes were explored.

  • This paper describes the instructional flexible manufacturing system(FMS) laboratory facility at Virginia Polytechnic Institute(VPI) which is directed at problems and issues in the design, implementation and control of computer integrated manufacturing systems. It begins with a configuration and an operational description of FMS laboratory facilities. Next, relevant curricula in manufacturing systems design and control, which can use the FMS laboratory for instructional purpose, are introduced, A computer simulation can be used as an excellent tool for analysis prior to implementation of FMS as well as an on-going improvement tool. A brief survey of simulation languages is lastly included.

  • The purpose of this study was to extract an u-PBL support system core value and design strategy based upon field experience learning. To accomplish this the study, first of all, analyzed the core values, design strategy which was selected after needs analysis and literature review of theories and cases regarding the PBL, e-PBL, blended-PBL, Field experience learning based on ubiquitous environment, and learning model based on ubiquitous technology. This study identified the three core values as; systemic support for instructional activity, just in time support for instructional activity and support for interaction facilitation. As further research areas, it might be useful to develop u-PBL instructional support system based upon the model designed from this study. Also, research concerning the verification of the model based upon implementation of the program case might be necessary.
