study investigated the effect of an instruction using generating analogy on scientific conceptual understanding, science learning motivation, attitude toward science instruction, and perception of instruction. Two classes of seventh graders at a middle school in Seoul were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group, and they were taught about the motion of molecules for 5 class hours. The instruction for treatment group was developed based on the Glynns Teaching-With-Analogy model. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the scores of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group in the conception test. However, there was no significant difference between two groups in the science learning motivation test and the test on the attitude toward science instruction. Survey results on the students perception of instruction showed that generating analogy was hard for the greater part of students, and finding appropriate analog was the most difficult work. Educational implications are discussed.
The smart education recognized new educational paradigm is going to be introduced in earnest in the field from 2015. We develop the instructional design model for smart education to be able to provide a guide to design the instruction which has a speciality compared to current instruction. Furthermore, we did an expert assessment to recognize the validation and applicability of developed instructional design model and then apply this model to the field. As a result, we drew a positive conclusion for this instructional design model, which provides a base of systemic instructional design in smart education environment and focuses on expanding the ability of students living on 21st century. We expect that this study will be useful for teachers in the field who perform the smart education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the small-group instruction of mathematics in elementary schools. For this, a sample of 742 teachers of elementary schools completed the survey. As a result, about 27.8% of the teachers reported using small group instruction while they worked with one group or they assigned to other groups worked alone. Only 2% of the teachers reported using small group in which students were encouraged to participated cooperatively. This study discusses the five issues about small group instruction in elementary school. The five issues were investigated in this survey. First, major teaching method in mathematics classroom and using of small group instruction were described. Second, frequency and period of small-group instruction were reported. Third, grouping method in small-group instruction was described. And Fourth, effect grouping practices of small-group instruction were described. Fifth, the model of small group instruction and assessment in small-group instruction were reported.

The first thing in designing application-specific instruction set processor is having instruction set closely matching hardware characteristics. This instruction set design problem can be more complicated when cobined with implementation method selection problem of each instruction. Our processor model supports two kinds of instructions-primitive or special instructions. Primitive instructions are implemented using common multifunctional hardware such as ALU. Special instructions require a set of dedicated hardware, which actually functions as a coprocessor to the main processor. In this case, special instructions and primitive instructions can be executed independently. In this paper, we present novel algorithm for genrating special instructions for given application. Parallelism between special instructions and primitive instructions is also considered during the performance estimation stage of generated special instructions.
Ninety 6th graders were randomly assigned to an experimental or a control group in this 5 week study of the effects of constructivist instruction on writing performance. After the writing pre-test, the experimental group was treated with constructivist instruction while the control group was treated with a tradition procedure based on Joyce and Weil's(1992) basic exercise model Instruction consisted of ten 40-minute sessions. The effectiveness of the constructivist instruction was tested by post-and retention-tests. Two raters scored the children's writing by the analytical scale of Jin-Suk Won(1994). Results were analyzed by t-test. The writing performance and the retention scores of the experimental group were higher than that of the control group. The results of the sub-criteria scores showed significant effects on children's understanding of contents and constructive performance.
A new way of teaching on the Internet can be called Web Based Instruction (WBI). WBI goes far above and beyond teaching in the school. It will have an impact on overall educational activity that will dramatically change many existing educational processes and persuade most teachers to change their conventional teaching methods. The main purposes of this research were to make a comparative study of academic achievement between expository lecture and web-based instruction, and to identify the difference in academic achievement of learning tasks in pre- and post- experiments of WBI. The conclusions of this study were as follows. First. there are no differences in academic achievement between expository lecture and teacher- directed web based instruction. Second, there are no differences in academic achievement between expository lecture and teacher-assisted web based instruction. Third, there is difference in academic achievement between teacher-assisted web based instruction and teacher-directed web based instruction. Fourth, there are no differences in academic achievement of reading tasks in pre- or post- experiments of teacher-directed web based instruction. On the basis of the research results and discussion, we finally present a Web-Application-Model (WAM) to encourage the usage of Internet as a useful teaching channel.

This study examined the effect of the Collaborative Problem-Solving for Character Competence (CoProC) instruction model within the context of secondary science education. The participants of this study were comprised of 143 Korean students, each of whom was in the 10th grade spread across four class cohorts. These cohorts were further divided into an experimental group (comprised of 73 students from two different classes), which received the CoProC program; and a control group (70 students from two other classes), which did not. In order to assess the effect of CoProC instruction model upon participants' character competence, we designed and administered a Character Competence Test for participants. The CoProC instruction model consists of 3 fundamental steps: Preparation, Problem-solving, and Evaluation. Key character competence targeted in the CoProC program include caring, collaboration, communication, responsibility, respect, honesty, self-regulation, and the development of positive self-image. Thus, these same qualities were targeted and analyzed in the Character Competence Test, which was administered before and after the CoProC activities. The results show a significant increase in the experimental group's competency for caring, collaboration, responsibility, respect, and self-regulation when compared to the control group. Based on these results, we have found that CoProC instruction model to be an effective teaching intervention toward cultivating character competence in a secondary science education setting.

In 21th century moving rapidly up to the knowledge and information society, creative problem-solving abilities are preferentially required to engineers. Though there may be various approaches to develop such abilities, PBL instruction method can be an effective alternative to develop such abilities. Recognizing this, one 'JPBL' model was constructed and introduced in this study. The model was developed independently based general existing PBL models and applied to university students to analyze its effectiveness in the aspect of class satisfaction and organizational commitment. Based on results, the meaning and limitation of the model development were discussed.
The purpose of this study to analysis the response pattern of the constructive instruction model that reflect constructivism learning theory for change on 6 science concepts. Specially, this study analyzes the constructive instruction model's effect among 3, 4, 5 years old and explain to the 6 scientific concepts that change from false response to correct response. The subjects are 34 public institution children who located in the Jinju city and was need to explain the scientific concepts. For the response pattern analysis of the this study is using scientific conceptual task on the function of ear and blood, the reason of thunder, typhoon, evaporation and ship's flotage. Conclusions that appear through result of constructivism activities effect on change of six scientific concepts and the constructive instruction's effect is more 5 year old than 3, 4 years old age.
