This study is on the aesthetic characteristics of Balenciaga design succeeded to by Nicolas Ghesquiere, and tried to understand his pursuing brand's new design concept and aesthetics. The three key characteristics of Balenciaga designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere are Retrospecitvness, Eclecticism, Deconstruciton. First, Balenciaga looks retrospective sense through reinterpreting tradition. Nicolas created a new sense of expression by mixing his proper instinct with Balenciaga's original properties, historical components of the past western dress, and various design elements of assistants who used to work in Balenciaga. Second, Balenciaga expresses uncertain meaning by compromising between contrast and synthesis among the past and the future, the males and the females, simple and ornament, or different styles. Third, Nicolas's experimental and outsider-oriented view of Deconstruction through reorienting of thought is considered a try for a new formative concept as a designer who is not limited by general rules.

Softwares in railway system are being used in the area of railway control system, directly associated to safety. Because the instinct characteristic of Software is uncertainty, Software development without safety insurance is very hazardous situation. In order to derive safety certification process in the railway system, certification and approval processes in the nuclear, aviation, and military area are studied. Software quality should be improved by two aspects : one is product aspect, another is process aspect. GS(Good Software) and ES(Excellent Software) certification can be exemplified in a product aspect approach. In those process certification, CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) or SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination : ISO/IEC15504) is being used as models for assessing process maturity of organization. Following the studies, safety management procedure in the railway system is suggested.

The analysis has an objective of presenting a standard of human image making by producing results of characteristics and individual human image of each color appropriate for the personality through enneagram that is a personality analysis program. The study was done on 200 adults living in the whole country from Oct. 4 to Oct. 18th, 2004. In the survey, 11 colors were selected. The followings show the 9 personalities. 1.Instinct type preferred Blue(blue+navy) color. 2. Feeling type preferred Red(red+orange) color. 3. Thinking type preferred Yellow(yellow+green) color. The study results tend to match the expected preference of color for each personality. In the Human image management, the individual distinction of 3 personality classes need to be analyzed in order to develop individual and created personality by preferred color. It is very important to examine the image for color each personality pursuits through the analysis. Also, there need to more participants of the study so that results can be analyzed more inclusively and there should more in-depth study.

Some shape memory alloys like NiTi show noticeable high damping property in pseudoelastic range. Due to its instinct characteristics, a NiTi alloy is commonly used for passive damping applications, in which the energy may be dissipated by the conversion from mechanical to thermal energy. Previous researches found the NiTi wires own higher damping property than the bars; therefore the wire form is adopted in this study. A loss factor is introduced for measuring the damping property of the NiTi wires. The experimental observation shows the mechanical behaviors of NiTi wires are dependent on temperature, strain rate and strain amplitude. Moreover, it is found the first several decades of loading-unloading cycles can obviously influence the property of NiTi wires under the same working conditions.

컴퓨터 게임은 보이드들의 군집 행동 모델링을 위하여 플로킹이라는 지능적인 기법을 사용하고 있다. 플로킹은 약간의 컴퓨터 자원만을 이용하여 조류나 물고기와 같은 예측할 수 없는 형태의 군집 행동 패턴을 자연스럽게 모델링 할 수 있다. 단 논문에서 우리는 사실적인 수중 생태계 군집 행동 모델링을 위하여, 포식자 및 먹이로 구성되는 생태계를 구현하였다. 또한 퍼지 논리를 생태계 요소들의 본능적인 욕망을 구현하기 위하여 적용하였다 그 결과 본 모델은 생태계의 파괴를 극복하고, 자연스럽게 생태계 행동을 모델링 할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

A brushless DC motor has the high quality of torque output and silence, has been more widely used in industrial area. As the driver and controller of BLDC motor have been more complicated and precise, simulation method has been much used in motor design. And the output characteristics of BLDC motor is determined by the waveform of BACK-KMF in instinct. But because the conventional model of BLDC motor is obtained by approximation of real nonlinear waveform to ideal trapezoidal waveform, the error is occurred in simulation result. Thus in this paper, for the correction of this error in simulation, the model of real nonlinear waveform considered is proposed, and the simulation result is obtained in case of three-phase, four-poles Y-connected, surface mounted permanent magnet BLDC motor.

To achieve a cooperative work between human and robot, it is thought helpful to estimate the states of human mind, which originates his behavior. In this paper, human mind was considered to modify instinctive desires according to the conditions of external world surrounding the instinct. A simple human mind model was designed so that it finds a balance between instinctive desire and restriction from the external world. The external world is divided into three sub-worlds like subject´s whole body, its partner and concerned periphery. Proposed mind model has three-layers construction. Each of the layer tries to find a balance between desire and restriction from external world. In this study, New Orientalism represened in modern fashion is defined a new idea that harmonized with factors of eclecticism, traditionalism, naturalism, and futurism and these characteristics are examined. First, as these features, it is the phenomenon of eclecticism presented beyond regions and sex. Second, it is the phenomenon of traditionalism newly expressed traditional images in a modern sense by using and changing of a oriental dress image of the of the past. Third, it is the phenomenon of naturalism revealed an unalloyed recurrent instinct about nature and a desire for yearning. Fourth, it is the phenomenon of futurism which is come out the factor of oriental images whithin a minimal and cyber environment. This paper might be the foundation for Korean Orientalism which could be not a just pastiche but a cultural commodity and s main fashion current with a cultural identity especially in the year of 2000, "New Arts Year", declared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The subject of 'Emotional Design' is appeared recently as one of the important issues in design field. 'Emotion', which has been underestimated since Kant and should be reevaluated from now on, is one of the basic two elements with reason which constitutes human nature. The purpose of this study is to research emotional design method appeared in the works of Steven Holl who is considered one of the influencing architects because of his unique methodology in developing the emotional design. The results of this study are as follows; 1) Emotional aspects were implied in his concepts by the way of emphasis on phenomenology in dealing with question of perception. 2) Emotional aspects were interwoven in his form and space as related to his concept. 3) Emotional aspects were shown in his way of developing his ideas with water coloring, in deriving his concept from other genre(especially from literature) and in the articulation of details. As a result, his unique way of implying emotional aspects which is coming from in-depth research of human nature as well as his own instinct were all interwoven in concept, form, and space together as a total way of thinking.

Architectural color has been preserved the multiple characteristics reflected the change of social value criteria and technical development. Especially, the change of technical paradigm has led to variation from simple and fixed color system, as through the considerable change of architect's subject thinking, favored and symbolic system. Now, architectural color has also been revealed as the timely, moving, behavioral and existent color by anthropolatric thinking system. Therefore, it could be transformed expressive system reflected from abstract-pictorial characteristics, from the fixed to non-determining system, constructive to non-constructive system, context to expressive system, reasonal to emotional system, respectively. So, the range of architectural color has been extended as a element in reinforced the planned concept of the architect beyond the past decorated and symbolic color scope. As thereinafter, future's architectural color could be expected to concrete to the public-friendly relation system, developed widely to the system for reinforcing the concept not introduction of meaningless, fragmental and instinct color through the relational adaptation with design concept.
