  • Condition Monitoring System (CMS) has been used to detect unexpected faults of wind turbine caused by the abrupt change of circumstances or the aging of its mechanical part. In fact, it is a very hard work to do regular inspection for its maintenance because wind turbine is located on the mountaintop or sea. The purpose of this study is to find out distribution patterns of vibration signals measured from the main mechanical parts of wind turbine according to its operation condition. To this end, acceleration signals of main bearing, gearbox, generator, wind speed, rotational speed, etc were measured through the long period more than 2 years and trend analyses on each signal were conducted as a function of the rotational speed. In addition, correlation analysis among the signals was done to grasp the relation between mechanical parts. As a result, the vibrations were dependent on the rotational speed of main shaft and whether power was generated or not, and their distributions at a specific rotational speed could be approximated to Weibull distribution. It was also investigated that the vibration at main bearing was correlated with vibration at gearbox each other, whereas vibration at generator should be dealt with individually because of generating mechanism. These results can be used for improving performance of CMS that early detects the mechanical abnormality of wind turbine.

Automatic Current Selection(ACS) to use for the purpose of reducing the dose when Low Extremity Computed Tomography Angiography examining patients. Materials and methods : Were analyzed from July 2011 to July 2012 MDCT examination of Dose Length Product(DLP) LECTA 116 Case. It was defined as previous inspection methods(Old protocol). CT workstation is set to 100 mAs and 150 mAs protocol based on the patient's weight 70kg examined by LECTA. We defined as 'New protocol' that applies to ACS. The data collection period are 76 cases from October 2012 to January 2013 Results : 1. Average Total DLP of 'Old protocol' is 3602.943 $mGy^*cm$. 2. Average Total DLP of 'New protocol' is 1762.977 $mGy^*cm$. 3. Due to the 'New Protocol' use of Total DLP was reduced by approximately 51 %. Phase-specific dose reduction is as follows. Pre(33.62 %), Artery(64.63 %), Delay(49.0 %) 4. Using One way ANOVA Analysis of fluctuations obtained DLP is as follows. 'Old protocol', 'New protocol' a value of P < 0.001, P = 0.882 values were obtained. Conclusions : Dose reduction of 51 % is a useful study that proves. The results obtained using the ACS, the effects of a dose reduction of 51 % was obtained. Therefore, it has been proven to be a useful way. Statistics using SPSS version came out of the 'Old protocol' P-value P < 0.0001. This result means that the DLP a large difference values. On the other hand, The results of the 'New protocol' was P = 0.882. These results means to that small and regularly was fluctuations of the dose. The use of ACS, you can get a reduction of the dose and will able to get the effect of reducing the dose errors.

  • Colonic atresia (CA) is the rare cause of intestinal obstruction, and diagnosis of CA is difficult. But only few research has been performed, so little information has been available. The purposes of this study was to analyze the clinical findings of CA so that help physicians make decision properly. Children with CA who were treated at the division of pediatric surgery at Asan Medical Center in the period from January 1989 to December 2011 were evaluated retrospectively. A total of 6 children were treated with CA. These accounted for 2.7% of all gastrointestinal atresias managed in Asan Medical Center. Only one child was premature and low birth weight, the others were fullterm neonates and showed normal birth weight. Vomiting and abdominal distension were common symptoms and simple X-ray and barium study were used for diagnose of CA. But only 66.7% of the babies were diagnosed as CA pre-operatively. And 2 children out of 6 underwent re-operation due to missed CA at the time of the first operation. In aspect of types of atresia, the type IIIa were two, type IV were two, type I was one case, and one child showed rectal stenosis due to rectal web. Various operations were done according to individual findings and associated diseases. The 50% (n=3) of children underwent the primary anastomosis and the others (n=3) underwent colostomy first and staged operation later for missed CA or associated disease. All of them were recovered any significant complications. Therefore, the prognosis of CA is satisfactory if diagnosis and surgical management could be made properly. But because of the low incidence of CA, delay of diagnosis and treatment may occur. To prevent delay of diagnosis, we suggest prompt evaluation of doubtful infant and careful inspection of distal patency of bowel including whole colon and rectum when operating patients with intestinal atresia at any level.

  • This study aims to examine the effects of the main eight items amended in the 2013 child care center accreditation system and to provide suggestions. The participants in the study were 200 child care center teachers and staff; 150 professionals consisting of public officials in charge of child care, members for the accreditation committee, and inspectors at the site; and 144 parents. They participated in an on-line questionnaire survey conducted during the end of February, 2014. The survey questions regarding the eight changed items were the same to all the three participating groups, and three more questions were asked to child care center teachers and staff. The collected data were analyzed with frequencies and percentages to present general recognition level. For a group comparison, analysis of variance was first performed among 3 professional groups, all of which has the same size. When there was not a statistically significant difference among the three groups, the second analysis of variance was done among three groups of professionals including the three groups, teachers and staff, and parents. The results showed that there were differences in recognition among the groups regarding each changed item in the 2013 child care center accreditation system, but overall, the groups evaluated the main amendments positively and the changes were considered appropriate and necessary. However, it was found that in-depth reviews are needed of procedure unification to check the basics to require legal compliance; management of unaccredited centers such as valid period reduction and no accreditation, or limit for re-accreditation application; and the burdens of child care centers about surprise visits and notice of inspection dates in advance.

  • Despite of the various merits of soil pavement, it has not been widely adapted because portland cement was conventionally used as soil stabilizer to improve the mechanical properties such strength parameters. Recently, natural soil stabilizer(NSS) were developed and virtually adopted to several case of soil pavement construction under control of heavy metal pollution compared to cement-used cases. However, the application of natural soil stabilizer is not settled yet, and empirical design have been widely adopted. In this study, therefore, the strength parameter of soil-NSS mixture was estimated by some triaxial compression tests, CU-test. From the tests, the relationship between curing period and strength parameter such as internal friction and effective cohesion was examined. As a result, effective cohesion of dredged clay and granite soil increased as curing time is increased. However, internal friction is almost same result in all soil type used in this study.

  • Heavy resposibility is placed on the veterinarian and the livestock and aquatic animal producers to observe the period for withdrawal of a drug prior to marketing to assure that illegal concentrations of drug residues in meat, milk, egg, fish and other animal foods do not occur. This is essential from a public health standpoint because levels of residues in excess of those legalIy permitted in edible tissues may produce injurious effects when consumed over a long time span. With greater use of animal drugs of chemicals required in production of food crops, livestock and aquatic animals, the possibility of human being continuously exposed to drug and chemical residues for a life time is unequivocally evident. Korean authorities concerned Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery and Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, have recenly made their own regulations to control chemical residues in beef, pork and chicken independently. Consequently, inspection for the chemical residues also have been or will be carried out by the two authorities concerned without any cooperations. It is undoubtfulI to have a single regulation and national residue program for control residual chemicals in animal foods and that the tolerance levels should be established in milk, egg, and freshwater fish. Besides, we have no complete standard methods to analyze the residual chemicals and the methods have not been evaluated their efficiency, precise, accuracy and limit of detection. In this paper, the analytical methods and national residue programs in foreign countries are introduced and discussed and the status of animal food safety in this country is also reviewed.

  • The average concentration of Pb in 53 samples of canned orange juice currently sold in Korean market was 0.225 mg/kg, and that of Sn, 40.7 mg/kg. There was no appreciable difference in Pb concentration according to elapsed time after manufacturing, whereas Sn concentration increased 0.66 mg/kg per month. During the storage at room temperature or in refrigerator after opening, the Pb concentration increased slowly, reaching 1.7 to 1.8 times of original concentration, whereas Sn concentration increased by 20% per day, resulting in 3 times of original concentration after 7 days. There were no serious changes in Pb and Sn concentration in storage at room temperature or refrigerator for 3 days, when juice samples were opened and transferred to glass container. It is needed that detailed inspection by undertaken to monitor the contents of heavy metals in canned orange juice, since 18% of samples within recommended distribution period exceeded the legal standard for Pb, and recommended that more attention be paid in handling canned orange juice after opening, in order to avoid the hazard from heavy metals.

  • The findings of a 2017 safety inspection of the Three-story Pagoda from the Goseonsa Temple site in Gyeongju suggested the possibility that the stone for the second story of the pagoda may have been rotated after the pagoda was disassembled for removal from its original site in 1975. The materials from the pagoda were investigated using photographs and other relevant data from both the Japanese colonial period and from around 1975. The analysis found that the materials of the pagoda were not changed after analleged reconstruction in 1943, but that during the process of relocating the pagoda in 1975 the body of the second story was indeed rotated counter clockwise by 90 degrees and one of the four stone elements making up the first-story roof was exchanged with a part from the second-story roof. In order to discover whether the materials had been incorrectly placed, each part of the pagoda was precisely measured and the elements of the roofs were virtually reconstructed using 3D scanning data. The investigation did not find any singularities with in the components of each roof; the four part sof the first-story roof were 75 to 76 centimeters thick and those for the second-story roof were 78 to 79 centimeters thick. The connections between each part of the roofs also appeared natural. This seems to indicate that there was indeed an undocumented repair of the pagoda at some point between its creation and 1943 and an error that took place during this repair was corrected in 1975. In addition, the study suggested a possibility that the body of the second story was rotated counter clockwised to a change in the locations of parts of the two roofs.

  • The purpose and main points of the ROK-US Navy were analyzed from various angles using the big data technology Word Cloud for efficient sea trials. First, a comparison of words extracted through keyword cleansing in the ROK-US Navy sea trial showed that the ROK Navy conducted a single equipment test, and the US Navy conducted an integrated test run focusing on the system. Second, an analysis of the ROK-US Navy sea trials showed that approximately 66.6% were analyzed as similar items, of which more than two items were 112 items Approximately 44% of the 252 items of the ROK Navy sea trials overlapped, and that 89 items (35% of the total) could be reduced when integrated into the US Navy sea trials. A ship is a complex system in which multiple equipment operates simultaneously. The focus on checking the functions and performance of individual equipment, such as the ROK Navy's sea trials, will increase the sea trial period because of the excessive number of sea trial targets. In addition, the budget required will inevitably increase due to an increase in schedule and evaluation costs. In the future, further research will be needed to achieve more efficient and accurate sea trials through integrated system evaluations, such as the U.S. Navy sea trials.
