  • Mean shifts may be found in tool wear in machining, drawing, stamping and moulding operations, which make the process quality level deteriorate over time. In such situations, it is necessary to reset or readjust the manufacturing process at regular time basis or by inspection to prevent defective items produced. Although the deterioration rate may be assumed to be linear in a production cycle, there are many cases where the rate varies after resetting due to the variation of tool characteristics or by using the resharpened tools. In such cases, the deterioration rate should not be assumed to be a deterministic constant but a random variable. This paper is to find an optimal resetting period and quality level for such production processes.

  • Previously, many researchers assessed nearshore wave energy in two ways. The first is a simulation with respect to the offshore wave time series to validate the wave buoy data and the wave model results, and the other is to simulate the representative waves of typical seasonal wave conditions. The former requires enormous computational time and effort. The latter yields inspection on the patterns for the spatial and temporal distribution of nearshore wave energy but tends to underestimates the amount of wave energy in the nearshore region owing to the correlation between the significant wave height and wave period. $\ddot{O}$zger et al. (2004) derived the stochastic wave energy formulation by introducing a correction factor explicitly in terms of the covariance of the wave energy and significant wave height. In this study, a correction factor was applied for the assessment of nearshore wave energy obtained by numerical simulation of wave transformation with respect to representative waves.

  • The structural material with the highest possibility of new materials that will be used in the future construction field is fiber reinforced polymer. The current studies on FRP members by using such excellent material characteristics mostly focused on stability, composite problem, and durability of FRP members. The initially constructed FRP members secure excellent stability and durability compared to reinforced concrete and steel materials, but measures for defections during the periodical inspection, methods for detecting breakages, and maintenance and reinforcement are not insufficient. Accordingly, this study proposed a measurement system using the FRP sensor to evaluate the safety of the FRP modular box member, and applied the phased array ultrasonic technique to detect the defects and damage likely to occur during the performance period.

  • Anorectal malformations comprise a spectrum of disease and the majority of patients have one or more abnormalities that affect other systems. In evaluating a newborn with anorectal malformation, the decision regarding the need for a colostomy and detection and management of any life threatening associated anomalies are thetwo most important considerations. Perineal inspection provides the clue to the surgical approach in about 80-90 % of male and 90 % of female newborn baby. The remaining patients who do not show any clinical evidence need radiologic evaluation to decide whether a colostomy should be performed. In most cases the decision to make a colostomy should not be made until the baby is 20 to 24 hours old and evaluation to rule out the presence of associated anomalies completed. A divided colostomy at the junction of the descending and sigmoid colon is recommended for anorectal malformations.

Photometric Variability of Symbiotic Stars at All Time Scales - Magellanic Cloud Systems

  • Symbiotic stars are long-orbital-period interacting binaries characterized by extended emission over the whole electromagnetic range and by complex photometric and spectroscopic variability. In this contribution, I will present some high-cadence, long-term optical light curves of confirmed and candidate symbiotic stars in the Magellanic Clouds. By careful visual inspection and combined time series analysis techniques, we investigate for the first time in a systematic way the photometric properties of these astrophysical objects, trying in particular to distinguish the evolutionary status of the cool component, to provide its first-order pulsation ephemeris and to link all this information with the physical parameters of the binary system as a whole. Finally, I will discuss a new, promising photometric technique, potentially able to discover Symbiotic Stars in the Local Group of Galaxies without the recourse to costly spectroscopic follow-up.

  • In this study statistical analysis was performed for NDI(Non-Destructive Inspection) results of F100 engine front seal support assembly. NDI results can be statistically considered as Quantal Response Data. It is found that the suitable probability distribution to the failure data is normal distribution through MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimation) of the Quantal Response Data. Moreover, Cumulative Distribution Function, failure rate function and B-Life are calculated on the supposed distribution.

  • Purpose: This study aims at omitting the initial testing of the ASRP by determining the initial test year. Methods: This study is to determine of the initial test year for one-shot system using validity assessment of drugs. Results: Procedures for determining the initial test duration of the one shot system and examples of omitting the tests are presented. Conclusion: Using this method, the time and labor required for testing can be saved by omitting the initial testing of ASRP.

  • Article 347 of criminal law provides the act of deceiving another, thereby taking property or obtaining pecuniary advantage from another. On the other hand, the concepts of fraud and abuse are confused upon interpretation since the definition in National Healthcare Insurance Law is unclear, and it affects closely to the administrative measures such as surcharge levy by the period of inspection, therefore, the disputes continue in the forms of formal objection, administrative ruling and administrative litigation. This study aims to look over the legal problems on application of criminal fraud toward the abuse of 'Paid Medical Expenses(Article 57, Sections 1 and 4 of the National Health Insurance Act)'. The main issues are concept of abuse(Article 57, Sections 1 and 4 of the National Health Insurance Act), the problems of Directions of Health-Welfare Ministry on aspect of 'Nullum crimen sine lege' Principles, the proper sentenc-ing guidelines of fraud.

「傷寒卒病論集」에 대한 이해 (Study about Comprehension of Shanghanzubinglun)

  • In order to understand correctly about Shanhanlun, the intension of the author from the preface must be definitely understood. Compared the preface of Shanghanzubinlun with the prefaces of other commentaries, figuring out the contents. The preface of Shanghanlun describes the time period and the production background of Shanghanlun. The publish of Shanhanlun is related to outbreak of epidemic, which is related to the war, rebellions, and the secure of trade route from west to east. The episode of Pianque in the preface is the example of the diagnosis in general, and it has connection with the four ways of diagnosis (inspection, listening & smelling, inquiring and palpation) in the last part of the preface. Shanghanzubinglun is influenced by Taoism, which is the ideology behind Huangdineijing and Shennongbencaojing. Zhang Zhongjing had studied deeply about fangshu.

Comparative measurements of Criteria Pollutants Using DOAS and Conventional In-situ Monitoring Technique at Sung Nam city of Korea

  • To test the compatibility of differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) and conventional in-situ monitoring technique we conducted a comparative analysis of the two systems using hourly measurement data sets of three criteria pollutants including No$_{2}$O$_{3}$, and SO$_{2}$ collected in months between April and June of 2001 at Sung Man city, Kyung Gi Province, Korea. The results of our comparative analysis were useful to evaluate the various aspects of DOAS performance, of particular the level of agreement with the counterpart method through computation of percent differences and correlation analysis. Interpretation of the mixing ratio data for those chemical species was however confined in terms of explaining the differences affected by the changes in environmental conditions because measurements of important meteorological parameters were limited during most of the study period. Nevertheless, the overall results of this study strongly demonstrated that the mixing ratio of major pollutants measured by the two different systems maintain strong compatibility from various respects.
