INMARSAT-C형 위성통신단말기의 수신단 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of the Receiver Section for INMARSAT-C)

  • 본 논문에서는 INMARSAT-C형 위성통신단발기의 수신단의 회로설계, 제작 및 특성측정을 수행하였다. INA-03184를 이용한 고이득증폭단은 양단 정합된 단일 증폭기 형태로 제작하였으며, 바이어스 안정화 저항을 사용하여 회로의 전압강하 및 전력손실을 가능한 줄이고 온도 안정성을 고려하여 Active 바이어스회로를 사용하였으며, 스퓨리어스를 감쇄시키기 위해서 저잡음증폭기와 고이득증폭단 사이에 대역통과 필터를 사용하였다 측정 결과, 사용 주파수 대역내에서 60 dB 이상의 이득, 44.83 dBc의 스퓨리어스 특성 및 1.8:1 이하의 입ㆍ출력 정재파비를 나타냄으로써 설계시 목표로 했던 사양을 만족시켰다.

  • The conversion of solar energy into acoustic waves is experimentally studied. Measurements were made on the Sound Pressure Level (SPL), frequency, onset time and the temperature gradient across the stack. A pyrex resonance tube is used with a honey-comb structure ceramic stack along with Ni-Cr and Cu wires. An AL1 acoustical analyzer was used to measure the SPL and frequency of acoustic waves whereas K-type thermocouples were hired to estimate temperature gradients. For a resonance tube of 100 mm, no acoustic waves were generated with a power input of 25W. By increasing its length to 200 mm, however, maximum SPLs of 96.4 dB, 106.3 dB and 112.8 dB were detected for the tubes of 10mm,20mm and 30mm in IDs and their respective stack positions of 70mm, 60mm and 50mm from the closed end.

  • We derive the system design parameters to implement the receiving system for the PCS mobile station to satisfy the J-sTD-018 which is the PCS mobile station(MS) minimum performance. Also we analyze the system performance and intermodulation spurious due to the values of a device cause the system performance degradation, is proposed. The simulation shows the receiver's maximum system noise figure to satisfy the receiver selectivity is approximately 11 dB. While the MS noise figure is 10dB with system margin 1 dB, the minimum selectivity is -71 dB at 1.25MHz frequency offset from the carrier frequency. And the input 3rd order intercept point of the MS class I and the MS class II~V is -9.5 dBm and -14dBm respectively. When the interference power level at the receiver is small, the receiver has better performance as we increase the gain of the LNA. However, when the interference level at the receiver is large, the receiver performance is heavily affected by the spurious as we increase the gain of the LNA. Thus, we proved the effectiveness of the LNA On/Off switching technique as to reduce the effect of the spurious.

  • 직류자계로 가변동조되는 YIG여파기의 설계및 측정을 논하였다. 직각으로 굽힌 박판전송선과 2개의 YIG구를 RF 원형회전자계로 분리되는 곳에 위치시켜 차단및 투과특성을 얻었다. 차단특성은 -25db 였으며 통과특성은 이보다 약간 낮은 22db였다. FMR에 관한 이론치와 실측치는 잘 일치하였으며 방향성결합기로 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

Development of Main Steam Line Break Mass and Energy Release Analysis with RETRAN-3D Code

  • An estimation methodology of the mass and energy (M/E) release due to the main steam line break (MSLB) has been developed with the RETRAN-3D code. In the case of equipment qualification (EQ), the over-estimated temperature would exceed the design limits of some cables or valves. In order to have a more flexible EQ profiles from the MSLB M/E release, the methodology with the best-estimated code was used. The major conditions affecting the MSLB M/E were found to be the initial SG level, heat transfer between primary and secondary sides, power level, operable protection system, main or auxiliary feedwater availability, and break conditions. The RETRAN-3D models were developed for the Kori unit 1 (KRN-1) which is typical two loop Westinghouse (WH) designed plant. Particularly, a detailed model of the steam generators was developed to estimate a more realistic two-phase heat transfer effect of the steam flow. After the modeling, the methodology has been developed through the sensitivity analyses. The M/E release data generated from the analyses have been used as the input to the inside containment pressure and temperature (P/T) analysis. According to the results at the point of view containment P/T, the Kori unit 1 can have more margin of 5∼15 ㎪ in pressure and 8∼15$^{\circ}C$ in temperature.

  • This paper presents a study of low frequencies volume velocity vibration control of a smart panel in order to reduce sound transmission. A distributed piezoelectric quadratically shaped polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer film is used as a uniform force actuator and an array of $4\;{\times}\;4$ accelerometer is used as a volume velocity sensor for the implementation of a single-input single-output control system. The theoretical and experimental study of sensor-.actuator frequency response function shows that this sensor-actuator arrangement provides a required strictly positive real frequency response function below about 900 Hz. Direct velocity feedback could therefore be implemented with a limited gain which gives reductions of about 15 dB in vibration level and about 8 dB in acoustic power level at the (1,1) mode of the smart panel. It has been also shown that the shaping error of PVDF actuator could limit the stability and performance of the control system.

ANALYSIS OF UNCERTAINTY QUANTIFICATION METHOD BY COMPARING MONTE-CARLO METHOD AND WILKS' FORMULA

  • An analysis of the uncertainty quantification related to LBLOCA using the Monte-Carlo calculation has been performed and compared with the tolerance level determined by the Wilks' formula. The uncertainty range and distribution of each input parameter associated with the LOCA phenomena were determined based on previous PIRT results and documentation during the BEMUSE project. Calulations were conducted on 3,500 cases within a 2-week CPU time on a 14-PC cluster system. The Monte-Carlo exercise shows that the 95% upper limit PCT value can be obtained well, with a 95% confidence level using the Wilks' formula, although we have to endure a 5% risk of PCT under-prediction. The results also show that the statistical fluctuation of the limit value using Wilks' first-order is as large as the uncertainty value itself. It is therefore desirable to increase the order of the Wilks' formula to be higher than the second-order to estimate the reliable safety margin of the design features. It is also shown that, with its ever increasing computational capability, the Monte-Carlo method is accessible for a nuclear power plant safety analysis within a realistic time frame.

자율주행 경로 추종 성능 개선을 위한 차량 조향 시스템 특성 분석 (Vehicle Steering System Analysis for Enhanced Path Tracking of Autonomous Vehicles)

  • This paper presents steering system requirements to ensure the stabilized lateral control of autonomous driving vehicles. The two main objectives of a lateral controller in autonomous vehicles are maintenance of vehicle stability and tracking of the desired path. Even if the desired steering angle is immediately determined by the upper level controller, the overall controller performance is greatly influenced by the specification of steering system actuators. Since one of the major inescapable traits that affects controller performance is the time delay of the steering actuator, our work is mainly focused on finding adequate parameters of high level control algorithm to compensate these response characteristics and guarantee vehicle stability. Actual vehicle steering angle response was obtained with Electric Power Steering (EPS) actuator test subject to various longitudinal velocity. Steering input and output response analysis was performed via MATLAB system identification toolbox. The use of system identification is advantageous since the transfer function of the system is conveniently obtained compared with methods that require actual mathematical modeling of the system. Simulation results of full vehicle model suggest that the obtained tuning parameter yields reduced oscillation and lateral error compared with other cases, thus enhancing path tracking performance.
