In this paper, we present new results concerning the relationship between the input-output and Lyapunov stability of nonlinear system possessing a periodic orbit. Definition of small-signal finite-gain L$\sub$p/ stability around periodic orbit is introduced. We show L$\sub$p/ stability of exponentially stable periodic orbit using quadratic Lyapunov functions for the periodic orbit. The L$\sub$2/ gain analysis is presented with Hamiltonian-Jacobi inequality along with an example.
This paper presents a data-based stability analysis of a MIMO linear time-invariant discrete-time system, as an extension of the previous results for a SISO system. In the MIMO case, a similar discussion as in the case of a SISO system is also applied, except that an augmented input and output space is considered whose dimension is determined in relation to both the orders of the input and output vectors and the numbers of inputs and outputs. As certain subspaces of the input and output space, both output data space and closed-loop data space are defined, which contain all the behaviors of a system, respectively, with zero input in open-loop and with a control input in closed-loop. Then, we can derive the data-based stability conditions, in which the open-loop stability can be checked by using a data matrix whose column vectors span the output data space and the closed-loop stability can also be checked by using a data matrix whose column vectors span the closed-loop data space.
The power supply systems, which require low-voltage / high-current output has been changing from the conventional centralized power system to a distributed power system. The distributed power system consists of a bus converter and POL. The most important factor is the system stability in bus architecture design. The overlap between the output impedance of a bus converter input impedance of POL causes system instability and has been an actual problem. By increasing the bus capacitor, the system stability can be easily improved. However, due to limited space on the system board, the increasing of bus capacitors is impractical. An urgent solution of this issue is strongly desired. This paper presents the output impedance design for on-board distributed power system by means of three control schemes of a bus converter. The output impedance peak of the bus converter and the input impedance of the POL are analyzed and then conformed experimentally for stability criterion. Furthermore, the design process of each control schemes for system stability is proposed.
Identification theory for linear discrete system has been presented by a great many reference, but research works for identification of continuous-time system are less than preceding identification. In fact, a great man), systems for engineering are continuous-time systems, hence, research for identification of continuous-time system has important meaning. This paper offers the following results: 1. Corresponding relations for the parameters of continuous-time model and discrete model may be shown, when single input-output system has general characteristic roots. 2. To do identification of single variable continuity linear system with stability constraints from samples of input-output data, it is necessary to use optimization with stability constraints. 3. Main results of this paper may be explained by a simple example.
The small signal model for input series-output parallel connected converter system employing charge control together with input capacitor voltage feedback loop is developed. From the model developed, the effect of input capacitor voltage feedback loop to the system stability and outer loop compensator design is analyzed. Theoretical results and simulation show that input capacitor voltage feedback loop has no critical effects on the system stability, so the system can be reduced to a equivalent single module for the stability analysis and outer loop compensator design.
Input series output independent (ISOI) dc-dc converter systems are suitable for high voltage input and multiple output applications with low voltage rating switches. This paper proposes a novel control strategy consisting of one output voltage regulating (OVR) control loop and n-1 (n is the number of modules in the ISOI system) input voltage sharing (IVS) control loops. An ISOI system with the proposed control strategy can be applied to applications where the output loads of each module are the same. Under these conditions, IVS can be achieved and output voltages copying can be realized in an ISOI system. In this control strategy there is only one controller for each module and the design process of the control loops is simple. Since no central controller is needed in the system, modularity of the system is improved. The operation principle of the new control strategy is introduced and the control effect is simulated. Then the output power and voltage characteristics of an ISOI system under this new control strategy are analyzed. The stability of the proposed control strategy is explored base on a Hurwitz criterion, and the design guide line of the control strategy is given. A two module ISOI system prototype is fabricated and tested in the laboratory. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
The paper proposes reference model error feedback control scheme for motion control system with hard non-linear components as like saturation and dead-zone in plant input part. Additionally, the plant has the system uncertainty effected by plant model parameter deviation and disturbance. The control algorithm uses the reference model to apply additional feedback loop with the error between reference model output and actual output effected by disturbance and non-linear components. And the stability evaluation based on Popov stability and controller design method are formulated to be performed. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is examined by simulations. The results are proven by reasonable performances following reference model responses with good disturbance rejection performance without over-tuning of controller.

In this paper, robust stability analysis for the fuzzy feedback linearization regulator is presented. Well-known Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is used as the MISO nonlinear plant model. Uncertainty and disturbance are assumed to be included in the model structure with known bounds. For these structured uncertainty and disturbances, robust stability of the close system is analyzed in both input-output sense and Lyapunov sense. The robust stability conditions are proposed by using multivariable circle criterion and the relationship between input-output stability and Lyapunov stability. The proposed stability analysis is illustrated by a simple example.
In this study, the technique of adaptive control based on certainty equivalence for the input-output linearization of nonlinear system is investigated. It is shown that the upper bound of the parameter estimation error can be represented more explicitly than Teel et al's works. Another direct approach, which stows that the adaptive input-output linearing control laws using the normalized identifier yield bounded tracing, is also presented.
This paper is concerned with the theoretical estimation of the single-input single-output(SISO) positive position feedback(PPF) controller and the derivation of the stability conditions for the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) PPF controller. Although the stability condition for the SISO PPF controller was derived in the earlier works, the question regarding the performance estimation of the SISO PPF controller has never been studied theoretically. Hence, the SISO PPF controller for the single degree-of-freedom system was first investigated and then control parameters including gain, the filter frequency, and the damping factor of the PPF controller were analyzed in detail thus providing the design methodology for the SISO PPF controller. In the case of real structure. there are infinite number of natural modes so that some modes are to be controlled by a limited number of actuator and sensor. Based on the theoretical results on the SISO PPF controller, the stability condition for the multi-input multi-output PPF controller was derived when only the few number of modes are to be controlled. The control spillover problem is also discussed in detail.
