To study the tolerant capacity of anaerobic granular sludge (AGS) to oxygen using semi -dynamic batch experiment, the aerating time, pH of the basal media, reductive inorganic materials, microorganism, and microorganism metabolite were investigated. When the aerating time was higher or lower than 0.5 h, the producing gas activity of sludge was lower than that of the control. The oxygen tolerance of the experimental sludge was the highest at the initial pH 7.2. The producing gas activity of sludge I was higher than that of sludge II. And storage at $4^{\circ}C$ can low the lose of the oxygen tolerance capacity of granular sludge. The producing gas activity of sludge was the highest when KI was added. The growth of aerobic microorganisms and some metabolite could increase the producing gas activity of granular sludge.

In this study, the microalga Neochloris oleoabundans was cultivated in a sustainable manner using diluted anaerobic digestate to produce biomass as a potential biofuel feedstock. Prior to microalgae cultivation, the anaerobic digestate was characterized and several pretreatment methods including hydrogen peroxide treatment, filtration, and supernatant extraction were investigated and their impact on the removal of suspended solids as well as other organic and inorganic matter was evaluated. It was found that the supernatant extraction was the most convenient pretreatment method and was used afterwards to prepare the nutrient media for microalgae cultivation. A bench-scale experiment was conducted using multiple dilutions of the supernatant and filtered anaerobic digestate in 16 mm round glass vials. The results indicated that the highest growth of the microalga N. oleoabundans was achieved with a total nitrogen concentration of 100 mg N/L in the 2.29% diluted supernatant in comparison to the filtered digestate and other dilutions.
Biofiltration can effectively remove both organic and inorganic air pollution compounds from both industrial and public sources. However, for the optimal biofiltration performance, it is necessary to gain a better understanding of the inner environment and destruction mechanisms within a biofilter. The effects of operational factors on removal efficiency was studied. Generally, removal efficiency decreases as the loading rate increases. Temperature, as one of the key factors that affect biofiltration design and performance, was also investigated. Conceptually, the biofilter reactor of this paper was divided into five different consecutive stages. The more ethylbenzene COD degraded at each stage, the higher the temperature increases observed compared to the temperatures of the previous stages. It was observed that for every 1 kg of ethylbenzene COD degraded per cubic meter of biofilter media, there was generally a 0.41$^{\circ}C$ increase in the temperature of that stage.
Ultrasonic relaxation measurements for imidazole and its derivative in phosphate buffer exhibit a high peak of absorption at neutral pH. Near neutral pH, protolysis and hydrosis may be neglected and the essential reaction only consists of a direct proton-exchange. The kinetics constants and the volume changes for the proton transfer reaction with the protonated imidazole and 2-methylimidazole have been determined at 25℃. The kinetics constants are 7.2×108s-1M-1for imidazole and 1.7×108s-1M-1 for 2-methylimidazole. The kinetics constants are used to estimate the spectrum of relaxation times and acoustic relaxation amplitude associated with intermolecular and intramolecular proton-exchange reactions in bilogical media. It is concluded that the magnitude of the acoustic absorption reasonalbly attributable to the perturbation of proton-transfer equilibria between imidazole and inorganic phosphate is comparable in magnitude with the acoustic absorption observed in some intact tissues.
Phytases (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate phosphohydrolase; EC 3.1.3.8) are enzymes which catalyze the hydrolisys of phytate into myo-inositol and inorganic phosphates. Phytases are found in plants and a variety of microorganisms. Aspergillus species were treated with 254 nm of UV irradiation for the screening of phytase overproducing mutant strains. At 15 minute irradiation, the survivals of population were less than 5%, and UV irradiation time was decided at 20 minute for the isolation of mutant strains. Four UV mutant strains in A. oryzae (YUV-47, -169, -341, -511) and six in A. ficuum (FUV-17, -36, -69, -193, -317, -419) were isolated on PSM media containing ammonium phosphate. The specific enzyme activities of A. ficuum mutants are 110 to 140% higher than that of wild type.
Zephyranthes candida, Narcissus pseudonarcissus and Crinum asiaticum pollen were placed near their pistil parts respectively on agar cultural media(microslides) containing 10% sucrose and 100mg/l botic acid plus 1% agar with or without calcium and some other calciumsupporting inorganic salts. If fresh pistils (100% moisture) were used pollen grew toward their pistil parts, showing "positive" tropism. This was also true when combinations among three different species were made. Pollen tubes grew away from the pistils if they were dried (below 10% moisture), showing "negative" tropism. Pollen could not show any tropic growth and thus grew at random of all directions if the pistil parts were incompletely dried (approximately 50% moisture). The similar tropic responses of pollen-tube growth with the three species could be demonstrated with etiehr wet or dried tooth-pick segments. Calcium jons in the basic medium merely promated pollen-tube growth and so either "positive" or "negative" tropism became rather distinctive, but they were not tropically active. Pollen tubes grow toward pistil parts with more moisture content and seem to be hydrotropically sensitive. This was assumed due to the cohesive force existing in water molecules.esive force existing in water molecules.
A new and efficient synthesis of the novel bioactive bis(benzopyrano) fused dihydropyridines is described. The conventionally developed route is a two step multicomponent condensation reaction. This is latter modified by a one pot microwave (MW) assisted reaction using inorganic solid support via the arylidene derivative intermediate. With this environmentally benign approach, the reaction time is brought down from hours to minutes along with a yield enhancement. Furthermore, the role of different solid supports is studied and it is concluded that the acidic alumina is the best solid support for the present investigation.
Ginseng root explants and calli induced from selected cell lines were cultured on modified Murashige and Skoog's media supplemented with different concentrations of organic or inorganic compounds and plant growth requlators to clarify the effects of chemical composition and plant growth regulators in the medium on the growth of ginseng calli and the production of ginseng saponin. For optimum growth of calli, the concentrations of 2, 4-D and sucrose were the range of 1 to 3 mg/${\ell}$l and 1 to $3\%,$ respectively. And it was clarified that sucrose, nitrogen, phosphate, calcium, magmesian plant growth regulators and their concentrations influcenced the relative biosynthesis of saponin in tissue cultures of Panax ginseng. The patterns of ginsenosides, pharmacologically useful component, were different among the cell lines and contents of ginsenosides were much higher in selected cell lines than in original cell line.
