Effects of Individuals, Leader Relationships, and Groups on Innovative Work Behaviors

  • Purpose - The intent of this research is to discover the factors that enhance innovative work behaviors of group members in order to strengthen the competitiveness of small enterprises. In addition, we verify that employee job characteristic factors have an influence between antecedent variables and dependent variables in the work situations at small companies. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is focused on identifying the factors, such as self-efficacy, leader member exchange (LMX), and collective efficacy, which promote innovative work behaviors. A total of 305 valid questionnaires were collected. Results - The results of a path analysis showed that LMX did not have significant effects on task significance, and autonomy did not have significant effects on innovative work behavior. Conclusions - These findings of the study imply that even though leaders supported the groups in accordance with official procedures by placing group members within or outside certain groups, task identity perceived by group members was not impacted. In addition, autonomy given to those with relatively less capability might be a burden rather than a positive outcome.

최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십이 지식공유와 혁신행동에 미치는 영향: 조직지원인식의 조절효과를 중심으로 (A Study on the Influence of the Ethical Leadership of the Top Management upon Sharing of Knowledge and Innovative Behavior: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of the Awareness of Organizational Support)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십과 조직구성원의 지식공유 및 혁신행동의 관계를 실증적으로 규명하여 조직구성원의 혁신행동을 강화할 수 있는 전략을 제시하는 것이다. 또한 이들 변수간의 관계에서 조직구성원들의 조직지원인식의 조절효과를 살펴봄으로써, 조직구성원의 혁신행동 강화에 있어서 보다 구체적이고 실효성 있는 방안을 제안할 것이다. 본 연구는 서울 및 전국 소재 중소기업 구성원 337명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십은 조직구성원의 혁신행동에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십은 조직구성원의 지식공유에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 조직구성원의 지식공유는 혁신행동에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십과 조직구성원의 혁신행동의 관계에서 조직구성원의 지식공유는 유의한 매개효과가 있음이 검증되었다. 다섯째, 조직지원인식은 최고경영자의 윤리적 리더십과 조직구성원의 지식공유 및 혁신행동의 관계에서 조절 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

양손잡이 리더십과 혁신적인 업무 행동: 한국 반도체 산업의 증거 (Ambidextrous Leadership and Innovative Work Behavior: Evidence from South Korea Semiconductor Industry)

  • The semiconductor industry is a competitive, complicated and a cyclical sector with a highly dynamic business climate which requires an effective leadership style to operate and succeed. This study explores the important issue of how leadership facilitates employee innovative work behaviors in the semiconductor industry. Based on the assumptions of the ambidextrous leadership theory and social exchange theory, we collected data from 300 workers employed in the semiconductor industry of South Korea. The study investigated (1) the impact of ambidextrous leadership on innovative work behavior, (2) the mediating effects of workers decision-making autonomy and workplace learning in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior, (3) the moderating role of resistance to change in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning, and (4) the moderating role of openness to experience in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. SmartPLS 4 and SPSS v24 was used to analyze our data. The study revealed that ambidextrous leadership positively influences workers innovative work behavior. In addition, decision-making autonomy and workplace learning partially mediated the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. Moreover, resistance to change was found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning. Based on these findings, we conclude that ambidextrous leadership is very imperative for semiconductor businesses seeking to foster employee innovative work behaviors. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are also discussed.

구성원들의 학습관성, 폐기학습, 지식통합능력, 혁신행동 간의 관계에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on the Relationships Among Employees' Learning Inertia, Unlearning, Knowledge Integration Capabilities, and Innovative Behavior)

  • Employees' knowledge integration capabilities and innovative behavior are still of crucial importance in the effective knowledge management. Recently researchers and practitioners are interested in both the potential benefits of unlearning and the negative aspects of learning inertia. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among learning inertia, unlearning, knowledge integration capabilities(knowledge exploitation and knowledge exploration) and innovative behavior. The results of analysis show that learning inertia is employees' psychological obstacle factor affecting knowledge integration capabilities and unlearning, that unlearning of employees is a key factor affecting knowledge integration capabilities, and that knowledge integration capabilities are driving forces leading to innovative behaviors of employees. For theoretical and practical implications, the research presents the grounds for arguments that knowledge integration capabilities are employees' dynamic capabilities from the knowledge management perspective, that unlearning is a driving force of employees' positive behaviors, and that organizations trying to perform the dynamic knowledge management need to identify the causes of employees' psychological resistance to learning. Limitations arisen in the course of the research and suggestions for future research directions are also discussed.

간호대학생의 창의성과 셀프리더십이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Creativity and Self-Leadership of Nursing College Students on Innovative Behaviors)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생들의 창의성과 셀프리더십이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 시도하였다. 간호학과 학생 202명을 대상으로 수집된 자료는 t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, Multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 본 연구결과 간호대학생의 창의성이 높을수록, 셀프리더십이 높을수록, 학년이 낮을수록 혁신행동에 높은 점수를 나타냈다. 혁신행동은 창의성 및 셀프리더십과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 혁신행동의 주요 영향 요인은 창의성, 셀프리더십, 학년으로 나타났으며, 혁신행동을 36.0% 설명하였다. 따라서 간호대학생들의 혁신행동을 향상시키기 위해서 입학 시부터 졸업 시까지 창의성 개발을 위한 교육과정이나 중재 프로그램 등 다양한 전략을 강구하고 셀프리더십을 강화할 수 있는 이론과 실습에서의 방안 모색이 필요하다.

기록연구사의 직무특성과 공공봉사동기가 혁신행동에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Job Characteristics and Public Service Motivation of Records Managers on Their Innovative Behaviors)

  • 이 연구는 공공부문에 종사하는 기록연구사의 직무특성이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향과 공공봉사동기의 매개효과를 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 공공기관의 기록연구사를 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 데이터 총 137부를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 기술통계분석, t검정, 분산분석, 상관분석, 회귀분석, 매개효과 분석을 하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기록연구사의 직무특성은 혁신행동과 공공봉사동기에 유의미한 영향관계가 있으며, 또한 공공봉사동기가 혁신행동에 유의미한 영향관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기록연구사의 직무특성과 혁신행동의 관계에서 공공봉사동기의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 기록연구사의 직무특성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 공공봉사동기와 혁신행동과의 의미있는 관계를 종합적으로 검증할 수 있었다.

호텔기업 조직공정성과 종사원 혁신행동의 관계에서 사회적 지원 인식수준의 매개효과 (Mediating Effects of Social Support on the Relationship between Organizational Justice and Employees' Innovative Behavior in Hotel Firms)

  • 본 연구는 호텔기업의 조직공정성이 사회적지원 및 혁신행동에 미치는 영향과 사회적지원이 조직공정성과 혁신행동의 관계에 미치는 매개효과를 밝혀내고자 서울지역에 소재한 특등호텔 종사원을 대상으로 실증분석을 시행하였다. 그 결과 조직공정성이 사회적지원과 혁신행동에 영향력이 있고, 사회적지원이 혁신행동에 유의한 영향력이 있음을 밝혀냈다. 또한 사회적지원이 조직공정성과 혁신행동의 관계에 매개효과를 나타냄을 밝혀냈다. 이 결과는 호텔기업의 조직관리 측면에서 조직공정성, 사회적지원의 중요성과 혁신행동의 중요성을 강조하는 새로운 방향을 제시하는 결과라고 할 수 있다.

Organizational Member Attitudes According to Workplace Type of Dental Hygienist

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a difference in organizational member attitudes by workplace environment and workplace types in dental hygienists working at dental health centers. Methods: A face-to-face survey or online survey was administered to dental hygienists working at dental health centers, and a total of 95 subjects were included. The survey includes 13 items to ask factors affecting employee's job satisfaction. Also, some questions were included to assess perception of organizational member attitude: five about organizational citizenship behavior, two about innovative behavior, and four about organizational commitment. Results: Dental hygienists working at dental clinics were more satisfied with their incomes and numbers of working days, while those from dental university hospitals and general hospitals were more satisfied with education support. In addition, hygienists working at dental hospitals were more satisfied with job autonomy, individual work capability, safe working environment, personal relation, potential for personal development, and positive labor-management relations, compared to those working at general and university hospitals (p<0.05). Among the items about perception of organizational member attitudes, the scores of items about organizational citizenship behaviors were higher, whereas the scores of items about innovative behaviors were relatively lower. Individuals working at dental hospitals than those working at general and university hospitals, chiefs and team and department leaders than team members, and those with increased satisfaction with current workplace had more positive perception of organizational member attitudes. Conclusion: For dental hygienists to have positive attitudes as organizational members, working environment should be improved, and executives of dental healthcare centers should pay attention to improving job satisfaction of organizational members. Moreover, since dental hygienists need to improve their perception of innovative behaviors and citizenship behaviors to strengthen specialty of dental hygienists in a changing dental healthcare, relevant training should be addressed in refresher courses or school programs.

Influence of COVID-19 Anxiety on Vigor and Innovative Work Behavior: Mediated Moderation of Flexible Work Arrangement

  • The present study examines the impact of COVID-19 anxiety on employees' psychological resources and behaviors, drawing on the conservation of resources theory. We also investigate whether flexibility in work contexts has a meaningful effect on employees' responses to the pandemic. A total of 284 working adults participated in an online survey consisting of self-reporting questionnaires that assessed levels of COVID-19 anxiety, vigor, innovative work behavior, and flexible working arrangements. The results showed that the level of vigor mediated the positive relationship between COVID-19 anxiety and innovative work behavior, and the perceived level of flexible working arrangements moderated this mediation effect positively. The findings highlight the importance of considering employees' psychological resources and work arrangements in managing the negative impact of COVID-19-related anxiety. This study provides theoretical and practical implications for organizations to better understand the psychological processes that employees undergo during a crisis. Further research on diverse work settings and cultural backgrounds is needed to expand on the present findings.

Experimental study on shear behaviors of Partial Precast Steel Reinforced Concrete beams

  • An innovative Partially Precast Steel Reinforced Concrete (PPSRC) beam is presented in this paper. To study the shear behavior of PPSRC beams, static loading experiments were conducted on 10 specimens, including 4 T-beam specimens and 4 PPSRC inverted T-beam specimens together with 2 PPSRC rectangular section beams. In the tests, the shear behaviors of the PPSRC beams were emphasized. On the basis of the experiments, the failure mode and ultimate bearing capacity were thoroughly examined. The calculation methods for shear capacity are also presented in this paper. The analysis of mechanical behavior and the calculation methods presented can be used as a reference to design these innovative composite PPSRC beams and provide a significant foundation for further research.
