  • The paper identifies the enablers (drivers) and inhibitors (barriers) influencing e-customs implementation in Vietnam (known as a developing country with a lower technological environment) along with determining the impact of e-customs on firm performance. The survey was conducted with the representatives (managers) of firms in five cities and provinces dominating Vietnam's international trade. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings show two significant drivers (enablers) - relative advantages and national culture, while compatibility and ease of use are the barriers. Previous studies showed that cultural dimensions related to 'uncertainty acceptance' and 'individualism' encourage innovation; however, this paper demonstrates that 'uncertainty avoidance' and 'collectivism' promote e-customs deployment in Vietnam. Previously, Vietnamese culture was known for scoring high on cultural dimensions related to 'power distance' and 'short-term orientation'. However, today, as an emerging country, Vietnamese has switched to 'low distance' and 'long-term orientation', especially in terms of e-customs innovation. Additionally, the paper also emphasized that e-customs implementation had a positive influence on firm performance in Vietnam. Based on the results of the paper, policy-makers can devise essential solutions to enhance e-customs implementation as well as managers of firms can set-up strategies to adapt to the modernized environment.

Research design and methodology - We try to approach licensing behavior from the perspective of innovation strategy and open innovation, and deal with two activities composing licensing, i.e. licensing-in and licensing-out using the result of Korean Innovation Survey Results - Firstly, Organizational characteristic factors, particularly the size and size related factors influence the firm behavior of licensing-out, but not in case of licensing-in. Secondly, innovation strategy influences the firm behavior of licensing-in, but not in case of licensing-out. Lastly, the determinants of licensing-in and that of licensing-out are different. Conclusions - In general, firms doing licensing-out have many complementary assets and orientation for global markets. Meanwhile, firms doing licensing-in are innovative firms utilizing patent as an appropriation mechanism. Licensing-out have relevance with product market-related factors and licensing-in have more relevance with technology market-related factors

  • This study empirically analyzed the relationship with major influencing factors in enhancing innovation capability of start-ups and their influence on innovation performance. If the existing innovation competency studies were analyzed from a general corporate perspective, In this study, it was analyzed from the perspective of start-up companies with less than 7 years of founding. As a result of a survey on startups, learning competency among the sub-variables of innovation competency, R&D competency and marketing competency are significant positive (+) consistent with both organizational competence related to organizational culture and organizational goals, technology commercialization competency, and close product competency. Has been shown to affect. The technical competence part does not have a significant effect on the product competency. However, it could not be interpreted that the importance of these competencies was low. This is because although technical competence did not directly affect product competency, it was analyzed as a meaningful result in relation to R&D competency. In addition, the characteristics of the company were classified into technology orientation and market orientation, and the relationship between each sub-variable was analyzed. The technical competence of a technology-oriented company did not have a significant effect on the product competency, but it was found that it had an effective effect on the R&D capacity. It is also consistent with the research findings that the initial survival rate is low as the characteristics of start-ups are often based on technology and ideas. Based on these results, There is a difference in major innovation capabilities according to the growth stage of a company. From a practical point of view, I would like to present approaches and implications for strengthening the competence of start-ups.

A structured questionnaire on a 5-point Likert scale was used to collect data from the selected hospitals of Saudi Arabia. The research results contribute considerably to the subject matter by theorizing SIR and the complex variable settings essential for embracing SI. This research also provides some understanding of the service innovation management dimension through a complete assessment that measures the organization's readiness and attempts to direct organizations' efforts to achieve and sustain competitive advantage. The study conducted is unique in the current geographic limits and has explored numerous SI areas of an organization's readiness to adopt service innovation.
