  • The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of patient-centered communication of doctor(facilitating factor, inhibition factor) on patient participation(behavioral participation, emotional participation, informational participation). Concretely, it is confirmed where there are effects of patient-centered communication of doctor to patient participation and whether there are moderating effects of trust between patient-centered communication of doctor and patient participation. In domestic general hospital, 301 samples were for this analysis collected and tested by factor analysis and moderating regression analysis. As a result of this study is as followings. First, it is confirmed that communication facilitating factor have influences on patient participation positively and communication inhibition factor have no influences on patient participation. Second, there are moderating effects of trust between facilitating factor and emotional participation, between facilitating factor and informational participation. Especially, in higher level group of trust, it is confirmed that facilitating factor more influence on emotional participation and informational participation. On the basis of these study results, I suggested theoretical and practical implication for the patient-centered communication and successful medical service.

  • It has been known that the novel diterphenoids, hericenone and erinacine isolated from the fruiting body and cultured mycelia of Hericium erinaceus showed potent stimulating activity of nerve growth factor (NGF)-synthesis. To investigate the biological activities of extracts from fruiting body, cultured mycelium and cell-free broth of H. erinaceus, the activity experiments of antioxidation and AChE inhibition were carried out. Sephadex G-10 gel filtration followed by HPLC on a ${\mu}Bondapak$ $C_{18}$ column of EtOAc extract from cultured mycelium showed a biological activity.

  • A focused library of pyrazole-based compounds was constructed towards novel transcription factor inhibitors. Complementary hydrogen bonding interaction with b-sheet peptide structures was the basis for the design of 5-amino-3-pyrazole carboxamide scaffold. From the preliminary inhibition assay against several transcription factors, compounds 7e and 8g were identified as novel lead compounds against HIF-1a and NF-AT transcription factors, respectively.

  • In this study, twenty-one oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins were isolated from a methanol extract of the roots of Pulsatilla koreana. Antagonistic activities were measured in these compounds by the aequorin based cellular functional assay system for the corticotropin releasing factor receptor (CRF1). Of them, compounds 7 - 10 showed the highest degree of CRF1 inhibition further at the concentration of $10{\mu}M$. Moreover, by the analysis based on the structure-activity relationship of isolated saponins, a sugar chain at C-3 and a carboxyl group at C-28, as well as a methyl group at C-23 seems to be key functional elements. To our knowledge, this is the first report on CRF1 inhibition of saponins from P. koreana.

  • Exogenous stimuli such as nerve growth factor (NGF) exert their effects on neurite outgrowth via Trk neurotrophin receptors. TrkA receptors are known to be ubiquitinated via proteasome inhibition in the presence of NGF. However, the effect of proteasome inhibition on neurite outgrowth has not been studied extensively. To clarify these issues, we investigated signaling events in PC12 cells treated with NGF and the proteasome inhibitor MG132. We found that MG132 facilitated NGF-induced neurite outgrowth and potentiated the phosphorylation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase/mitogen-activated protein kinase (ERK/MAPK) and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT pathways and TrkA receptors. MG132 stimulated internalization of surface TrkA receptor and stabilized intracellular TrkA receptor, and the $Ub^{K63}$ chain was found to be essential for stability. These results indicate that the ubiquitin-proteasome system potentiated neurite formation by regulating the stability of TrkA receptors.

  • Wood material is positive with the concept of eco-friendly materials. Wood toy preference of foreign brands is also a real problem. Therefore, in this domestic situation on Toys Brand Development, there are many problems yet to be solved. At First, a wood material for toys requires the development of more sophisticated and precision materials. Second, new content, product development and training program development of the toys are needed. Characters and content development time and effort should be invested. In present, Korean brand development of wood toy with educational effects is very important issues as the use of wood to match the low carbon & green growth.

  • The transcription factor, GATA-1, plays an important role in the $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$ ${\alpha}$ chain expression in mast cells and basophils. This study was conducted to investigate the downregulation of the transcription factor GATA-1 by kaempferol isolated from Nelumbo nucifera stamens in $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$-mediated allergic reactions. Kaempferol inhibited $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$-mediated histamine release. Western blotting analysis and RT-PCR showed that the protein and mRNA expression of GATA-1 was suppressed by kaempferol in a dose-dependent manner. These results suggest that kaempferol may inactivate basophils by downregulating the $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$ ${\alpha}$ chain expression via the inhibition of the GATA-1 expression.

  • Objective : Inflammatory cytokines have a close relationship to insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). The inhibitory effect of Smilacis Glabrae Rhizoma (SGR) were examined on production of nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin $E_2$ $(PGE_2)$, synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ (TNF-${\alpha}$) and NF-${\kappa}$B activation in Raw 264.7 cells. Methods: Raw 264.7 cells were pretreated with SGR(20, 50, 100 ${\mu}g$/ml), and then cultured with lipopolysaccharides (LPS). Cell viability was measured by MTT assay; inhibition of NO, $PGE_2$, and TNF-${\alpha}$ production were measured by Griess reagent and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Induction of COX-2 and iNOS were determined by western blotting analysis. Inhibition of NF-${\kappa}$B was measured by immunofluorescence assay (IFA). Results: SGR inactivated NF-${\kappa}$B, and inhibited the production of NO, iNOS, and $PGE_2$. Inhibition of COX-2 and TNF-${\alpha}$ could not be confirmed. Conclusions: From the above result. SGR was found to have an anti-inflammatory effect of inhibition of NO, iNOS, and $PGE_2$ production via inhibition of NF-${\kappa}$B.

  • Objectives : The present study was designed to investigate effects of mixed extract from korean medicinal herbs (MIX) on oxidation/reduction reaction-related and aging-related enzyme in vitro. Methods : We performed MTT assay, collagenase inhibition assay, elastase inhibition assay, tyrosinase inhibition assay, DPPH free radical scavenging assay, SOD-like activity and xanthine oxidase inhibition assay. Results : Recently, many studies have reported that elastin is also involved in inhibiting or repairing wrinkle formation, although collagen is a major factor in the skin wrinkle formation. The MIX showed 97% inhibition of collagenase activity, and 64% inhibition of elastase activity at 1 mg/ml concentration of MIX, next only to positive control, which indicate good efficacy for anti-wrinkle ingredient. Also it's treatment showed 34% inhibition of tyrosinase activity, to relate whitening effect, at the same dose of MIX. Antioxidant activities were determined by DPPH radical scavenging, xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibiting activity and SOD-like activity. Also these scavenging, XO-inhibiting and SOD-like activities were measured in 91%, 80%, and 63% inhibition, respectively, at a treated dose of 1 mg/ml, compare to control. Conclusions : These results suggest that possibility of mixed korean medicinal herbs as a functional ingredient for anti-wrinkle and whitening, anti-oxidation and anti-aging cosmetic formula.
